Yeah, Steve's right. The Farrelly Bros. are shooting an American remake of "Fever Pitch," a book written by Nick Hornby ("High Fidelity") about a lifelong soccer fan in London who finally sees his team win the championship after decades of losing. Hence, remaking it around the Sox.
Fortuitous timing that the Sox gave them the perfect ending. That said, those jackasses never, EVER should have been allowed on the field. Of course, I say that as a lifelong Sox fan who's thrilled with the result, but a little bitter that two actors would be on the field at such a great moment just for the sake of a good closing scene.
P.S., I hope that now that you all know the ending with sufficiently cut into the movie's, and Mr. Fallon's, profits.

seeing Fallon on the field trying to steal that singular moment in order to promote his movie was kinda like seeing bush in photo ops with people of color. Or children for that matter. A real "I have no shame, but this'll play great on Fox" feel.
I get a little nauseous just thinking back on it.
