September 22, 2007Bill O'Reilly Amazed That Black People Are CivilizedJust when I was starting to feel bad for clowning the guy so much: Posted by jsmooth995 at September 22, 2007 11:55 AM Comments
wow............ Posted by: trusouth at September 22, 2007 12:25 PM C'mon, that's a quote from The Onion, ain't it? The guy can't really think that way. Can he? Posted by: Hashim Warren at September 22, 2007 12:33 PM It's sad that he thinks that about us. Like we are mostly barbaric. It's even sadder that his viewers continue to watch him. Posted by: JonRUD at September 22, 2007 9:08 PM This from a guy who calls his producer and tells her he's got his dick in his hand. Glad everyone was appropriate. Posted by: JohnnyUnitus at September 23, 2007 12:53 AM Did he say this on the air? This is ridiculous. Has he never seen a black person in real life before this? That's the only way I could imagine that he could actually be this ignorant! Posted by: dsign kid at September 24, 2007 6:52 AM Did he say this on the air? This is ridiculous. Has he never seen a black person in real life before this? That's the only way I could imagine that he could actually be this ignorant! Posted by: dsign kid at September 24, 2007 6:53 AM He said this on his radio show. If you can stomach it, you should listen to the audio clip (it's on the right). Posted by: DJA at September 24, 2007 11:07 AM That stuff was mild. Rush Limbaugh would've lied and said it was all motherfucka where's my iced tea. And let's face it some times it gets like that, sometimes it takes to long to get an iced tea at Sylivia's and it turns out that's because Bill O'reilly's getting all the good service and drinking my muthafuckin iced tea and then Anita Baker's got both my copies of Buffalo Gal and is in front of thousands of white people in tuxedos. Posted by: johnnyUnitus at September 24, 2007 11:06 PM i honestly don't have anything to say to that. i'm speechless. Posted by: kenda at September 24, 2007 11:52 PM I'm not surprised by his comments. I would be surprised if a bigoted idiot such as O'Reilly, said anything intelligent. Posted by: Shaun Witten at September 25, 2007 4:55 AM As a white person, I understand what Bill was trying to say (I think), though he went about it entirely in the wrong way. What I got from that was he simply was explaining to the listeners that the way white people view black people in America is through the media, which, sadly enough, is often portrayed through rap videos or something portraying the black man as the "thug". Blame it on the producers though. I hate to admit it, but I agree with Mr. OReilly in that I am almost taken back when I see black people portrayed in a light other than a rapper or professional athlete. I'll admit, that's racist of me, but it's in no way hatred. To me what is "racist" is accusing others of being intolerant and crying RACIST every time you see a white person just trying to explain how he feels. I'm sorry, but I in no way see how people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are helping the situation whatsoever, they are only adding fuel to a fire that has burned long before our time. Yes, most if not all of us are ignorant, but don't confuse that with hatred or intolerance. I normally don't agree with much of what he has to say, but this time I have to side with Mr. OReilly. Posted by: nick at September 25, 2007 4:53 PM By the way my friends who are black also agree with me on this because we have talked about it SEVERAL times. They make fun of me (jokingly) for being ignorant some times but they don't ever call me a racist. I'm a white guy who is proud to be white just as you are proud to be black. I told them I would be just as offended at the "R" word as they would the "N" word. It's 2007 and I'm ready to step forward. Posted by: Nick at September 25, 2007 5:00 PM Bill surely has huge cojones to challenge The Almighty Jesse Jackson and Big Hairdo Sharpton. The true is that all the professional blacks i know do not need directions from either one. Intelligent people of any race knows how to think by themselves. Posted by: Manuel R. Báez Alcántara at September 25, 2007 5:12 PM its not sad he thinks about us like that because the large part of our society acts like that and the main represenation of black america is BET Posted by: Potusqj at September 25, 2007 10:38 PM As a white person I like to drink sunny Delight and watch Mork and Mindy. Later on I turned professional black person I got a big signing bonus, black scott boras was my agent. Now, as a professional I have seen the BET ratings and there is no large part of society watching, there is a large part of society not watching BET at all different times of the day. A large part of society are watching other channels like NBC, and CBS and a large part of society are watching videos instead of doing things like watching BET. I think even Discovery might have a 2 share. There need to be more professional black people shows where they talk to dogs and make them behave better. Also, there are many shows that are possible with iced tea, but with positive messages. Posted by: JohnnyUnitus at September 26, 2007 12:00 AM How about Bill commenting on the Anita Baker concert that had blacks in the audience who were well behaved. Regarding Sylvia's, Bill O said that there was no one in the restaurant saying to the waiter "where's my m-F'ing iced tea". Now that's some civilized dining experience for Bill O. He's also blaming liberal web sites for doing a hatchet job on his comments. I honestly thought this was a morning radio joke until I heard the clips myself. Somebody get the man a loofah! Posted by: IllegalSearch at September 26, 2007 9:35 AM O'Reilly says his comments were taken out of context. And though I loathe him and what he stands for, I think I believe him: Posted by: Hashim Warren at September 26, 2007 7:03 PM Jsmooth995 get your facts striat, the only reason you most this nonsense junk is to get attention and because you hate him personally for no reason. Posted by: NonsenseJunk De gaulle at September 28, 2007 10:31 AM I'm sorry Nick, I have to disagree with your (and your friends') assessment. Bill O'Reilly wasn't simply pointing out that to the bigoted world that dining in a black-owned, operated restaurant is as dignified as a white restaurant (Italian being the specific comparison). What makes his comments demeaning is the comment he "couldn't get over the fact" of the experiences being similar. He is saying he can't believe his own experience. O'Reilly goes on to say blacks are starting to think more for themselves and not be led by Al Sharpton (his dining companion) or Jesse Jackson. Is he inferring black people can't think for themselves? Who says Sharpton and Jackson are the leaders and brains of the black community? That would be like saying O'Reilly represents Caucasians, which I'm sure he doesn't. O'Reilly's mouth has gotten him into trouble numerous times - after which he claims he's misunderstood and the comments are out of context. He is fooling fewer and fewer with his act.
