Popular Hongkong pop superstar and actor jumps to his death
Oh my god. This is a shock.
Most of you have probably never heard of Leslie Cheung, but he is.. was.. one of Asia's biggest superstars as both a singer and actor. Try to imagine if Brad Pitt or Madonna suddenly committed suicide. What terrible news for folks over there, already suffering so much stress from this virus.
Some you will be aware I am an avid follower of Hong Kong cinema, and Leslie Cheung is in many of my favorite films:
John Woo's A Better Tomorrow, One and Two
Tsui Hark's Chinese Ghost Story, One and Two
The Bride With White Hair
Wong Kar Wai's Happy Together
He played a somewhat scandalous gay role in Happy Together, and rumors about his sexuality hounded him throughout his career. I'm sure now that will play into speculation about his apparent suicide.. but whatever the reason, a terrible tragedy.

iv adored him in A BETTER TOMORROW 1 & 2, THE KID, FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE, and HAPPY TOGETHER. a great actor...it's just so sad to hear about his sudden death. a great loss in the movie industry. NO ONE CAN EVER REPLACE THE GREATNESS OF LESLIE CHEUNG.

I don't know what drive him to commit suicide but i just want to ask , don't he will miss his sisters, partners and his fans? He was a beautiful man and a beautiful actor. Leslie Cheung gave his role in "Farewell, My Concubine" an amazing depth that few actors could ever dream of creating; it's only sad that his greatness couldn't transcend his emotional problems.
So tragic to lose one of the few truly talented people in entertainment. He will be incredibly missed.

yes..i heard about it...it was too long ago..i wish it was a april fool joke. well he commit suicide because his boyfriend dumped him and he felt depressed and *tears* this is makimg me cry..well...he then later on went to a gay hotel and jumped off the hight balcony...this is a tragic story...i thought he had everyting but i guess money can't buy u happiness...you will be forever missed and loved!

Sorry to hear that such a talented man took his life , how ironic tha art imitates life....
Sad that this young talented man couldn't deal with his demons in another way.. Iwas browsing on the internet when I came across a news headline regarding mr. cheung,, and read further.... good career and music is sensational( download a song)
