A Conversation With Charlie Ahearn
Yesterday I announced our new groub-blog lineup, but I will keep posting here as well when I have time, especially to throw up audio whenever possible. This here is a conversation I had with Charlie Ahearn a few days ago, when he came through WBAI to promote his party tomorrow night in honor of Wild Style's 25th anniversary.

Here's a question for the collective:
Warner and Violator will begin handling the side deals for artists, an avenue where a record company usually stayed hands off. Is this good or bad for the music?

Yo, I just listened.
Valid points:
"They tried to get away from the jails. Not say jail was cool".
"The 10 or 15 people that are s'posed to represent what Hip Hop is."
"Scratch-Mixing".
Sike. Just kidding. But Charlie sounds like good people.
Thanks for the aud, Smoove.

At this point, hash, all corporate involvement is suspect.
but what do you mean handling side deals?

Word I saw the fight, BP.. When is Kimbo vs. Fedor??

Oh shit!
I didn't know that was announced.
If it wasn't, I'd say something will be announced within the next thirty days and we should have another "thump" on our hands by Christmas.
I think Kimbo's a rising star.
Even if he loses the next two or three fights straight, he'll still be a legend due to his explosiveness.
But I don't think he's gonna lose. The only comp I see for him is Bob Sapp and Rampage Jackson.
I think he can get over on Bob Sapp. But the Rampage fight -- if it happens -- will be one for the ages.
