Detox: Deactivated
In case you didn't see, our man on in the inside JB just brought some bad news about Dr. Dre's long-awaited next album:
Detox album.... cancelled indefinitely =(
Damn.
Posted by jsmooth995 at February 27, 2004 05:15 AM
No F-in' way! What the hell happened?
Is Dr. Dre losing his juice?
Imagine Dre's Detox album featuring collabos with 50 Cent, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, R. Kelly and some songs produced by Jus Blaze, Kanye West and DJ Quick. All of the songs produced in 5.1 surround dolby sound.
It should be Dre's retirement album -- call it Detox: The Last Chronic Album.
That would be some hot shit!
Is Dre is getting tired?!
More info . . . Jus can't leave us hanging like that.

I personally love Dre's work, but dude takes waaaaay too long to get his shxt together. He's either too picky, or just slippin.
When's the last time he produced a WHOLE album anyway?
Posted by: mic at February 27, 2004 01:30 PM
Maybe he should just put out an EP called "Relapse". Dr. Dre certainly holds the world record for most aborted albums.
Posted by: eric at February 27, 2004 03:30 PM
you sound surprised...when the fuck does anything ever come out on time on Aftermath?
Posted by: skinny at February 27, 2004 09:29 PM
collaborations suck. the last thing dre wants to do is drop another Chronic 2000.
he's an old crotchety producer now... get off his lawn and let him do what he wants (make beats, not rap).
Posted by: big zone at February 29, 2004 11:34 AM
you all are some fake fans if you think that DRE is slippin think about it he has 50 cent, Busta Rhymes and Eminem all trying to drop new albums when does he have time to work on his own stuff ya'll trippin ol fake fans!!!!!

The next album from Dr. Dre, The Detox, probably won't hit the street until 2005, said Scott Storch, a co-producer working on the disc. But, he insists, it will be well worth the wait.
"I'd describe it as the most advanced rap album musically and lyrically we'll probably ever have a chance to listen to," he said.
Dre has been working on the LP over the past year, and he and Storch have built dozens of beds of beats, various innovative rhythms and the skeletons for numerous songs, all of which are being fleshed out. No tracks have been titled yet and no final cuts chosen.
"When I work with Dre, he usually does more than 100 records and then picks his favorites," Storch said. "But there are all kinds of new rhythms in there. He always tries to stay a couple of steps ahead of the field. There's gonna be a lot of personal stuff on the album and a lot of hot sh--."
Creating the "most advanced" rap album is no easy task, especially when, like Dre, you're a perfectionist with a reputation as a visionary leader. "Dr. Dre always tries to top his last one," Storch said. "That's why he spends so much time putting them together and they don't come out every five minutes. He puts a lot of time, energy and genius into the stuff."
Like Dre's 1999 album, Chronic 2001, The Detox will feature numerous guest stars. Storch said Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and Knoc-Turn'al would record parts as well as newer names like Lloyd Banks, Guvner and Game.
"The whole family is gonna be on there," Storch said. "If not the last Dre album, this is gonna be one of the last Dre albums we're gonna get. So he's putting a lot into it. It's just a matter of making a classic experience".

this album is gonna be hella dope because the songs all sound sorta old but he made them that way purposly. my best song so far is "2 fist full of dollas" i think it would be hella dope if he did a song with yukmouth and killa tay. or make a personal song that is mixed up from the top two best rappers of all time, 2 pac and kadafi, not biggie but no offense. i think he should also make a remix of "back in the day" by ahmad and make it featuring people like mob deep, and fifty cent, snoop, not lloyd banks, but young buck, and also try to remake summertime in the LBC with more mellow type west coast rappers, put nate dog on that too.
your readin from a trueee genie producer, that makes an album that has five of the greatest top hits niiiiiggggggaaaaaaa

why wouldn't it come out. If I was making the "most advanced rap album musically and lyrically we'll probably ever have a chance to listen to" then i would get a little tired and want to take a break. It will come out. Why listein to a insider named "JB". JB is probility 35 and lives at home with his parents his their basement.

COME ON DRE I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Posted by: Aaron at March 21, 2004 09:37 PM
If it is even half as good as the rest of the dr's beats it will be a classic. I for one am ready to wait for an album that is gonna blow your mind when you hear. Ain't you fools ever heard the sayin Rome wasn't built in a day. If it's a classic its gonna take time. Chill and wait for the time.

yo doggs, dre has got to make this joint. I mean he is a dope rapper man. "barbaques every day" that sh*t is off the meat rack! I think it would be hot if he got will smith on some tracks or weird al, that would be hella dope. Hey how old is dre these days? like 60? well i know that nigga is old....but he is still the dopest senior citazen in the rap game today, no question. alright i'm out yawl....L.B.Cin ya.
