My suggestion is to step away from politics, Jay. At least in you're videos sometimes and give us some good ol' hip-hop talk. In fact you should take a more elitist stance on hip-hop(but that would be like me blogging). Still good, stay positive. Peace. Posted by: Kirk at May 5, 2008 5:50 PM whats the difference between the "little hater" and self censorship. One thing that can always be said of your videos, is that you come at them with a clear headed theme and thoughtful approach. That's what makes them sooo refreshing. That being said. When are you gonna say something that you have to take back? When are you gonna get angry at the nonsense and just yell and throw a cat? Call em out Jay and stop getting frustrated about alienating folks. Where is the Sean Bell video? Where is the why is Obama not talking about Sean Bell video? Where is the " why does spell check always correct me when I spell a African name like Obama which I clearly capitalize but not with Trent Lot video? I mean how many people you know with the name Trent? Where is the middle finger? Are you planning on running for office or something? Posted by: Fresh83 at May 5, 2008 11:31 PM I'm with you Jay. I don't know, I stepped away from my standard cynicism for MONTHS and became a nearly zealous Obama supporter. For the first time in a long time I was able to think of a politician as not only a "plumber", but as a plumber I'd like to buy a beer and talk to and maybe ask for advice too. I was taken in by his charisma, and even though I feared that I wasn't being lectured to, but was instead being preached to, I overcame that fear and trusted in his plan. I defended him against his haters, all while doing my best to keep the high ground and not bash Clinton-ites back, because you know, I'm cool for her mostly too (her censorship history is unsettling, though.) But then Pennsylvania happened. At again, it's effectively stalemated. If she'd have won by 15 or more, or by 9 or less, I feel like I'd still have that fire. "We can come back from this!" or "We got it now! Just push forward!" Instead I just feel... fatigued. Exhausted. Worn out. Nearly depressed over all of this. I don't feel like fighting anyone anymore, not even the real opposition who wants to to keep us in Iraq for decades, start new wars with Iran, and whose own pastor believed that Hurricane Katrina was sent by God to stop a Gay Pride Parade in New Orleans. That old cynicism, that old fatalism, has come crawling back into my brain and I'm not sure I can hold it at bay anymore. Here's hoping tomorrow give us something closer to closure. When it doesn't, I'll be the one with headphones on and a good novel in hand, just waiting out the storm. Posted by: Austin Walker at May 6, 2008 12:08 AM Post a comment |
