Spigg Nice Goes Out Like Steady B
I guess he really took Ras Kass' career advice to heart:
Lost Boyz Member "Spigg Nice" Sentenced To 37 Years In Prison
Ronald "Spigg Nice" Blackwell, a member of popular Queens, New York rap group The Lost Boys, was sentenced to 37 years for a bank robbery spree.
The sentencing took place last Friday (January 16), with Blackwell being the last of four defendants to be sentenced.
U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie labeled the string of robberies one of the most violent in recent New Jersey history.
A jury found that between December 2000 and April 16, 2002, the four defendants committed 10 bank robberies throughout Burlington, Mercer, Middlesex, and Monmouth Counties...

WOW! what are these rappers and atheletes thinging? c-murda, mystikal, now spigg nice (along with many others not in the news). was it so hard for spigg to get a deal that he resorted to robbing banks? who's next? the lost boys were one of my favorite groups in the mid 90's. now this makes two members of the gone.

Such a shame. I read this today. All these rappers aspire to 'get into the game' so they can 'get off the corner' but yet still, we see stuff like this. Perhaps a reflection of the industry since he obviously wasn't doing that well if he had to resort to robbing a bank.

all this moralizing is something else! really, how could anyone compare spigg nice's bank robbery to c's murda or mystikal's gang rape? these acts are categorically unrelated aside from their arbitrary illegality, which is only a moral meter stick for idiots and fascists. whereas i generally support bank robbery and do feel a sense of solidarity with spigg's (and steady b and cool c's) acts and empathize with his drive, i can't empathize with the others' impulses at all (though i would afford that the concept of 'justice' is yet disgusting in the current social context even in the most heinous examples).
ps. spigg nice was one of the "what the fuck does he do in the group again" lost boyz. i'd doubt that he even thought he had any chance of "getting a deal."

Mr Cheeks was the Lost Boyz, no doubt, but to see another brothers wife wasted, it fills me with dread, and remorse. It's an unfortunate lifestyle that we glorify that ends up asking us to pay a heavy price. 37 years in a federal prision is not what I would wish on even my enemies.

As men we should start to look at our acts and their consequences. If these brothers robbed banks, they did it for a reason whether it was right or wrong in the end every action has a reaction. As a people we need to build and strengthen our own communities, this way we do not have to look for hand outs and resort to crime. At a time where black culture(especially Hip hop culture Puff, Jay-Z & 50 Cent) is dominating how black and white people spend money, we need to keep some of our own culture in our communities so that brothers do not have to go out and rob banks, sell drugs etc.

This is a real trip it made me think about steady b and cool c now another rapper goes out on the bank spree but getting back to cool c he is on death row and sentenced to die from lethal injection for the killing of black female police officer lauretha viard I feel for vaird's family she was a single parent of two kids I think I feel bad for cool c too because he didn't have to go out like that.As black people we need to get ourselves together.
