October 17, 2005Umm.... So... Prince Needs... A Hip Replacement?Never thought I'd come to prince.org and find that the top story is their "OFFICIAL PRINCE HIP REPLACEMENT THREAD". The only sources I can find are the Enquirer and the British tabloids... but then again the Enquirer's track record is about as good as most major newspapers these days.. It's all them splits. Once, a while back, I asked the prince newsgroup when the last recorded time was that PRN did his trademark splits, and nobody knew. I can't find any evidence he's done them in about 8 years. Hip replacement! Sigh. Posted by: Anil Dash at October 17, 2005 8:45 PM Whoa, I guess Anil is right--too many splits is rough on the hips. Posted by: Rachel at October 18, 2005 9:54 AM If Prince gets a hip replacement will he walk funny? I just visualize him walking like the hall monitor on In Living Color played by David Alan Grier! I pray he gets relief soon from the pain. God bless you Prince. Posted by: Jackie at October 19, 2005 8:09 PM To evidence Prince doing the splits in the last 8 years, check out the Rave Un2 the year 2000 concert DVD - he does about 10...in ONE SUCCESSION!! Not bad for a then 41 year old. Although as I haven't seen him do any another splits since, maybe that's when he did the damage...Hip replacement or not - he STILL looks freakishly young for a 47 year old Posted by: AD at October 20, 2005 8:39 AM i had a hip replacement and believe me ms princes days of twirlling are done and that girl betterstart wearing some flats Posted by: kevin at October 20, 2005 11:32 PM It must be those ass-less pants. They're not allowed to have blood transfusions. Posted by: John Beale at October 25, 2005 1:16 PM I think if he needs hip replaced then he should get it Posted by: Stephanie_B at October 25, 2005 1:22 PM Chips and Whips...Painful hips! Posted by: who is it at May 14, 2006 9:07 PM I'm only 52 and need a hip replacement, I'm gutted so I think I know how Prince must feel - and Anthony LaPaglia/Jane Kaczmarek - in fact the only thing that makes me feel (very slightly) better, is knowing that I'm in the company of these famous,(and even younger than me), people. Posted by: Kim at May 18, 2006 1:55 PM I had heard about him needing the surgery, but it is his decision, though I nor others that love his genius may like it or not. He is only 3 years older than I am, and I know it must be getting harder for him to do the things that he did in his younger days. Fortunatly, his hip has no effect on his mind nor his singing. So don't count him out. He's a surviver, and will handle this situation as such. As far as him being a Jehovah's Witness, the church has rescinded its policy on transplants when the person's life is danger, and God wouldn't want one of His children to suffer. I'd still love him anyway, and so would God. The church has had too many people to die, suffer and leave due to its stringent policy Posted by: Jasmine at October 1, 2006 9:18 PM |
