April 21, 2008Nas "Be A Nigger Too" MP3A leak of the first single from Nas' "Nigger" album, not surprisingly titled "Be A Nigger Too".. Honestly my first reaction is that "Be a Nigger Too," though he gets some hot lines in, is basically an inferior version of NYOil's What Up My Wigger. Nas should've just repurposed that track like Kanye did "Jesus Walks." But what do y'all think? Nas "Be A Nigger Too" MP3The new single from Nas, "Be A Nigger Too", from hte upcoming Nigger album. Good thoughts right here about the track... At least, Nas is trying to do something with his music...He may not be dead-on point, but at least he's moving things in the right spirit. This hate 'ish is blaazay...Love and acceptance is racy. Posted by: reed at April 22, 2008 4:07 PM "basically an inferior version of NYOil's What Up My Wigger" Eh, I don't see it. Posted by: Hashim Warren at April 23, 2008 1:06 AM I think the song (well the first verse at least) is more about how the underclass is treated by the larger society and that although the designation of "n*****" has been put on black people primarily, based on the treatment of the social underclass, there's a lot more "n*****s" than us. poor whites, latinos, and people of other races are experiencing some of the same uncaring sentiment from the larger society that black people have suffered for years.so in that he's saying you're one too, not because of race but because of treatment. kinda reminds me of the cornel west thing after 9-11 when he said "the country had been niggerized." good song but i have one issue....more preemo less salaam remi. IMHO Posted by: bgman0600 at April 23, 2008 6:37 AM 2008!! Thank you black America for allowing one of your most promising rap ambassadors to actively legitimize and promote the N word. You might all love it but the majority of African people outside America hate it. Rap is global, it goes beyond Queens bridge. The Dick Gregory's and Richard Pryor's of this world have always repeatedly distanced themselves from their N word catalogue. It's a shame but to be honest Posted by: Ijapa at April 23, 2008 5:56 PM 2008!! I think this track is one that you should have to buy the album for and he should drop something to catch the people's attention in the media. This track is hot. Coming from a NAS follower I see his thoughts about this nigger shit as vivid as I see my own. One love! Posted by: Vernon Marsh at April 24, 2008 11:02 AM I think the song is lyricaly great. However, this is NOT the Hip Hop era. This is teh rap and entertainment era. Noone listens to words anymore. My generation requires banging beats and a tight hook to get attention. Tight swagger will get you record sales, and ringtones. That formula gets my attention. I don't even know half the words in the song! and I don't wanna look em up. Thats real!! Y0ungguner 15. Posted by: Joseph at May 1, 2008 9:20 PM yo Nas gets deep with it. I think this track is pretty powerful if you pay attention to it. it's powerful in a number of different ways. for one, he seems to be formally embracing the word "nigger" - and even claims to not be made at eminem for saying the word "nigger" himself. i think that is crazy! i'm black (whatever that really means) and i would be appauled if anyone that was never identified as a nigger to call me or any other black person a nigger. that's just me. but nas is just putting it out there like fuck it. how do folks feel about this?
