Our society seems like to just put a lid on the problems than actually trying to get amend the problems but coming up with effective treatments. I really don't see any good effect coming out of imprisoning a nonviolent drug users. I heard that many people do continue to use drugs or get hooked on drugs in jail. So I don't know what good will come out of imprisonment. Sticking people in jail for 15 years will probably make then lot worse than before they went to jail. What I want to know is that if there's any sociological studies being done on nonviolent drug offenders that were sentenced for 15 years in prison versus nonviolent drug offenders ended up skipping imprisonment and entered rehab or couseling... I'm sure 15 years in prison does not do any good at all...
