March 18, 2006Lumumba "Professor X" CarsonThere's a party at the crossroads...... Posted by jsmooth995 at March 18, 2006 07:27 AMComments
Undeniably, a hateful, stupid, bigot. I don't have to make the case, his lyrics do it for me. How many young, impressionable minds did he poison? I'm glad he won't be around to poison any more. Posted by: Van Glorious at March 18, 2006 09:35 AM I was relieved to be reassured that, in the lyrical world of the X-Clan, "sissy" wasn't to be taken as an anti-gay slur. Now how about "faggot" and "dyke"? Posted by: asmile at March 18, 2006 09:48 AM This is protected, by the red, the black, and the green with a KEY, on the road again, SISSYYYYYYY! Thanks for some good music. R.I.P. Professor X Posted by: Pez at March 18, 2006 11:57 AM I really like your show. It's a shame that BAI doesn't give you guys the entire time block from 12 to 5 a.m. I loved this song you played a while ago: "Do you cause I'ma do me!" I absolutely love your show. Would you do the show from 12 to 5 if offered the slot by Pacifica? They need to get rid of that down low dude that's on from 2 to 5. Have some respect Posted by: Panda Beats at March 24, 2006 08:19 PM I wish Professor X had some respect- for gay people, for White people, for women...What respect did he show for his "sissy" bandmate Sugar Shaft when he died of AIDS? "Keep your opinion to yourself"; that's funny. Why don't you refute what I'm saying? Posted by: Van Glorious at March 25, 2006 05:19 PM While I would normally say that you should be hanged with perhaps a rope, a chain, and a piece of barbed wire all at the same time for that first comment you made, it's apparent and obvious that you, the disgrace who dares to refer to himself as "Van Glorious" simply to mock, defile, desecrate the memory of Lumumba "Professor X" Carson, are just looking to be the bad boy of the bunch and get some attention. Posted by: Daddy Lion Chandell at March 29, 2006 02:57 PM one of my all-time favorites Posted by: hankseptember at March 30, 2006 02:22 PM X-Clan has a vast knowledge of black history and what it means to be black. I can't believe Professor X is gone. If more brothaz and sistaz understood how great we actually were as a people before the transatlantic slave trade all the way back until the beginning of mankind then maybe we could put an end to our modern day problems such as the crack and aids epidemic as well as institutionalized racism. All we gotta do is unite and organize for what we want and it shall come to pass, but only if we understand that there are obstacles set up to prevent us from doing such. Professor X will be missed and I still look forward to more music from brother Jay. What'cha say? Posted by: kool at April 1, 2006 01:41 PM R.I.P. Professor X. You and the Xclan have provided us with good music. Posted by: X at April 1, 2006 02:54 PM Professor X enriched minds. It's the bloody legacy of white devils that are revered as heroes that poison. What a terrible loss... Posted by: black power patriot at April 1, 2006 05:16 PM I would like to say that The Brother Proffesor X motivated a ton of Brothers and Sisters to improve the conditions of our exixtance close the crack house black watch there are quite a few arm chair revelutionists who can't claim half the accomplishments this Brother achieved. We are stuck with the likes of these psudo gangster pimp mumbo jumbo mind poisoning so called hip hop artists saturating the radio airwaves and can't take a brief moment to reflect on the positive that Proffesor X has done. who ever this lame is on here that bites the dead back of a diseased Brother may who he seeks refuge in guide him or her back to the rat hole they dwell in Sissy. Proffesor X I'm sure The Arcitect of existance is quite pleased with your flight Rest In Peace Brother William Muhammad Posted by: Bro William Muhammad at April 1, 2006 11:21 PM Rest In Peace my Nigga. You'll always be missed but your techniques will never be forgotten. *Puts His Fist Up High* - *Radio* Making note of some minors. I'm not talking baseball, cause if I was MLK 4 Nigga Martin Luther King Jr's 38th Anniversary of his Death *Nods* Posted by: Tragedy Styles at April 4, 2006 04:52 PM Who are you to say he has poison minds of people. Are you cracked? You need to check ya self and eat a dick while your at it cause that man was very intelligent and he told the truth to the fullest! Nobody wants to hear the truth on what's really goin on in the black communities all over America. X-Clan, Professor X, Darksun, Brother J, Sugar Shaft, Isis, Queen Mother Rage and whoever I may have forgotten - You all have opened up the truth to those who were seekin it and they found it by your music. I am truly saddened by the death of Professor X. You will be truly missed. Posted by: Mamijenn at April 4, 2006 07:20 PM Professor X will truly be missed. I think that you have to be a TRUE hip hop or rap fan to appreciate what these guys were trying to do and the message that they were trying to put out there. I think that their musical career was too short lived and I personally don't listen to or even buy rap or hip hop music or cd's these days because of the garbage that is being passed off as rap or hip hop. During X Clan's time, there seemed to be a conscious among those who we listened to or they were just trying to let us know what was going on in the hood. These days, all you hear about is how big a booty is or how a girl can shake it or some other vulgar crap. It is worthless in my opinion, and we all know about opinions. An opinion is just like an a__hole, everybody has one. But that jerk who made the disrespectful comments about the late Professor X is an a__hole. Posted by: Yank at April 5, 2006 04:41 PM THE LEGACY OF PROFESSOR X and THE BLACKWATCH MOVEMENT Posted by: Daddy Lion Chandell at April 7, 2006 02:52 PM The Nubian Rootz Cultural Center of Charlotte is deeply sadden at the news of Brother Lumumba's passing. We last saw him in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn at the re-naming of Fulton Street to "Harriet Ross Tubman Avenue" in 15 degree weather...it was a "vanglorious" day indeed. He arrived quietly, even going around the back of the stage so as not to bring any attention to himself, or disrupt the keynote speech. But imagine Bed Stuy not recognizing it's native son! He became lost in a sea of hugs embraces, back pats, and well wishes. We both thank and salute Lumumba and his father Sonny Carson, for being dedicated to our struggle as a people, and pray earnestly for the children to continue to grow healthy and strong. From North Carolina to Brooklyn, We love and respect you and your father always. Peace. Posted by: gerry chisolm at April 8, 2006 03:08 PM Shoot, I know I'm that kind of a Big Hip Hop fan that'll stand up to these dead rappers and the retired ones. But the ones that left early should check theirselves before they say something that they'll regret. MLK 4 Nigga.
Posted by: Tragedy Styles at April 11, 2006 05:33 PM RIP Professor X, Thanks for your love of your people. Now that's deep... How deep? 1luv Posted by: Cliff in DC at May 24, 2006 01:38 AM This van glorious cat spoutin' hate is obvious a gay cat who took things personally. The harsh lesson for you to realize is that you are the epitome of a MORTAL. You are the same type of walking contridiction ( you listen to the lessons and quote them, but dog the ones that don't suit your style). J and P.X. spoke about in just about every cut they did. Niggas like you (it don't what your skin color is) can't take a knee before the Gods. Posted by: Vision in Chicago at June 1, 2006 08:49 PM rest in peace professor x, when i first heard the the east blackwards the tape blew my mind. at this time in my life i was 17 years old. i will never forget the feeling that i had after i listed to the x-clan. truly you have touched so many people with your powerful music. i hope to see you at the crossroads!!!!one love THANK YOU X CLAN FOR CARING ABOUT BLACKS AND MOTHER AFRICA....SISSYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Posted by: jasar at June 8, 2006 09:43 PM The word "Sissy" was not used as disrespect for gays. It was a challenge to Black Men to "Check themselves" ie: Look yourself in the mirror daily and check the sissy in yourself. Not your sexual preference, but if you are allowing your self and your people to be oppressed without expressing outrage then you are a sissy. If you are allowing your family and community to be torn apart then you are a sissy. If you are allowing drugs and violence to tear apart your community... you get the point???? Sugar Shaft was not gay! And he was no ones Sissy! Rest in peace my Brothers Sugar Shaft and Professor X. You are sorely missed. Paradise Gray (The Arkitech, X-Clan) Posted by: Paradise The Arkitech at June 14, 2006 03:01 PM The brotha will live on in words and actions if the spirit of his ideals are fulfilled in the freed minds.
