Aspiring Rappers Find Themselves Homeless
The other side of the game:
Duo chronicling homelessness in rap
As they walked along 13th Street toward Broadway, the two smelly, scruffy young men needed showers, a change of clothing, food and jobs.
In early December, Imani Christian, 21, and Cori Mullins, 32, aspiring rappers and songwriters, were drifters and homeless. But not hopeless.
For weeks, they had slept in a car -- or a homeless shelter if there was a bed. During the days -- after using a bathroom at the Greyhound Bus Station on San Pablo Avenue and getting some breakfast cereal at the nearby St. Vincent De Paul's -- they aimlessly walked downtown and neighborhood streets looking for odd jobs.
However, as they witnessed or experienced the abuses, pain and humiliation of homelessness, they took notes, which they plan to use to craft lyrics for a CD...
...Both are from Los Angeles and happened to meet in Denver last year. They decided Oakland was the place to jump-start their music careers. Mullins had a single called "How Love Goes." Christian had a white 1991 Camero.
They headed to the Bay Area but fell on hard times in the past year, losing jobs and housing. Christian broke up with a girlfriend and had to leave their apartment in Mountain View. Mullins was looking for a record deal, but he too was homeless.
Although destitute, they have stuck together and used street smarts to survive. Both have cell phones, but little else. Their clothes are in the Camero.
"You see a lot of pain and suffering out here (on the streets)," said Christian...

I hope they can pull it off and get themselves to gether. Being homeless sucks.

I am a rapper/Poet from the town of Elmo Utah, all you other rappers have no idea how it is to be living in a small town, like in the old western movies, and thats just the way it is over hier. cowboys and farmers, I go to a highschool called Emery high, I think it has about 600 students that go there. me, I'm a rapper, most of the kids dont like rap. I'm like the only real rapper I know that goes to that school. you other rappers are lucky you dont have to experience what I go mthrough, you would really want to give up. there's no black people at my school, I am white, and mexican. whenever there is a black person that comes to our school, we're tite, we rap battle and all the other stuff any other rapper would do. last year me and my twin got up and put the flows down infront of the whole school. (he;s my beat box) but thats not enouph. I started rapping in the sixth grade, like most of you, its been 8 years. i always get introuble for rapping, I just cant quit though. they want me to stop, I get introuble for poetry too. I was charged with 3 counts of class B mistiminers,(death Threats) my girlfriend turned me in. she is white and just doesnt like rap. I don't care if you are Black, white, hispanic, or Asian, if you can flow, thats cool and you should'nt stop, Espesially people that are not black, I do truly believe it is hard for you guys to keep it real and not give up rap, rap is a type of poetry, its not a black thing, anybody can do it. and Yes (it is Music). I hope I havent affended anyone, I'm not rasist, and dont mean anybody to get all up in trama, be happy for who you are. As a Poet I'm now getting published. I'm pretty sure most of you are published for something. But even 5 hours in prison and 5 days in the DT or criminal fasility, didn't stop me from continue to make Rap cassets. I do believe that alot of rappers have to live on the streets. But if they are confident enouph and has what it takes to be a rapper, living on the streets is worth it, ($mills$). I have been trying hard to become a rapper, a succesfull one at that. If some body wants to buy a kasset of me, thats tite, get it whyle I'm still on the underground. E-mail me at elnino@hotmail.com, the kassets cost $6.00. if you want to buy one E-mail me and ask about it, or if you just want to E-mail me about some more detailed parts of my life, thats cool too. If you have a STUDIO and want to check out my tallent, E-mail me, I'll get back with ya. but heck yeah, all you rappers that live in small towns that realy don't like rap that much, talk to me about the crap you are going through. I'm pretty sure I have some good avice for EVERYBODY.

phentermine Every possible idea therefore may be said to be used existentially, for every possible idea qualifies and is true of a real world. And the number of real worlds, in a word, is indefinite. Every idea therefore in a sense is true, and is true of reality. The question with every idea is how far and in what sense is it true. The question is always whether, qualifying reality in one sense, the idea qualifies reality in another sense also. For, true in one world, an idea may be false in another world...
