Yeah for real. I'm all for non violence in Hip Hop, and I'd hate to see anybody dead, but at the end of the day these are grown men, and everybody involved is from the hood. Recently a Detroit based rapper, Blade Icewood, was killed behind a rap related beef. A visitor to my blog commented 'it's going to be a bloody summer in the D'. That's just great. Now I get to pay five bucks to see a local act & have my death thrown in for free because somebody missed their target. Better yet (at least for 'me') my girl gets stomped the fuck out because everyone is bum rushing the exit.

I'm reminded (naturally) of Tupac/B.I.G. beef & subsequent deaths. And all the industry wide mourning & the polarized fan bases. Then when all the reserve tracks run out, it's all about 'geez...sure wish Pac was around to lay down some tracks'.

It's a bit unattractive (& cliche) to endlessly parrot Rodney King everytime a beef breaks out, especially when I know we can't all get along. But damnit, if this beef shit could just hurry up & become boring to everybody, people like Al Sharpton could stay the hell out of Hip Hop news. And *that's* what I call progress.

I can't see Hot97 doing anything about this. In fact I think it's more likely they're happy about the latest in the Game/50 Cent drama. Every year there is some big controversy at Summer Jam it's like a prerequisite. This whole thing is getting incredibly tired though.

It's survival of the fittest, ultimately, to the nonviolent. The Game and 50 cent can't even compare to the lyrical talent of biggie or super-charisma of Tupac so it'd hardly be a comparable loss.
