February 04, 2005Miss Info Ponders Lawsuit, Immortal Technique Ponders the Big PictureThe Daily News reports that Miss Info is considering a lawsuit against Hot 97. Meanwhile Jeff Chang and Oliver Wang (here and here) are stepping back to look for the big picture, as is Davey D in the San Jose Mercury News. On our radio show last week I spoke with DJ Kuttin Kandi, community activist Allison Faelnar and Immortal Technique, you can hear our discussion here. As it stands now, Todd Lynn and Rick Delgado are fired, Emmis is giving a million to Tsunami aid. While Miss Jones and the rest of her crew will return to the airwaves on Feb. 9th, which happens to be the So how do you all feel at this point? What, if anything, has been accomplished? What more needs to be done, both short term and long term? I am going to start posting about other subjects again, in order to maintain my sanity. but I will continue to post updates on this issue too as more news comes in, which it surely will. Please do not let Miss Jones back on the radio. I had the opportunity to listen to her once and that lady doesn't deserve to be heard on the airwaves. She's insensitive, rude, and disrespectful. Posted by: TKO at February 4, 2005 04:14 PM Oh yea. I wanted to say thank you to hiphopmusic.com for keeping everyone updated on what's going on. I appreciate it very much and so do many others. Posted by: TKO at February 4, 2005 04:24 PM I want Miss Jones fired just as well! She was part of it. Her half-ass apology just doesn't cut it. Posted by: TZ at February 4, 2005 04:29 PM I don't see anything about a Miss Info lawsuit. Posted by: Hashim at February 4, 2005 04:54 PM Thanks for keeping us updated on the situation. Personally, I think Emmis's $1m pledge is enough, and instead of asking for further monetary contributions, Congressman Liu should focus on getting Miss Jones fired. That's pretty much all I want to see now at this point. Posted by: Skyla at February 4, 2005 05:08 PM whatever it is congressman liu is doing, he jsut has to keep with it. he has the right intentions-and hes sending the right message. thank you for keeping everyone so updated n being the ground zero for where we all have gotten the info to put up on our own blogs and to tell our own friends and to keep spreadin the word. let's hope that something truly good comes out of this and some REAL change can occur now. Posted by: jenn at February 4, 2005 05:36 PM I think the tsunami song was insensitive, as were the comments that Ms. Jones made to Ms. Info (I see it as a statement that one makes while they are under the influence; Jonsee f**ked up). But I don't think that anyone should have been fired. If anyone listens to morning radio they will know that the personalities go far for ratings and that they are egged on by their bosses. No one ever fired or reprimanded Howard Stern for dissing Black folks, not even those Black politicians who appeared on t.v. with Councilman Liu. Posted by: Un at February 4, 2005 05:46 PM Jay, Is it possible to post this on the main page? Thanks! My t-shirt co made some T-Shirts about the Hot 97/Tsunami issue, buy your shirt today! 100% of the profits goes to the UNICEF Tsunami Relief Fund. Please spread the word so we can raise as much money as possible and turn a negative into a positive. Although we are fighting the struggle against HOT 97, we can't forget about the people on the otherside of the world that are fighting a struggle on some whole other next shit. Jin's website has just posted info about the shirts also. The shirts are at: www.MuckItTees.com We have had a great start raising money through these shirts. So thanks to everyone who has supported the cause and donated to the people who really need it. If you cant buy one, tell a friend about the shirts or please make a donation to www.unicefusa.org. Posted by: Mike at February 4, 2005 05:51 PM I believe Ms. Info should sue, after hearing that argument it appears that there was building tension there. I also feel Emmis' 1 million contribution should be enough, but ALL of the staff, ESPECIALLY Ms. Jones should be fired -Ms. Info. FIRE JONES, FIRE JONES, FIRE JONES, FIRE JONES Posted by: sierra at February 4, 2005 05:59 PM Isn't it ironic that LIZZIE GRUBMAN is her PR rep?? Send her ass some love too :) Check the link below for email form: www.grubmanpr.com/ Posted by: Sean at February 4, 2005 06:37 PM yeah, jonesy should be fired. emmis is so fucked up. they really need to clean house, from top (programming) to bottom (show producers). that shit's completely inexcusable. Posted by: beelove at February 4, 2005 06:54 PM I think this was all done for publicity because Star and Buc are back in NYC on a rival station. They knew what they were doing. As for an earlier email mentioning Miss Jones has nothing to do with it I think it is BS, she is a grown woman well over 30 years old she should have been mature enough to understand the situation. She was in a similar situation with Star and Buc when they were playing the Aaliyah plane crash over and over which Miss Jone objected and walked away. I remember last month 50 Cent handed over a record to Flex. Flex refused to play the song because it was attacking other rappers and he didn't want any violence in the street. Miss Jones should have done the same. I think 1 million dollars is good enough, dont sweat it too much that she is not getting fire, just flip the switch to Power 105, Star and Buc is more entertaining anyway. Karma is going to get Miss Jones for her making this Tsunami song about the death of 200,000 people, if you have heart there is no way you can find humor in the Tsunami incident. I am a man I shed some tears every time I watch the News. Imagine the survivors that heard this song I bet you they are outrage. I suggest everyone switch to a new station if you are upset about it. When I was a teen I did like Hot 97, but as I got older I got wiser. I like more positive stimulating and underground Hip Hop now. Hot 97 is garbage. Posted by: Subtention at February 4, 2005 07:14 PM I think Miss Jones really needs to be fired. Her on air comments, playing the "song" when someone called to complain about it, her half-assed apology, etc. Putting her back on the air for on New Year's Day demonstrates that "Hot 97" just does not get it. I hope Miss Info cleans up, big time. Posted by: S.D. at February 4, 2005 07:27 PM She is going to hell anyway if she does not get fire. Making a racial song attacking the Tsunami victim is not humorous. Posted by: Subtention at February 4, 2005 07:40 PM So now Liu is backing down on Ms Jones? I wonder how much he's getting for that move? The song was terrible, but the abuse she heaped on Ms Info was worse. Fire Jones or this was all for nothing. Posted by: vreal at February 4, 2005 07:49 PM Yo...Miss Jones needs to be fired!!! The way she attacked Ms. Info for standing up what she believes in and did anyone hear that part when they were referring to the tsunami victims "Nah, this is bigger than the tsunami song" (referring to her beef with miss info)? No character, no talent, nothing, fire her!!!!! Posted by: DJ at February 4, 2005 07:56 PM Everyone who sang on the tsunami song should be fired. That would be justice for all. Posted by: gerson at February 4, 2005 08:19 PM Miss Jones is not that bright anyway, she is around 30 something and she is not a woman yet. Turn the negative energy into something more positive and constructive, listean to some real hip hop not the commerical garbage that brainwash you. Miss Jones is going to lose listeaner to Star and Buc anyway. I listean to their show while driving to work. Seriously this is the best revenge is change the channel. Posted by: Subtention at February 4, 2005 08:29 PM God damn people! The tone on this comment thread is reminding me of why I kind of backed off the underground hip-hop scene. The pretentiousness of everything is going over the top. Yes, the song is wrong. But damn, what do you want to do with Miss Jones? Ban her from working anywhere anytime and force her to spend the rest of her days assisting tsunami victims? Also, I think people are talking about the Miss Jones/Miss Info spat out of context. If you've listened to the show on a regular basis, it's clear that they didn't exactly get along in the first place, and the MP3 of their argument makes a lot more sense in light of this fact. And to that dude who thumbs his nose up, saying he only listens to "positive" hip-hop, Fuck you! And I mean it in hte most positive way possible. Look. Not everyone wants to talk about feeling and soulquarian bullshit all the time. I'm not necessarily saying everything has to be all drug-dealing and gangsta all the time either. All I ask is that hip-hop be here on earth, not in the boughy mind of someone who think he's smart b/c he doesn't wear labels and has read more than 3 books. Posted by: Todd at February 4, 2005 08:31 PM You seem upset Todd. She is not going to last long at Hot 97 trust me. Everyone is switching over to Power 105 for Star and Buc. This is the reason they did the racial Tsunami song they knew the outcome in advance that they will get major exposure on all the news station and everyone around the Tri-State will tune to Hot 97, even I tune away from Star n Buc to Hot 97 because I was curious. Now they are promoting that she will be back, everyone will fall for the trap and tune to Hot 97 to see what she is going to say about the incident... marketing ploy my friend. Posted by: Subtention at February 4, 2005 08:48 PM THEY SHOULD FIRED HER FAT STINKING RACIST ASS. Posted by: SomeWhiteGuy at February 4, 2005 09:08 PM I personally do not think that $1 million was enough of a loss for EMMIS. I have said before, they will just write this off as a tax deduction. SCREW THAT. Punish them. FCC should really have penalized them for the offending remarks they have made. Jones should be fired for being too dumb to learn from her mistakes. She was fired once before for racial slurs.... Hot 97 just makes it easier for her to keep repeating them. Posted by: AMY at February 4, 2005 09:11 PM The FCC is not going to do anything because the FCC is runned by a black guy, Colin Powell's son. Posted by: PissedOff@hot97.com at February 4, 2005 09:15 PM Todd, yes I think Ms. Jones should never be allowed to be heard on the airways ever again, when she was in Philly at Radio One last summer before she was FIRED and fled back to NY she said that "Whitney Houston brother molested Whitneys daughter, she said that Brandy's baby's daddy was her husbands' cousin which were not true, she was suspended numerous times, so I say this to say that someone who has continuos Reckless behavior and does not care what they say or do does not deserve the airways. I just hope this time her mouth wrote a check her but can't cash. Posted by: sierra at February 4, 2005 09:43 PM What I'm really worried is that what if some terrorist gets a hold of this tsunami lyric? After all, it originated from a prominent NYC radio station. The terrorists could use the lyrics to stoke some anti-US sentiment, and give ammo to mount an attack on U.S. soil. We are living in an boundaryless era of the internet. Stuff like these can get disseminated in no time. Posted by: Young Wook Kwon at February 4, 2005 09:50 PM I still don't get it. The papers quote Hot 97 suits saying Todd Lynn was fired for racist comments. They say Miss Jones had nothing to do with the song. That it was all their producer. So what does that say about how they feel about Jones' comments to Miss Info that morning? It was Miss Jones that said "do you think you're superior cause you're Asian? Well you're not" And its Miss Info suing Hot 97 for a creating a hostile environment. Did she imagine it. Hot97 acts like it was all ok and jus showbiz. Info doesnt seem to think so. And when is someone gon step up n admit that others heard the song. heard it and loved what it meant for their ratings? No doubt they're just hopin itll blow over and be one more publicity stunt. Hot 97 programming set hip hop back 20 years with this one. Posted by: Fair&Unbalanced at February 4, 2005 09:50 PM I think sometimes we have to forgive people and hope she learned from it. Posted by: Subtention at February 4, 2005 09:55 PM Everyone including Jeff Chang and Oliver Wang talk about sponsors pulling their ads from Hot 97. What world are they living in? I still hear McDonald's on the station. Angie still shills for the wireless companies. It's a joke. No one took it that seriously to begin with. The advertisers got a little nervous when the protesters started making noise. But it'll all blow over. It was just another tasteless shock jock prank. You think McDonalds wants to give up all those impressionable ears over a little racist comment? Posted by: Fresh Baked at February 4, 2005 10:00 PM Plain and simple.
Posted by: aileen at February 4, 2005 11:13 PM It's pretty bad when even the King of Shock Jock -Howard Stern...denounces this distasteful song. Posted by: Justin at February 4, 2005 11:14 PM Howard Stern was probably sad that he didn't think of it... Posted by: S.D. at February 4, 2005 11:20 PM Miss Jones should be fired. Posted by: ben at February 4, 2005 11:56 PM Miss Jones needs to be fired! There's no reason that she should be let off the hook. Honestly, I don't care about the money. That's just their way of buying us off. I'd rather have them keep their "pity money" and have Miss Jones fired. I really think that if Miss Jones isn't taken off the air, we haven't really accomplished what we set out to do. The launching of a rival radio station is no excuse for their behavior. I watched the Hannity and Combs show and a former Hot 97 personality was on. Lisa G, I believe her name was. She seemed to think that it was justified because the rivals were on a new station. I'm just completely frustrated with this because the real perpetrator still hasn't been brought forward. Justice has yet to be served. That is until Miss Jones is fired and is properly punished for her actions. Posted by: KhmerGirl at February 5, 2005 12:17 AM Until Ms. Jones is fired or the FCC penalizes Hot 97, keep the emails and calls going! I suggest writing a complaint letter to the FCC and CC'ing everyone on it as well, including Emmis. That way you don't have to write to each individual organization which can be pretty time consuming.

Posted by: kelly at February 5, 2005 12:43 AM I think we're using Miss Jones and Hot97 as scapegoats--of course, what they did was offensive and tasteless, but they're only symptons of a larger problem--which is that since the tsunami was in Asia and in developing countries, it's okay to ignore it and reduce it to another news item lining your browser. In a few weeks this will all be forgotten, all because it didn't happen to us. Posted by: Kate at February 5, 2005 12:57 AM FIRED MISS JONES!!!!!! I swear, you post that shit one more time and peeps won't take you seriously that you're actually gonna donate that money. Hopefully you really do donate that money -- all $100 of it to the tsunami fund! Posted by: niggapuhlease@forfuckssake.com at February 5, 2005 04:32 AM British MPs deplore Hot 97's racist Tsunami Song British Parliamentarians have raised the issue of the racist Tsunami Song aired over Hot 97 the hip hop radio station. The song was blatantly racist and was a slur against Chinese people and other Asians. Hot 97's Tsunami Song laughed at the deaths of tens of thousands of people who perished as a result of the terrible tsunami of 26th December 2004 which devastated Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South India, Thailand, Maldives, Andaman Islands and even affected Malasiya and Myanmar. It was the world's worst natural disaster. The Chinese Community in the United Kingdom have joined with Asian Communities in the UK and Asian Americans in the USA in protesting against the racism of Hot 97. US President George Bush has been urged to take action against Emmis Radio and Hot 97 for bringing America into disrepute. Emmis Radio have only suspended Miss Jones for two weeks despite her racist outbursts and being a willing singer of the Tsunami Song. People in the UK are calling for the resignation of Miss Jones. Others have even called for the resignation of Richard Cummings, President of Emmis Radio for ignoring the cruel song which was aired for over a week on Hot 97 radio. Now British parliamentarians have deplored the Tsunami Song in an early day motion tabled in the House of Commons in the Palace of Westminster. EDM 638 states: HOT 97'S RACIST TSUNAMI SONG 'That this House deplores the racist Tsunami Song aired on Hot 97 radio station in New York; calls upon Richard Cummings, President of Emmis Radio, to take firm action against those who aired the song beyond the temporary suspension; and commends the heartfelt tsunami song composed by British Sri-Lankan Nimal Mendis..... ' The Chinese Community in the UK have been urged to make the strongest protests against this song with their local members of parliament at the House of Commons London SW1A OAA in the UK and the American Embassy in London. They have also been requested to send their protests in writing to: Hot 97 WQHT-FM Barry Mayo, General Manager, Hot 97 WQHT-FM Emmis Communications Jeffrey H Smulyan, Chairman and CEO, Emmis Communications Federal Communications Commission To listen to Hot 97's Tsunami Song: U.S. Embassy, London Switchboard: [44] (0)20 7499-9000 Posted by: JazzieB at February 5, 2005 09:28 AM Fire all involved because of the racist comments and the cruelty of asking Ms. Info to ignore her conscience in favor of raw power; and also a lot more money for the tsunami victims over a period of time (say a year) because after the initial shock a lot of people will forget about South Asia. Posted by: ny at February 5, 2005 09:30 AM You realize how many hits there were on their website (hot97)? That's a whole lotta dollars talking. As the anchor of the show, she is necessary to achieve the ratings. That's why it was so easy to fire Todd and Rick. They are replaceable! I emailed the President. I read Wang's article. Maybe I should email the secretary of Education or any other secretary for that matter since Bush is so concerned about my social security! Posted by: Sean Koulab at February 5, 2005 10:19 AM I cannot stand Miss Jones i cant belive she isnt off the air for that crap she pulled how dare they keep her on the air i dont even listen to hot 97 because everyone i use to listen to left that korny station the only station i listen to is power 105 in nyc so i really dont care what happens to hot 97 they should of been got kicked off the air when they tried to that stupid Aaliyah joke after that chic died those people are sick! Posted by: chantelle at February 5, 2005 11:40 AM they probably keeping miss jones cuz she'll pull the RACE CARD on them and sue hot97 for firing her... Posted by: respect at February 5, 2005 01:18 PM Hey, I just wanted to thank you for your in-depth coverage on this matter. If not for you and your regular blog posts that keep people up to date, I don't think that the issue would have gotten as much coverage. You definitely played a big part in helping people be heard. THANK YOU! Posted by: Maria at February 5, 2005 01:53 PM I hope that everyone, or those who can't tell someone who can, comes out on 2/9/05, when Ms. Jones, returns to the station, her return say's alot about Emmis. It's unfortunate that they think so LESS of the people or listeners' that they thought we would enjoy it. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PERSON WHO WROTE IT, I CARE MORE ABOUT THE EVIL PEOPLE WHO SAT ON THAT CHIOR AND SANG AND THE HOST WHO CHOSE TO PLAY IT. FIRE JONES, FIRE JONES Posted by: ray at February 5, 2005 02:15 PM Miss Jones should be fired. No doubt. Posted by: noname at February 5, 2005 02:53 PM it feels good to see how much has been accomplished. to be honest, when i first heard what had happened, i didn't think it would have gone much further than the song being pulled off the air .. but to have corporate sponsors take away their advertisements, people fired, apologies made, money donated, international media attention (and condemnation) .. WOW. we are so awesome. people are sitting up and taking notice. i think everyone will think twice about ever trying to pull a stunt like this again. i have never seen such a large group of people mobilize so quickly and efficiently. what we need to do now is keep it up, and remain consistent with our reactions. unfortunately, i think that the magnitude of the response had more to do with the tsunami tragedy than its racist content.. Posted by: eunice at February 5, 2005 07:04 PM It's an atrocity that Ms. Jones will be allowed to return to the airwaves!! She of all people needs to be fired! Her track record is horrible, which reflects the true person she is. How does someone so disrespectful allowed to keep her job?!? Thank you, hiphopmusic.com for your endless work on this topic, and for keeping so many informed. Posted by: kanush at February 5, 2005 07:14 PM Frankly, I am not so sure about the "1 million good enough" idea; I believe we should first find out how much it will cost them to, say, donate 1-week-worth of advertisement income, insted of just their salary. One painful fact is that the people living at the affected area don't care the much about whether Miss Info get fired or not, as least not as much as how much Emmis is going to donate (that is, if they ever have the chance to learn about this whole matter). Posted by: ALP at February 5, 2005 07:19 PM Hi, I'm just 16, but at least I'm not childish like those idiots on the radio. Why the fuck are they ONLY suspended? That's some BS. And that comment about Asians being superior? Yeah, we are superior. At least we're not making racist songs like you are. Who's the immature and childish ones now? DUMBASSES! KISS MY ASIAN ASS. As an Asian American and as a human being, Tsunami song just makes me sick and angry at that Miss Jones. I can't imagine my child ripped out of your arms and your whole family swallowed up by a tsunami. She is one sick, heartless demon. I so wish I can say... YOUR FIRED to her face. She's got to go!! I think that councilman Liu should push to get rid of Miss JOnes. Thanks again for your updates. You great!! By the way, I'm Asian and I don't think I'm superior. Where is the compassion these days!! Posted by: jr at February 5, 2005 10:19 PM YES! Definitely, Miss Jones does not deserve to have the honor of being on the air. The "Tsunami Song" was completely disgusting and appalling, not to mention the TUNE OF THE SONG! The irony of the song's tune to be Michael Jackson's "We are the World" tune. If Miss Jones doesn't get fired, it only shows how asian discrimination is not taken seriously, and as Jin says in his song, it is "swept under the rug". Everyone...KEEP FIGHTING AGAINST HOT 97'S MISS JONES AND SIGNING PETITIONS! WE can't let these things passssss Posted by: hkshhs at February 5, 2005 10:38 PM I don't see what's the big deal. Yes they made an offensive song about the tsunami and it's victims but is that a reason be fired? I don't think so. Of course people will be offended. They only got in trouble because they said it in public, radio. If they weren't in the entertainment industry (where millions of people see and listen to you) nobody would have known. And this wouldn't be going on right now. The morning show make fun of everybody and everything but yet they get in trouble for a major tragedy. Listeners of the show call the station and complain when they are offended by their daily conversations. All these damn people protesting and shit don't have nothing else to do and decided to leave the house for once. I didn't hear the song but I wish I did. I don't agree with them even thinking about making a song about this but the consequences and all the attention is ridiculous! I don't think they should have gotten suspended and Todd and the producer shouldn't have gotten fired. It was a joke, A JOKE! DAMN Get over it yall. They are coming back so stop your bitching! LOL Posted by: nea at February 5, 2005 11:25 PM nea, I suggest you listen to the song and learn about the whole story before jumping to conclusions. It would help you see the bigger picture. Posted by: Pinkie at February 6, 2005 01:10 AM nea, I suggest you go get your eyes and ears check, because this song is more then a big deal. It's poking fun of dead people, including children. I don't see anything funny about that. The morning show can make fun of anything they want for all I care, but they've gone far beyond the limits of humor. If Miss Jones had a brain, she would've stopped the airing of this song. But she didn't, and when people call in to complain...her retarded ass played it over and over again. If she had some common sense, she would've stop playing the song and apologize immediately. People that went out and protest did the right thing and for the right cause. Unlike you, who sit your fat ass at home and talk shit when you dont know crap. What's ridiculous is an ignorant fool like YOU, and Miss Jones are still living. So you should shut the fuck up already! Posted by: S at February 6, 2005 02:43 AM Seriously Nea, are you THAT stupid?....yea it's people like you who dont give a shit about anything that's infesting this world. Everything's a fuckn joke right? People dying's a fuckn joke, countries being wiped out is a fuckn joke..i wonder how you'll react when you're the one swept out to sea floating on the carcass of YOUR dead mother...hey..i'm laughing already!!! haha stay in school...you have nothing else going for you. Posted by: UrADumbass at February 6, 2005 02:59 AM The only reason why Miss Jones would say that Miss info felt superior is because of her own paranoia about her own self worth. If making fun of other races the way she does makes her happy, it just proves to show the bitch needs to get laid or a dick shoved in her mouth to stop HER fuckn bitching. Posted by: UrADumbass at February 6, 2005 03:14 AM nea, to you and Ms. Jones "free school and dumb niggers" Posted by: nieema at February 6, 2005 07:08 AM now THATS funny! Posted by: -- at February 6, 2005 09:34 AM Asking for more money is not necesary. I just want Miss Jones to be fired. Youc can tell she is not sorry AT ALL. She doesn't deserve to be heard. kate Posted by: Kate at February 6, 2005 09:44 AM Nea, What makes public media public is that everybody can see or hear it, and this in turn gives the media some kind of responsibility in its behavior. This is very different from overhearing somebody around you to make a cruel joke. Oh and about the "joke" itself (I have actually tried to make effort to laugh at it, and failed), it is really cruel. Saying "it is just a joke" doesn't explain anything at all. Posted by: ALP at February 6, 2005 11:17 PM And Kate about the money...I want to get Miss Jones (et al) fired too, but try to think in the victims' perspectives; I do believe they would need the money more. Don't let the whole mess shift our attention away from what supposed to be our primary focus, that is, to help those who are affected in the disaster. Besides, the Emmis executives are probably laughing right now, at how they managed to get away from the (major) criticism. We are mad at Miss Jones only because we can hear her; this doesn't mean there aren't more behind that are responsible for this. But then, we do still need to get her sacked. Posted by: ALP at February 6, 2005 11:28 PM There should def be a demonstration in front of the station on Feb. 9th, no doubt. Posted by: Rosita at February 6, 2005 11:35 PM AND the station should be flooded with phone calls...starting tomorrow. Posted by: Rosita at February 6, 2005 11:36 PM ^ o...k... we all know that u have some sort of asian phobia. what's the matter? got rejected by all the asians out there that finds u repulsive and ugly? Or is it possible that you had sex with miss jones and defending that fat cow, or maybe ur that fat cow herself!!! yes, that explains ur dumbass remarks, how sad. Poor lil ignorant person don't have the balls to make a more educated offense... *sigh* Posted by: tommy at February 7, 2005 08:06 AM first off....don't bother wasting yor time with the FCC complaints. They can't do ANYTHING about a song in bad taste. Nuff said on that. Secondly, don't bother trying to keep bugging Emmis to fire Miss Jones, they won't...they've already shown that. Third...Congressman Lui will only stay on this if they don't throw him some money and as soon as you see him back down, guess who got paid. Last and not least.....the 15 people who constant post here....GET A LIFE!!!! Most of you losers probably don't live in NYC or around it to hear HOT97 so NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK!!!! The advertisers will come back, they always do, the company will make 3 times what they lost in revenue thanks to "YOUR" efforts to keep this in the news and 200,000 plus people will still be dead. Move on and do something with your life.....oh and anyone who thinks Miss Info had NOTHING to do with this is out of their minds. Not only did she not say something until just before the Asian Media Watch complaint, I read that she was heard at one earlier playing of the song laughing along and making fun of the others who sang on it. Talk about an opportunistic bitch.....that right there is the worst kind of racism. I am BlowTed and I am out!! ps....Star and Buck SUCK....they're not funny, interesting or dynamic....he's all hype and he has been trying like crazy to get his name included in all this...I've heard his desperate attempts...sad really. pss....and TKO, the first posting here...you described Miss Jones as "She's insensitive, rude, and disrespectful." Congrats, you've just described every SUCCESSFUL radio show host in the country and that's exactly why she WON'T be fired. Great argument stupid. Posted by: Ted at February 7, 2005 09:12 AM ted- Posted by: jenn at February 7, 2005 01:45 PM Ted, you're not very good at making up stories about people. Nobody is falling for it. Posted by: other mike at February 7, 2005 02:59 PM "miss" is used as a sign of respect. in the case of jones, she is a disgrace to that title. fatass, obnoxious jones is a more appropriate for her. she gotta go!!! no more spamming mike. you are using this forum to exploit people. Posted by: smellyjones at February 7, 2005 08:40 PM Have you guys seen Emmis Communications stock slide. There was a little upswing due to the first few days of uproar over this disgrace, but it went down down down! Keep sliding baby! Woo-hoo! The Emmis stock symbol is EMMS. Posted by: Elsa at February 7, 2005 10:10 PM Not only should Miss Jones be fired, but so should the program manager, station manager, and general manager for allowing the song to be played. Posted by: /DD at February 9, 2005 02:54 PM Gee, I bet Todd Lynn and Rick Delgado are resentful about how Miss Jones didn't go down along with them! That's gotta be pretty demeaning, huh? I wonder whatever Miss Jones has said behind their backs to save her own ass. I would watch my back if I were you, Miss Jones. Lynn and Delgado were once your partners-in-crime, but now, they could be you biggest rivals/enemies. Posted by: Elsa at February 9, 2005 03:15 PM

They've already taken enough action by firing that cornball Todd Lyn and the producer of the show, whom according to Star, is REALLY the one behind all the shenanigans as I know that there is no way that the song went on air without prior approval. With that said, I'm not a fan of Miss Jones, but seriously folks, Howard Stern makes fun of every race everyday and Star...well, he just hates period and if you don't want to listen, just change the station. It is of the utmost importance that we as a people stop trying to censor people's views. You people act like you don't want freedom of expression. Freedom is freedom. Let them have the freedom to speak what they want to speak. If you don't like it, change the channel. As far as the rapper Jin is concerned, do not go out and give 5 star ratings to his album if it sucks (which it does). Hip hop is not American Idol. You people need to check yourselves. Posted by: epho at February 17, 2005 03:58 PM Its funny how they making a big deal about this song but when todd lynn made stupid jokes about a mentally challenged little boy who died in a hospital no one stepped up to complain about that. Its sad that when that same dead boys family member called to complain about them making fun of the little boy STupid ass Jones made fun of her and hung up on her, i didnt see anyone getting fired for that...It was wrong of them to make that song and it was also wrong when they made fun of that little boy who died, and when they made fun of all mentally challenged people.....Miss jones should get fired and also apologize to that little boys family too....But I guess since that didnt make national news no one cared to complain about that one!!!!! Posted by: yes at February 18, 2005 11:32 AM To the individuals who posted as yes and epho, To epho: Here's my freedom of speech...F--k you! To Yes: Who the hell said we didn't care about mentally challenged people. It is a "big deal" that hot 97 mocks all people of color, ethnicity, disabilities, etc. You are complaining to the wrong people. This is about stoping hate of all kinds. Complain to the real culprits...hot 97. Posted by: To the idiot who posted as yes... at February 18, 2005 09:11 PM NO F*** you, you're the moron.....I care about those people who died as well, i was simply stating that no one moved to fire anyone when they made fun of the mentally challenged....and i know that it was a big deal that those people died. How am I being insensitive when i agree with everyone that the song was wrong....stupid jerk Posted by: yes at February 22, 2005 01:14 PM This may be old news, but all you people need to get a grip. First of all if you listen to the song closely, you can hear Miss Info singing on the hook. Secondly, do you really think that the BIG WIGS at Hot 97 had no idea that this song was being created. Third of all of all it's just comedy. Look at all of the comedians that make fun of worldly events even ones that affected us like 9/11. People have been hating on Miss Jones from the door....And I'm sure that it's mostly chics! Someone hit it right on the nose. They are pushing the envelope just for ratings...no different than any other radio station, I don't care who you listen too. And u better belive that if any of the other station had creative talent like at hot 97 they would have done the same thing. As far as they sponsors pulling there ads of the air. That's a joke. I'm in Sales & Marketing and they are using any excuse to get a price break and i still hear them on that station. You people just need to be easy and get a lfe and stop trying to ruin othe peoples. Miss Jones in the mroning is still number one in NYC.
