Jin Records Track Dissing Hot 97, Sponsors Pulling Their Ads

1/31/05 UPDATE: The truth about the "informed insider" email

UPDATE: Hot 97 Announces Suspension, Details Unclear So Far

The highly respected Chinese-American emcee Jin just recorded a blistering freestyle track in response to Hot 97's racism, you can download the mp3 here.

And in today's other big news, one of Hot 97's sponsors, the Jackson Hewitt tax service, reports they are pulling their advertising and support from hot 97's morning show, im response to the outcry over their Tsunami song:

Dear Sir/Madam:

We respect and share in your concerns regarding the truly insensitive
and inappropriate behavior of the show's hosts and the airing of the
offensive song. Please be aware that Jackson Hewitt Tax Service does
not endorse or approve of such behavior and had no input or prior knowledge as to the content of the broadcast that aired last week
during the "Miss Jones in the Morning" program.

In fact, we have already contacted station owners and management to express our concerns and to inform them that we have withdrawn our advertising and support from the "Miss Jones in the Morning" program.

We acknowledge that the station has posted an apology, but certainly do not believe that that is enough, considering the serious nature of this matter. Thus we have called upon the station's owners and management to further review this program and its allowance of such behavior.

We thank you for taking the time to reach out to us on this serious matter.

Respectfully,
Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. Management

Bravo to Jackson Hewitt for doing the right thing. If you want to convince other sponsors to do the same, get their contact info here.

Thanks to all of your work spreading the word the story was picked up by hundreds of media outlets yesterday, including the Daily News, Newsday, and the NY Times. Also new coverage from WCBS (with video link), the Village Voice, Reuters, and Billboard, among many others.

Props especially to asianmediawatch.net and asianmediawatchdog.com for their efforts, and the okayplayers Jose3030 and afrikankween52.

Hello Richard:

Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's and share your feelings about our commercial placements. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.First and foremost, please know that the relationship we have with our customers is one we value greatly. Our customers are at the heart of every decision we make, and we would never do anything to intentionally offend any of our customers. When it comes to determining where we advertise, we have an obligation to our customers, employees, franchisees, and shareholders to reach our customers as effectively as possible. To that end, we work hard to have an ongoing dialog with all the media outlets with which we work. We regularly review programming where our advertising messages appear, and strive to associate our messages with programming that is relevant and entertaining and that speaks to our customers in positive environments. That said, it's important to understand that McDonald's is not directly involved with network programming decisions. As an advertiser, our role is not to determine what broadcasters should or should not air. That decision belongs to the broadcaster and, ultimately, to the individual viewer. Whenever we have the opportunity, we talk about the core values of McDonald's that make our brand what it is today. Please be assured that we will continue to search for entertaining, responsible programming for the placement of our commercials. Again, thank you for contacting McDonald's.

You need to send the Jackson Hewitt response to Mc Donalds. Then maybe they will get the hint of what really is going on here.

I think it's because Asians don't have a loud voice in America. In the past, when this has happened didn't it just go away?

That's why I think this time around, we stick together and show it's not going to go away. Let's not make it a "Asians are weak" thing, let's make it a "Minorities come together in strength" thing!

What a respectable firm - Jackson Hewitt!

Everyone, please copy and paste their letter and forward it to the sponsors - especially to Sprint - and let them know that a similar action is warranted. After all, the radio station should not be able to get away from making a mockery of such a tragedy and make blatant racial attacks on top of that.

Posted by: what the hell? at January 25, 2005 09:50 PM

This controversy will fade away in a week or so. The asian community does not have a strong voice in the USA and that is a fact. Most asians are brought up in a family that teaches them to never make a fuss about things. Asians are usually the quiet ones and it shows in school and in public. It's quite evident in the world of politics. It is just the way traditional asians are. And if you have traditional parents (which is 99%) then you'll have traditional childrens. Even though there is a large population of asians, they usually just keep to themselves. Asians are holding themselves down in a sense. If this were about Africans, you'll be damn sure Miss Jones would be fired that same day and all her sponsors would pull out ASAP. It's a sad fact but it's true. It's up to the younger generation asians to stand up and be heard as we all know the older generations are gutless hacks.

Fake names and emails...

1. There are some supporters for the station making comments here that are employees and don't want to be found out.

2. There are some people on here who are disgusted by the complete lack of integrity displayed by management and feel they should get rid of these 2 racists but are also employees of the station and don't want to be found out.

That said...

You can believe your emails aren't getting read. Nobody there cares, it's business as usual. In fact, most people there think this is the best thing that could possibly happen to the station right now with the local competition. How can Star and Buc top global controversy?

They psuedo-apologize and say the staff is getting 1 week pay taken from them. Please, when the ratings come in, those people will probably end up getting a BONUS. If that money _even_ changes hands from the station you can bet it's coming out of the marketing budget, not someone's paycheck.

The real loser in all seems to be Miss Info. She's in the lion's den on a daily basis with nobody to have her back. By standing up to Miss Jones she signed her own pink slip. Her only choice now is to step 'n fetchit for the 'massa in the studio or find somewhere else to work.

Anywhere else in Corporate America that type of treatment would warrant a discrimination lawsuit. The problem with that is doing that would amount to committing career suicide.

In the end, we all lose.

See you all on Friday for what it's worth.

We must maintain our persistence and unite against bigotry. Doing nothing is committing a crime of silence against ourselves and our future generations. If only a few have united in the past, then let us come together as strong as ever. As much as we can't expect hate to instantly disappear, we can still make sure that we are heard. Being heard is a stepping stone. Without that stepping stone, then there will never be a precedence for inspiration. We are all proud people no matter what values and cultures we are brought up with. When another person attacks us with utter disrespect, we must all take a stand and make sure all avenues of repercussions are exercised. I refuse to settle for an insignificant status, as I presume anyone else would feel the same way. Stand up and do something for yourself, or you will regret it. We are all a someone-that-matters.

I was wondering if anyone has contacted the ACLU/NYCLU or the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition in regards to this matter. Both organizations should be willing to lend their support. According to the organization's website: "The National Rainbow/PUSH Coalition (RPC) is a multiracial, multi-issue, international membership organization founded by Rev. Jesse L. From our national headquarters in Chicago and a bureau in Washington, D.C., we're uniting people of diverse ethnic, religious, economic and political backgrounds to make America's promise of 'liberty and justice for all' a reality." I'm rather interested in what Rev. Jesse L. Jackson would have to say about all this.

Prominent English broadcaster fired for tsunami joke
Associated Press
Posted: 6 hours ago
LONDON (AP) - A prominent English sports commentator was fired Tuesday for making a joke about the tsunami disaster.

Marsh lost his hair at a charity event, but lost even more after his tsunami joke left no one laughing. (Shaun Botterill / GettyImages)
Former English soccer player Rodney Marsh made the comment on a Monday night phone-in program on Sky Sports. A Sky spokesman said Marsh apologized on the air for the comments, which were edited when the program was retransmitted.

"During the live nighttime phone-in, Rodney made comments that were offensive and inexcusable," Sky said in a statement. "These remarks should never have been made and Sky would like to offer its apologies to those who were offended."

In his comments, Marsh jokingly said Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham had turned down a transfer to the English club Newcastle after hearing of trouble with the "Toon Army in Asia."

Supporters of Newcastle are called the "Toon Army," which sounds similar to the word "tsunami."

A former striker for Queens Park Rangers, Manchester City and Fulham, Marsh was a regular sports commentator with Sky, Britain's satellite broadcaster.

The FCC has congressional authority to revoke a station license for "indecent" and "profane" broadcasts as well as impose a fine.

GET ANGRY, TAKE ACTION:

I urge all of you who are offended to write to fccinfo@fcc.gov with the following information (which includes everything the FCC asks for to determine their course of action):

During the week of January 16th- January 21st, WQHT, (also known as Hot 97), a local radio station in New York City, has willfully and repeatedly aired a highly offensive parody mocking the victims of the tsunami tragedy while using racial epithets.

The following is an excerpt of the lyrical contents, which aired between the hours of 6am-10am:

"...all at once you could hear the screaming chinks and no one is safe from the wave. There were Africans drowning, little chinamen swept away. You could hear God laughing "swim you bitches swim..."

The following link is an actual recorded segment from the broadcast:
http://www.3030radio.com/longer_hot97_tsunami.mp3

In the middle of the segment one of the DJs can be heard saying "I'm gonna start shooting Asians."

I hereby request the revocation of the station license, or at the very least, a substantial fine for every instance it was aired.

Ok. So any press is good press. Miss Jones sold her soul for some ratings. What's done is done. Forget about her.

Instead ..Target any company advertising on this program and inform them of your disgust.

Here's my latest email to both Hot 97 and Emmis Communications, their parent company:

In response to the lack of action by Hot 97 and Emmis Communications, I also have begun to participate in a campaign that will inform any company advertising on your program of your sickeningly abhorrent radio broadcast.

I believe that any company willing to spend advertising money on this radio show either does not fully understand the seriousness of this incident, or simply does not care. Either way, myself and others will continue to pressure each advertiser until the bigots on the morning show are fired.

"[People are] distinguished from animals by [their] freedom to do evil or to do good and to walk the high road of beauty or tread the low road of ugly degeneracy."

"Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice. Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love."
- M.L. King, Jr.

Above all else, I feel betrayed as a once avid
listener and fan of Hot 97.

So far, I have contacted Sprint, Dunkin Donuts, H&R Block (also their advertising company Campbell-Mithun), McDonald's, and Wendy's and informed them that any further support of the morning show at Hot 97 is unacceptable.

Wendy's has always been a supporter of adoption and the well-being of children, so hopefully the company becomes equally as disgusted with the material contained within that song.

H&R Block - mediadesk@hrblock.com
Since Jackson Hewitt, one of their competitors, dropped their ads from the morning show, maybe H&R Block will wake up as well. All I know is that I've been a returning customer of H&R Block. I will fully support and endorse Jackson Hewitt with my business unless immediate action is taken by H&R Block.

SprintPCS. Let them know that you are in the market for a new phone or that your contract is up for renewal, and you will refuse to support a company that continues to take this issue so lightly. I received similar form-letter responses as others have reported on this site, except when I emailed customer care.

http://www1.sprintpcs.com/learn/form_public_question.jsp

Here's the response:

Dear Mr. Cho,

Thank you for bringing up your concern regarding our advertisement of New York's Hot 97 radio station.

Sprint aims to have a better relationship with our customers. We sincerely apologize for what you have experienced is in contrast to this goal. Please be assured that we are all committed to to satisfy our customers in any way.

Sprint is also here to be constructively criticized by intellectual persons like you. Therefore, your complaint has been noted and will be a reference for Sprint's growth and development.

We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter.

Anyone with 'intellect' would agree that this is about your heart. Inform as many people as you can, and urge them to speak up! Miss Jones is no longer relevant; the DJs and the radio station are only hoping that this publicity stunt will blow over. The only way to get real results is to target their sponsors. When ad money drops, those responsible will fully realize the disgusting seriousness of this incident.

Regardless of your skin color - anyone with a heart needs to take a stand.

Foxnews prints story. Small but at least it's a start, it would be great to get CNN. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,145366,00.html

Google News has a link to the story on BET. All the people on BET board are denouncing HOT97's actions. I'm going to request that Google News put their HOT97 story link on the main page. There are over 108 news articles listed. It's starting, people are getting the word. Keep up the good work! :)

P.S. This is awesome, so many different news outlets are posting about it. Everywhere you look on Google: TX, FL, CA, AL, AR, MO, DC, UK, South Africa, India, MA, Canada, AZ, NC. You might have to click on the search more at the bottom.

BTW the problem is getting coverage, now we should focus on getting attention to the fact that people want more than just an apology.

While I'm all for minorities banding together to protest this insulting act by radio personalities, I think it's quite telling to see where all the known minority activists are... not on the front lines. The only people who are going to fight for Asians are Asians themselves. When you target the DJs, they get publicity. That is what they want. Do not give them the satisfaction. When you lash out against other African-Americans because the actions of these idiots, you might as well have co-written and co-recorded that song yourself.

Instead of ranting pointlessly here, contact the businesses that end up paying the DJ's salaries.

Like you, I don't think 1 paycheck is nearly enough. Make Hot 97 take away all of them.

First, McDonald's does not support programs that discriminate or are insensitive to the plight of people suffering from devastating events. Starting immediately, McDonald's will indefinitely suspend advertising on the Hot 97 morning show.

It's also important to know that Ronald McDonald House Charities, McDonald's Corporation and the McDonald's family around the world have donated more than two million dollars to the Tsunami relief efforts. We take these matters very seriously and will continue to work together to help victims of this devastating disaster.

Again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your concerns.

your input.

Please know that the commercials that we make are for the promotion of our product and service and we do not intend to hurt anyone's feeling

Please know that I have forwarded your note along to the appropriate departments so that they may take further necessary action.

We appreciate you contacting us.

Although there might be miscommunication - I did not say that they are advertising Sprint phones with the tsunami song, just that Sprint continues to advertise on a radio station that repeatedly played this song. Anyways.

Keep it up. Push harder.

Much respect to those who are actually standing up against this putrid act of ignorance and hate. We CANNOT let them get away with just a slap on the wrist. Please remember to acknowledge the sponsors, ie Jackson Hewitt and McDonalds who are withdrawing their ads on Miss Hoes, sorry, Miss Jones' show, it is a bold move by a client to do such a thing. Love and respect to Jin for that tsunami response in the form of music...a retaliation with valid points and passion. As a member of the advertising industry I REFUSED to sit quietly while in a position to do something. I stormed into the office of the Regional Director of Radio for my Los Angeles based firm and presented her with the petitions and articles and advised that are clients in New York be aware of this blatent display of racism. My goal was for all of our clients in New York to agree NOT to sponsor 1 penny to Miss Jones and possibly HOT 97 collectively. It is solely the clients decision to make this call, so i'm hoping they can see that supporting this garbage would be bad for business. Those of you that think you cannot make a difference...think again....keep sending your letters to the sponsers and advertisers...those of you in advertising...NO EXCUSES!!! Talk to your supervisers and make something happen. We CAN get Miss Jones thrown off the air indefinitely if the station is losing advertising money to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars.....FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!

I don't think it's necessary for companies to pull advertising unless Miss jones is allowed back on the air. If Hot 97 takes the correct action and just fire whoever was involved it should be left at that. Miss jones morning show is not a representation of the whole Hot 97 and Miss jones is not a representation of all black peoples opinions. They are the opinions and views of ignorant, irresponsible individuals all around the world.

I a man of color would like to all that was offended even as I was offended also. It made me sick!!!

Hey Christine...good posting I checked out the site!

As for my end...I'm a Journalism major at the University of Connecticut AKA UConn...and first of all I'm offended to utter disbelief at the actions portrayed by HOT 97. And to think I used to like listening to them when I was in the NYC area. As a journalist, I'm utterly offended at how much Miss Jones and her crew has taken the First Amendment and totally used it WAY out of context. If you're gonna do a radio show, do it with tact and a little bit of respect...PLEASE.

On top of that...I've got flyers being put up on campus as well as my AOL away message noting THIS website. Emails have been sent and work will continue to progress.

Jin's rebuttal definitely put a smackdown on the "Tsunami Song" and I give him props for dat one. So many stereotype Asians as being 'quiet and reserved' well this is NOT the case. We got a voice and know how to use it.

One more thing I wanted to add....Miss Jones and her crew are sittin' here dissin NOT ONLY Asians...but dissin ya'll own people? C'mon now... The lyric goes "There were Africans drowning..." How you gonna diss your own people? Are you of not African descent? And if you say NO, Miss Jones, you ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN are you not???? Get a reality check Miss Thang cuz you shamin your own people. DAMN SHAME

What if someone made a song disrespecting victims and families of 9/11?

Posted by: MikeKnox at January 26, 2005 06:05 PM

The bottom line is, this should not be viewed simply as a conflict between races.

Unfortunately, that was what those DJs were hoping for. However, IF THIS WAS JUST ABOUT RACE, THEY WOULD 'WIN'.

They would have gotten the publicity that they wanted. Why do you think these DJs threw in the words chink and chinaman? Just to upset Asians and elicit a response - so that they could sit back and laugh. With their 'audience'.

But guess what. Some of us ain't dumb. ;)

We won't give you the response that you were hoping for.

Instead, we'll contact each and every sponsor that you have. The media picked up the story, locally, nationally, and internationally. So now, the WORLD knows how ignorant those DJs are.

The tsunami hit one month ago. Sickening.

So. Ask Coca-Cola if they believe the tsunami song is funny.

Quote them song, point out that their ads support this type of evil. Other companies that have pulled their ads from this radio show include Jackson Hewitt, McDonalds and Sprint.

So it looks like McDonalds has at least temporarily withdrawn its advertising money from Hot 97.

I read on another news post this morning that a lot of people were calling into the HOT 97 morning show arguing that Miss Jones shouldn't be fired. I wonder if these callers would show such forgiveness toward some radio redneck who played a song making fun of slavery and lynching, and who said that he would like to start shoot blacks. It's a surprise that people are saying that, because everyone on the forums I've read are completely outraged by this behavior, and don't seem to be too forgiving of it.

Posted by: famousJamis at January 27, 2005 12:54 PM

I turned on the radio this morning and there were these two guys talking about how they are taking the place of Miss Jones because she has been suspended "indefinetely". They seemed to be on her side, they kept making the fact that there was media outside and Miss Joes was all over the news seem like it was cool. And that because they are so popular of course there is going to be such excitement. When i heard the clip of the song on the new I was dumbstruck, i completely agree with the person who said that they wouldn't think it was ok if a redneck made a song about slavery. Im only 16 but i just can't believe something like this can happen. I thought they only played it once, but when i found out they played it much more then once i just could not believe it. Miss Jones should definetely be fired and everyone should start listening to power 105.1

Posted by: Tai16 at January 27, 2005 02:08 PM

This saddens me for real. Not juss the song its self but for many other factors like, (1) The statement Miss Jones made 2 Miss Info "You think your superior because your asian, but your not." Is Miss Jones really that STUPID that she couldnt see the issue at hand? (2)And it was played MORE THAN once. (3)and as a BLACK MINORITY DJ all the things african americans went through how dare you think it ok to allow that song to air and it wasnt funny. (4) It said "there were africans dying" What in the hell? isnt Miss Jones "African American?" I saw a picture of her she looks pretty black to me, be real.
Swim you b****es, swim? had they been put in that predicament they would've lost it. And ONE weeks pay to hell with that take a YEARS pay and fire'em. Anyone who allowed that to air and laughed at it inside that building should've been fired on the spot. B/c let them had said you niggers or some other type of B.S. like that Miss Jones would've got upset and she cant deny that she wouldnt.
My heart goes out to the people who were in the tsunami god bless them and my heart goes out to Miss' Jones family b/c i would not even look at her.
Special big ups to Jin and Miss Info cuz y'all did ya thing.
And as much as i hate to say it, and type it, God for give me I hope Miss Jones and every1 else who found it funny, and whoeva mixed it, whoeva sung it, and whoeva wrote it i hope y'all burn in hell. If this is wat freedom of speech is headed the United States of America will be communist soon. juss b/c of that type of crap rite there.
I'm asking anyone who reads this and has heard the song and read the lyircs please send up sum prayers b/c anyone could've be in that type of tragedy and we are blessed that we arent. Thank you

Good work, youngbloods.

Back in my day 25 years ago racism directed at Asians was a taboo subject (when you have time look up the late Vincent Chin.) We did not have the economic and political power to make a difference then but we did have a plan - to work our collective asses off so our children would be better educated, and politically and media savvy enough to make a difference. It affected us old dogs back then as much as it does you today, but you now have the means and the medium to verbalize a message that angered us a generation ago that we WILL NOT be marginalized, trivialized, or treated with any less dignity than anyone else.

Enjoy that hippity-hoppity stuff or whatever its called and know that even though we have trouble verbalizing it, we are and always have been proud of your generation. You make a difference for all of us.

That song is unacceptable...for years people have been preaching equality and understanding, and now Miss Jones has to do something to set all minorities back at least 10 years...Ratings or not, the song was in serious bad taste...

On a different note, I have a new found respect for Jin...I just thought he was good battle mc, but with his "Tsunami Response," I am now a fan and a believer...It's about time someone in the Asian community stands up and fights for what is right by exposing all injustices and fighting prejudices we face...

I asked a Korean college student studying in China what she thought of black people in general. She stated we dont deny they are human but we think they are different then us. I said so you dont think white people are different from you guys. She then ignorantly stated well yes but they seem to be more educated and nice. At that moment I practically had steam coming from my ears when I heard that word nice. Blacks are not the ones who killed off a nation of indigenous people. Blacks are not the ones who raped a continent of its natural resources and enslaved, raped and murdered the inhabitants; but whites are nice. This photo to the left is showing whites in all their educated niceness.

I was inspired to create this site after reading about Asian Americans becoming irate over some black disk jockeys making racist comments about the tsunami victims in south east Asia. Well though I think this was in bad taste and childish will I cry a river over this no. A Korean woman shot a black teen in the face with a nine millimeter pistol over a bottle of orange juice because the teen punched her, where was the Asian American outrage then. The average Asian is truly something special. They talk about how blacks are racist, ugly, and uneducated, tell me why then do Asians flock by the boat loads to America where there are over 35 millions blacks when they can stay in there own splendid countries and be lucky to see one black person.

I will take a stab at my own question since I have traveled extensively across Asia, Korea the Philippines, Taiwan etc.... what I noticed about these countries Korea in particular is that pollution, prostitution and corruption is rampant. That alone pretty much eradicates the fallacy that Asians are born intelligent articulate and nice. I learned how middle class Koreans prey on Filipinos using them to line there pockets because of the low economic status in the Philippines. They virtually enslave them to work in their sweat shops for little pay the same why they come to America and exploit blacks economic position I even know of personal stories of Koreans lying to young filipinas giving them hopes and dreams of jobs with good pay only to get them to Korea and force them into sexual slavery. But wait this is not the behavior of the supposed intelligent articulate friendly Asian.

One last point about the tsunami, where was the all powerful Asian brain why was the outcry of help from western nations so great when all the Asian countries are located right there in that region. Millions are starving to death and dying from war and AIDS in Africa and a wave kills some 200,000 people who were brainless to live and vacation at a oceanic beach front knowing the risk they were taking and the whole world cries a river. I am not some brainless nitwit I know this behavior does not reflect all Asians just as those morons at hot 97 do not reflect all blacks but when Asians start their condescending rhetoric I am always there to knock them down a few pegs.

If the tables were turned and it was about black people, he'd be pretty frigging madd too. Sounds like he's grudgingly apologetic bc u put him on the spot. Also, outside the racism thing that he keeps denying, there's the blatant disregard and disrespect for the victims of the tsunami. It's a global, itnernational tragedy, that has been communally mourned for and should be helped not smirked upon.

Posted by: jennyq at January 28, 2005 12:14 PM

Note this is just to make "Ill-Will" look like the dumbass he is. This what an asian person can say if he let hatred make him stupid. I do not mean to offend anymore...i just like to make "haters" feel stupid.

For the first sentence where was the all powerful african-lion-killing muscle when the white man enslaved your ass. Why did you seek help from a whiteman for your freedom (Abe Lincoln).

2nd

Why don't africans stop fucking with no condoms if they know most of their race got aids? Why can't you get your own aids medicine? Why you gotta get it from the whiteman?

1st

Why did africans get mad when the whiteman decided to enslave your ass.

2nd

The korean woman shot the kid, because she got punched. IT WAS A WOMAN TOO, DUMBFUCK. Would you shoot someone if they walked into your store, took a drink, punched you in the face for saying "don't steal". Are you fucking dumb? Anyone would shoot a person for stealing from them. That's why there was no public outroar dumbass.

3rd

Asians don't come here for your black asses. We come here to make money foo'. You must forget Blacks are still the minority. Atleast we came over with free will and not enslaved.

Oh yeah and most of the people who died were indians which made ms.jones look even more stupid(chinamen? idiot). Read over your post and you're see how truly stupid you are...and the ignorance of what you say. I have no faith in black people, even when trying to be smart they fail.

I really have no comment about all this bull. Yes I am angry. As a matter of fact I am furious not only because they made racist comments, but because they are disrespecting those who died from the Tsunami and those who are still mourning their loved ones. I hope when it's their turn to die, that it's all over the news, so I can hear about it and laugh at them when they're heading down to hell! They have tasteless sense of humor and no real remorse coming from that lame ass "sorry-because we hav to and-we want to keep our jobs-apology". LOSERS!
Thank GOD! I'm no longer a Sprint customer. They suck ass anyway! And I will no longer support and waste my money on those companies who are still sponsoring the ignorant crew.
Please encourage EVERYONE, not only the Asian race, to sign the Petition. Those who doesn't care should kiss my big round juicy ass. In response to Humored, you have some really strong points about what Ill-Willed said and I am in total agreement with what you are saying. Except for the part of "I have no faith in black people, even when trying to be smart they fail." Well that is just your opinion. In fact, what everyone needs to stop saying is "black people this" or "white people that" or "asian people this". No matter what race you are each person has their own opinion based on where they are from, how they have been raised, or just their experience or lack thereof. It seems that both of you are intelligent human beings but your downfalls is the fact that you have hate for other races which is not smart. I personally would not want to be judged on my character just because of my looks.

DAMN...I'M SHOCKED, HORRORFIED AND AMAZED THAT THE SONG WAS APPROVED TO BE BROADCAST WORTHY!

YEAH I'M AFRICAN AMERICAN, WHATEVER THAT MEANS, EMBARRASSED ABOUT HOW STUPID TO MAKE FUN OF THE TSUNAMI DISASTER! DO THAT WITH SEPT.11 AND THAT BITCH MS. JONES & CREW WOULD ALL COME UP MYSTERIOUSLY MISSING, BY SOME MEN IN SUITS AND CELL PHONES. ANYWAY I LOVE JIN'S RESPONSE TRACK, WISH THE MOUNTAIN BROS. WOULD FOLLOW NEXT, AFRICAN AMERICANS DON'T FEEL THAT WAY "TRUST ME"!

LIKE CHRIS ROCK SAID "THERE'S A CIVIL WAR IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE... THERE'S NIGGERS AND BLACK PEOPLE ....AND THE NIGGERS HAVE GOT TO GO!!!!! I LIKE WHAT ASIAN RENEGADE HAS HIS PHOTO HOLDING A PICKET SIGN SAYING IS NOT "BLACK VS ASIANS"

Two fired over offensive radio tsunami parody
Wednesday, February 2, 2005
Producer Rick Del Gado and co-host Todd Lynn were fired.

Three other members of the morning crew, including star Tarsha "Miss" Jones, remain in the middle of a two-week suspension that ends Feb. 9. Their salaries from those two weeks will be donated to tsunami relief.

New York City Council Member John C. Liu condemned the moves by Emmis as "too little, too late."

Posted by: coolJ at February 3, 2005 02:33 AM

Have you guys seen Emmis Communications stock slide. There was a little upswing due to the first few days of uproar over this disgrace, but it went down down down! Keep sliding baby! Woo-hoo! The Emmis stock symbol is EMMS.

Posted by: Elsa at February 7, 2005 10:35 PM

Gee, I bet Todd Lynn and Rick Delgado are resentful about how Miss Jones didn't go down along with them! That's gotta be pretty demeaning, huh? I wonder whatever Miss Jones has said behind their backs to save her own ass. I would watch my back if I were you, Miss Jones. Lynn and Delgado were once your partners-in-crime, but now, they could be you biggest rivals/enemies.

This is in responce to remarks made by lil jay.I would like to say that his comment is one of the most ignorant and asinine statement that i have ever had the displesure of reading.Lil jay has just proven how shallow and small minded his comments are and grow up.Iraly dont think arstis like Eminem or Dejon front man of Sevandust would agree and I know that I dont and I hope that i am not alone in my thinking or this world we live in is going in the wrong direction.

I agree with you the way you view the issue. I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has positive side. It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion.
