Hold Your Head Up You Silly Girl/Look What You've Done
It seemed so outlandish when Jay-Z called himself "the Martha Stewart who's far from jewish," but pretty soon lots of rappers might illustrate their "realness" by comparing themselves with Martha, who is likely on her way upstate.
It's hard not to chuckle at the thought of jailtime for Martha, and it seems clear that ultimately this is nobody's fault but her own. But honestly my impression (as one who didn't follow this story very closely) is that on another level she's totally getting scapegoated by the government.
With all the corporate scandals in recent years, they need to look like they are going after these things, but of course they'd rather avoid taking down any of the corporate bigwigs with whom they share a bed. So what better solution than to make an example out of Martha Stewart, who is far from a major player in this game and whose crime involved a relatively small amount of money, but whose celebrity name will bring the government tons of publicity as champions of the fight against corporate corruption?

Yeah, I understand that side of it, but on the other hand, I think it really helps to send a message to these celebs that they cannot commit these crimes and get away with it. But yet and still, its not like she was touching someone's child or something...

it's sick that our government spent so much money on this case when there's is much bigger corruption out there.
She did nothing to hurt her stockholders. Yet because of this case her share price has gone way down. So in essence, because of this misguided case HUNDREDS OF HER EMPLOYESS MAY BE LAYED OFF AND THOSE THAT STAY HAVE THEIR PENSIONS IN DANGER. Thank you very much federal prosecutors.

it's too bad people will lose their jobs, but what should we do instead... grant martha immunity? when you work for a business based on the image of a public persona, your job security is low. peace to Kurtis Blow.

Because she tried to save a few thousand dollars (Should have called Geico) hundreds maybe even thousands of investors are affected. Because when her stock tumbles it affects in someway alot of other stocks. Yeah she used a tip.. but why was she the main focus of this thing..the agent that told her was wrong mess up his life not mine and other poor shmucks who want to have something to retire on.

Hey, I find it hard to have sympathy for rich folks when I am struggling to make ends meet. Jay hit it on the head.
Now all of the people who want to believe in the illusion of american society and american "justice" have exactly what they need to keep their dream alive, and the rest of us who know the truth must try to spread the word....
...this system sucks!!
