July 15, 2004A Conversation With Ty
Barry King, Ty, DJ Bizznizz
------------------------------------------------------
I'm also posting this to test the viability of using mp3 instead of realaudio around here. The sound is not as good on the 2nd file, although I encoded them all the same way. Maybe the levels were too high on that one? Ty also did a quick freestyle for us, that I will add later. Posted by jsmooth995 at July 15, 2004 02:54 PMComments
i enjoyed the clips. i hope you make the full interview available soon. i think they have a lot of interesting perspectives and need-to-know knowledge for heads in the u.s. i would really like to know a lot more about the history of hiphop outside of the u.s. are there any documentaties? as for the mp3's. i have no problems with the sound quality. my player was acting up each time i clicked on the links but they still played. did you check out those rm,ra converters i suggested? many people prefer mp3's over realaudio. but if you want to save the more space on your hardrive realaudio is the way to go. Posted by: dialect at July 15, 2004 10:51 PM speaking of UK hip hop, London Posse, Rodney P & Bionic, were a great very much slept-on group by any standard: US, UK or otherwise. They were some of the first cats over there to rhyme with straight-up UK accents and be fly with it. I still love the Gangster Chronicle album now. RIP.... Posted by: ian at July 16, 2004 01:00 AM Excellent Interview! Ty and Roots Manuva should get more respect in the UK and the US. They're definately taking it to a new level. As far as hip hop outside the US, it varies. I would say the UK is just like the US when it comes to hip hop. You got underground acts like Ty and Manuva, but plenty of people listen to the "mainstream" acts like Jay-Z, Little John, etc. The UK has got some great underground talent across the board, though.
