April 07, 2003MTV: "Stop Being So Commercial!"MTV Cry to Artists: Stop the Shilling I am amused by MTV's high minded stance, claiming they are simply worried about "maintaining trust with the audience".. I'm sure the fact that they are missing out on money here, and these companies are basically getting to advertise on MTV without paying MTV, does not factor into their concern at all. Also, this goes to show that the music industry will use their financial woes much like the Bush administration is using the threat of terrorism, to justify all types of shady dealings, and expand their powers as far as they can push them. damn! ms. jade got a half a million dollar video! Posted by: becca at April 7, 2003 04:41 PM "maintaining trust with the audience"? What trust? Man, it's all about $$$$, nothing else matters. Also I can't believe that they spent over half a mil on Ms. Jade video! That video sucks and only got airplay for maybe a month or so. What a waste of money. I bet most of the cost weren't even directly related to filming of the video... Also who's dumb enough to actually watch MTV, seriously? MTV is wack, and every music lovers should boycott them cuz they are really messing up the music industry along with major labels. Posted by: DJ Musashi at April 8, 2003 02:59 PM Wack ass MTV.
