Star Suspended Fired at Power 105, After Attacking DJ Envy's Family
I never listen to the show, but I've heard that Star has recently been making some amazingly (even by his standards) low-class attacks on Hot 97's DJ Envy. Star's focus has been aiming anti-asian slurs and personal attacks at Envy's wife, plus gruesome threats towards Envy's young kids.
A bit of a weird situation given that Envy himself was one of the singers on Hot 97's own anti-asian and generally anti-human Tsunami Song. But that doesn't make Star's nonsense any less despicable, and it looks like his hate-mongering has finally caught up with him, as Power 105 reportedly just put him on suspension. EDIT: Power 105 has now confirmed that Star is fired.
This comes just as NY City Councilman John Liu, who prominently joined in the protests against Hot 97 that began on this site, held a press conference today calling for Star's termination.. here's the press release from this morning:
EDIT: I just added a transcript detailing some of Star's on-air comments, under the press release
5/11/06 EDIT: I just posted Star's apology here, issued through his lawyer.

A partial transcript of Star's on-air comments:
BROADCAST EXCERPTS:
Star: Somebody holla at me and tell me about his whore wife and his
kid. 866-678-8270. ... Somebody get at me about his whore. His
whore wife and his kid, this little ugly ass kid, I hear. Where…
where does this kid go to school? I got five hundred bucks for that
information. Somebody email me or gimme a call. Just tell me where
his kid goes to school. Let's see who's really gully on the
microphone. Five hundred dollars, in my pocket, right now. I need to
know the school, this faggot ass nigga, DJ's kid goes to school.
Star: I've got information on DJ Benji, aka… what's his name again?
Envy. I've got information on his gook. His baby's mother.
BucWild: A gook?
Star: Hemp University, uh, cats used to run trains on her. Green BMW…
I'll get to all this in a few minutes.
Star: OH! And I got the information, the school his kid goes to.
[Woman's voice] Really?
Star: Yeah, I'm savin' that one. That's, that's… That's the one I'm
gonna pull out if I have to. If I have to. Oh yes, I'll, I'll come
for your kids. I will come for your kids. I finally got the
information on his slant eyed, whore wife. The information on his
slant eyed, whore wife. Yes. A cat who actually ran a train on her,
contacted me. [chuckle] Allegedly ran a train on her once upon a
time. Allegedly. Once upon a time. Ejaculated all over her face,
Star: No, let me just touch on this real quick,
But there's a woman out there right now who pushed out a little
lo-mein eater by a DJ down by the sloppy station. I got at this
alleged slut whore, heh, and this little half a lo-mein eater. ...
Yes, I disrespected your seed. If you didn't hear me, I said, I would
like to do an R. Kelly on your seed, on your little baby girl. I would
like to tinkle on her.
"Call the cops"? Nigga, please, there's no bodyguards. I carry the 9.
Most of the cats that are with me, have felony convictions, they can't
carry. I'm disrespectin' your seed. I would like to skeet on the face
of your seed. Now that's, that's real talk dawg. You have to come
holla at me now. Call me, I'll meet you somewhere, but don't act like
you were waiting in some parking lot with like 50 niggers. Please.
Now, again, to the woman, who carried that little mongrel for 9
months. ... I'm coming for your seed. Did you hear me? (*thump, thump,
thump* noise) I want to do an R. Kelly in the mouth of your seed fem?
You holla at me now I'm the easiest man in the world to find.
*snickers* And my name is The Hater. You holla back now, DJ Envy.
Star: Let me see now, uh, DJ Benji attention! In case you didn't hear
me, I said, I want to put some mayonnaise in between your baby girl's
ass crack and take a bite.

I don't listen to the radio. But this is disgusting. How much more has he be doing on his show to make him think it was sweet like this?
What is the prequel to this beef? Why is dude wilin' like this? What did envy do?
Yo, this is shocking the shit outta me. I've never had any exposure to these dudes.
It's repulsive and embarrasing.
He's a fucking disgrace to everyone he associates with.
Matter fact, to anyone with kids, or anyone that's Asian, I apologize on the strenf of my people.
My eyes hurt from reading these comments.

Damn, Star really did have a good show, in spite of his abrasiveness. However he did go way, way, way too far this time. I think there really is no place for hate on the air. He knew no limits and now he will pay a price. I just hope it doesn't come to gun play.

he's disgusting and this needs to lead to criminal and civil prosecution. sounds like a premeditated crime...i hope they find some obscure law on the books and send his stupid ass to prison - not jail - but prison, so some big dude named Tiny can do an R. Kelly on his ass.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.. 105.1 about to go outta busines soon, they gonna lose all there fans. Star is the only reason i ever listened. Besides Ed Lover the rest of there staff is horrible. This gotta be the worst and most idiotic business move I've ever seen. LOL @ Power listen to a council man. I thought they supported hip-hop & yet there siding with the same political scum that tries to shut down hip-hop. The same scum that won't say nothing to a white death metal artist talking about eating babies & shit. Whoever made the decision to fire Star is fucking idiot. RIP Power 105.1

I’m sure my remarks will garner debate.
What Star did was no crime. Consider the intent...It was an unscrupulous attempt to get under DJ Envy's skin for remarks he made previously. Common sense, no one in their right mind would orate their intentions to commit a crime through a radio show aired in several states. Again, Star's comments were extremely tasteless, ill-advised, and of poor judgement. Does this merit a total dismissal? I don't think so. Over a year ago, this board was filled with anti-Jonesy/Envy banter when the Tsunami song was aired and Miss Info verbally attacked. Jonesy did it again a few months ago by calling Roger Toussaint a dumb coconut (referring to his ethnicity). Yet, through her collective online mis-doings, she is still employed as are many other mediocre radio jocks. Star and Bucwild will return nonetheless in another format. For the time being however, NYC radio will be rather boring.

We should throw a party, Star is finally off the airwaves.
Posted by: Kai at May 10, 2006 11:29 PM
Well said yourself. I agree with all you wrote. All in all I just find that Power has just proven that it doesn't deserve to be on the air anymore. When a station won't even stand up for their own jockeys then they useless. I'm almost certain that Star has brought them higher ratings & more money then any other dj they've had before. Now they don't have the balls to stand up for him when some stuffy political type comes in. Hip-hop is for the fans. If you don't give the fans what they want then they don't want what u give. I guarantee their ratings are going to plummet & all because they ain't have the fuckin guts to stand up for their own people
Posted by: miz-e at May 10, 2006 11:35 PM
PS--Half of these guys who responded don't even know shit about hip-hop. They have no business even commented on the issue. They're not the fans. They're don't the ones who tune in & give Power its ratings yet these are the jackasses that Power listens to.
Posted by: miz-e at May 10, 2006 11:50 PM
You're absolutely correct miz-e, Power 105 and its affiliates will suffer the consequences of this "shotgun" reaction. A hefty fine and a 2 week suspension would've been suffice. The heat would've tapered off and everyone would have mostly forgotten by then.
The Star and Bucwild show was for all intensive purposes, an excellent show. It didn't harp on the sterotypical hip-hop mindset. The music was diverse, the spoken topics were insightful and guest interviews were entertaining.
Yes, he cursed alot, he called women "bitches" and gays "fags", but in the end, he had both a woman and a gay man as his right hand people. Regardless,
Power 105 has now lost its only edge. Guess I'll be packing CD's in my car again. Again, great comments miz-e!

star shouldn't have been fired, anyone listening could tell he was not seriously talkin bout molesting envy's seed. and for those that dont listen, star is the best thing to happen to "hip hop radio"(commercial) in this city, he brought thought and a concious to radio that is missin on most black/hip hop radio stations.
Posted by: the real nat turner at May 11, 2006 06:45 AM
His comments were made in order to have DJ Envy come and "see" him. DJ Envy's wife is having a fit over beef her husband started. What she needs to do is get at her husband for starting with the hater in the first place. She is looking over her shoulders? Get outta here. I am not condoning what Star said but as an avid listener, I understand why it was said and the context in which the comments were made. Envy started it and I'm sure when they dig into his comments they will see the root of the problem. Hot97 will do anything for ratings. My radio is OFFICIALLY off.
Posted by: Staraholic at May 11, 2006 07:05 AM
I'am saddened that star is not on the air.dispite his arrogance he made alot of sense. He made one think deeply and objectively about every aspect of ones' daily life. I'm not putting him up as something to worship, but I really hope that the true haters out there will keep the hate alive. The thing all haters must realize is star would want us to continue on this legacy. The hate doesn't die with star it must go on. He will soon rise again in some other arena, but until then it is our(the true haters) duty to press forward. Don't lose your objective. And to star if you happen to come across this please consider the satillite radio. we will continue to hate but face it not the same without you. Keep ya head up,and keep the hate alive.
Posted by: boywonder at May 11, 2006 07:08 AM
I agree with the person who stated that the show was insightful, etc. Most people do not get what Star is doing. The "hate" is the attention grabber and entertainment for the educational message (which most people don't won't to hear on radio/tv etc.) you get from the show. Star will thrive simply because there are so many other distribution outlets and his track record for bringing in revenues. No one else on radio has his content and the market for this content is very present. Every distribution outlet needs content.
One question, did his advertisers come out against him? If not, he's still in business. In fact, he will probably get more deals. I know he will learn from this set-back and come back stronger. I'd be shock if this is the last we hear from Star and Bucwild. This was an extremely poor business decision by Power. I doubt that it was really over the DJ Envy crap. Does anyone remember some of the discussion yesterday? Maybe...just maybe...

This is not addressed to the idiots who occasionally turned the dial to 105 and were offended by what is opinion. This is for the true Star advocates ( not fans) who can appreciate the art of what Star brought to the table every morning. He's always pushed the envelope on what would be considered good taste, and the constitution protects his right to rant. As a parents i was shocked by what he said, but in his defense most sex offenders dont advertise what they do before they do it. Star has the courage and platform to say what many are afraid to express. C'mon the mayonaise in the ass thing is funny. Crude, but funny. The lo mein comments still make me chuckle.( lets' be honest people the man spits the truth-- spanish people eat beans, asian people eat lo mein, gay men take it up the ass; not exclusively but it's true)His absence leaves a bottomless void in many listeners mornings who want to here more than the new Chris Brown song. Who else on a hip hop radio station is educating the masses on Ayn Rand? Or King Leopold II? His truth , wit, charisma, and below the belt antics will be missed. Being politically correct flies in the face of freedom of speech.

This decision bye clear channel just shows how minorities still have no power in the end. I deliver papers in the morening so I listen to Imus and then I listen to star n buckwild, on the Imus program you can hear them daily refering to people as pussy's and dickheads, bitches hoes, "niggas", and a slew of other vulgar comments of which you have never heard star say. Not only that but they have characters that depict famous and unfamous people that make equally unfathomable statements and
there is yet to be any attention drawn to them. So children is where the line is drawn. People who have lost loved ones to disasters, murder, homicide, sexual predators, people with disabilities, different races, cultures and sexual orietations, these are all funny topics just as long as you don't talk about children directly. hmmm ???? That seems like a problem to me. Listen to Imus and his characters, bishop egan, the Irish priest, the blues singer always singing about graphic sex acts, the imitations of the minority communities social activists and decide
fro yourself where the line should be drawn.

Goddamn. Don't you people get it? This is business. The FCC (certainly under the pressure of right wing groups) would have come down so hard on that station with so many fines (we're talking tens of millions of dollars) that it would have literally put the station out of business FOREVER (Howard Stern was muzzled and then chased off the air - but not before Clearchannel paid tens of MILLIONS in fines). 105.1 IS OWNED BY CLEARCHANNEL (think people). The only reason Howard Stern was not fired and was able to stay on the air was because he never did anything stupid -- like talking about molesting a child on the AIR. Star is not a god - matter of fact, just proved that he is an ass and a horrible businessman who lacks judgement. THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE who are talented and can put on a good fucking show - they only need a chance. And when knuckleheads like Star fuck up, they step in. It's call survival of the fitest. Nobody, and I repeat that NOBODY is indespensible. Life will go on, hip-hop will live and 105.1 plays their cards right, they will find another on-air talent who can bring up the ratings again (um - clear channel has deep pockets - if 92.3 is still thriving after Howard Stern, then 105.1 will be FINE after Star - you all will tune in as soon as they hire the next idiot).

Yo, Star was waaaaaaay out of line on this one! Those comments about another man's seed will start some serious shit and have gun play going on. I am a fan of Star's and I listen everyday but, I am not going to stand behind him on this issue because he was wrong!
However, I do not think he should have been fired! He tells it like it is and keeps it real. White America cannot stand when a black man/woman has a platform to speak their mind. It is ok for Howard Stern and anyone like him to talk about crazy shit within the rock and roll community but, don't let the Hip Hop nation speak out because then we are dead wrong! Star will rise again somewhere and I just want to know when and where because, i do not support what he said about tha man's kid but, I do support his right to be on the radio because he is needed!!!

I can't believe some of yall comments....So What some of u guys really liked Star, and So What Envy may have started it...but Star went to far...with the sexual comments on a child..he's Sick! he specifically said- Star: Let me see now, uh, DJ Benji attention! In case you didn't hear me, I said, I want to put some mayonnaise in between your baby girl's ass crack and take a bite. It's nothing funny about that....and if he truly was tryna make envy mad he could have just stuck with calling the child names (even tho that is still wrong)...but those comments are perverted and real sickening. It makes me wonder if he really would do that to a child if he had the chance. He really sounded like a predator by telling people he'll give them $500 if they tell him where the little 4 year old girl go to school.
Posted by: CANDY at May 11, 2006 09:22 AM
All I got say is if your not a listener then shut the fuck up. Clear Channel/Power whatever used to play a promo for the Star & Bucwild show. The promo talk called Miss Jones a fat ugly chick etc. This was played by Power itself on air while other dj's were on. It was obviously done by them with their consent but now they trying to get there weight off their shoulders & cut they losses. Fuckin faggots, they be off the air soon. Especially if they keep listening to the idiots who never heard that show in the first place. On a side note, Howard Stern has done for worse then Star over the airwaves. This is a clear display of racism.
Posted by: miz-e at May 11, 2006 09:23 AM
Damn now who am I gonna listen to now? Star is an equal opportunity racist. I'm Korean and I love his show. I was not a bit offended when he aired that. what about the positives that hes done on the show like bring civil rights movement leaders ON THE SHOW, or have Jazz musician on the show and enlighten people?
Im ashamed that the councilman that called for Star's termination is Asian. for the record, hes chinese, not korean.
Posted by: Angry Asian at May 11, 2006 09:32 AM
I heard most of that broadcast where the post is taken from and it sounds like some of the words were twisted. I recall him making those references to Envy's wife, not his child/children. Does anyone have a copy of the actual tape from the show? Star may be a crass ass at times, but when it comes to morning radio I think he was still the best option out there. This morning on my drive in, I had to keep flipping the stations and couldn't find a damn thing really worth listening to. Ms. Jones is acting like this is her doing when in actuality, Star may have done himself in.
Posted by: Mike from Queens at May 11, 2006 09:43 AM
I listen to star and Buc Wild show every morning and its the only thing that keeps me awake on my way to work. Star is somebody you love to hate, he has/had a great show and always pushed the envelope but those comments are way out of line. I am from Africa and he has made some racial comments about Africa before that drove me mad but i still found myself listening to the show. Now that the show is off air i wonder how i would cope, i guess i would have to start listening to CDs in my car.
Posted by: Osas at May 11, 2006 09:48 AM
I find it kind of shocking that so many people consider stars vitriolic intellectual posturing as insightful. I've heard him talk about Ayn Rand and objectivism and it sounds like he never even made it through the first half of Fountainhead, much less grasped that Ms. Rand was a racist reactionary her damn self. Somehow he has convinced a large group of black people that "objective hate" is something to aspire to--thinking that absolutely no one would figure out how completely oxymoronic that term is.
I think it's too bad that it took DJ Envy, his wife and city council members conspiring with the FCC to get him off the air. While I don't believe that little girl was in any real danger, I think it is disgusting and irresponsible for a grown man to speak of a child in that manner and that so many people found it funny. There is nothing objective about calling people bitches, whores, niggers or gooks. There is nothing insightful about it either. With all the information he would give about history and social issues, he routinely undermined it by denegrating his listeners at the same time. At one time folks thought people would need a spoonful of honey to help digest heady concepts, but now it seems many of yall would rather a shot of Jack and a kick in the teeth. And don't go deciding who loves or hates hip hop based on this. If this is hip hop's destiny, I say we scrap it and start something new.

I am totally dissapointed but I listen to more of my satellite radio now, because I am also a Stern fan. So I am guessing that will be the next place Star turns up so get your Sirrius now! No radio station in the country will touch him after those comments. I have three young daughters and if someone made those comments like that about them to me, I don't care who you are I would be coming after you. I like Star but he may end up like Tupac, you don't mess with a man's family especially his children..... Peace.
Posted by: Jay-Man at May 11, 2006 09:57 AM
miz-e -- you seem not to understand who and what defines "worse" when it comes to airwaives. You claim Howard Stern has done "worse" than Star and you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but in this society discussing performing sexual acts CHILDREN is the line that NOBODY can cross. I DARE YOU TO FIND ONE COMMENT THAT HOWARD STERN MADE (OR ANY OTHER DJAY THAT WAS A DIRECT THREAT TOWARDS A CHILD IN AN OVERTLY SEXUAL WAY). I didn't think so! THAT'S the difference between what Star did and what Howard did (and I listened to BOTH of them). Star was allowed to get away with just as much as any other shock jock -- he's made racist comments like the rest of them. CHILDREN is where the line IS and SHOULD be drawn. This is now a national story. If we don't send a message to idiots about how to control themselves, then we've failed. STAR IS A GROWN ASS MAN and if he's dumb enough and lacks the judgement (or perverse enough) to make these comments on PUBLIC AIRWAVES, the he needs to be fired, shot and left for dead in a gutter. WOULD YOU have made those fucked up rediculous comments on the air?
Posted by: supernova at May 11, 2006 10:06 AM
Come on now... While the comments may have been extremely distasteful, I don't believe that the actions taken against Star were warranted. People say things all the time, but that doesn't meen that they are going to act on their words. Anyone who listens, or who has listened to Star in the past knows the type of dude he is, and what he represents... Entertainment. Come on now, some things he says offends some, but not others; and other things offend a whole different group of people. The truth is that it is just entertainment in an aggressive form. It is what it is. While the show is not for everyone (as nothing is, and as Star, himself, has stated on many occasions), the show serves as a source of enjoyment for many. When Star first showed up in Philly, I hated him! I thought he was ignorant and disrespectful, so I made the choice not to listen. For some reason, I tried the show again, and I got hooked; but that was my choice. We all have choices. We can listen, or not listen. In short, Philly morning radio will never be the same without Star. Personally speaking, I'm making the switch now that's the show is gone.
Posted by: Fresh at May 11, 2006 10:20 AM
i find what he said sick and disgusting for all the obvious reasons....but what i think is worse than that is how many people really dont see anything wrong with it...the number of people defending this as entertainment is sickening...any person who thinks listening to a man talk about pissing and ejaculating on a four year old little girl's face, no matter how serious he may or may not have been, is just plain gross....i'm sure these people spend a lot of their time in between child porn sites and chat rooms because on no level do i find this funny...

I listen to STAR every morning and honestly most of the SO CALLED HATE is purely for entertainment. STAR raises issues that other DJ's are afraid to raise. The other DJ's are puppets for the white suits. The black community needs to hear the truth that STAR spits and if we don't believe everything he says at least we can pick up a book and research and learn about things we would otherwise never hear about. Are yall fuckin serious? What he did wasn't WRONG? Get the fuck outta here! You don't talk about nobody's kids- PERIOD!! I wouldn't give a fuck if he really WASN'T gone do shit- how many of you would take a muthafucka leavin that shit on your voicemail, let alone on the radio? Hypocrites. And the lo-mein comments? So I guess it would be o.k. for a White dj to get on there sayin a Black dj's wife pushed out a chicken and watermelon lover? Yeah, o.k. Black people, we have GOT to do better. These muthafuckas is beefin over what? Learn your history! We need to be stickin together, but when you do STUPID shit like that, why would decent folks wanna stick by you? We as a people love to fight and argue about shit that doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things. He shoulda been fired, and that's that- what is there to argue about and discuss? WHat's wrong is wrong. I wish a muthafucka WOULD say somethin about my child!

It's Star! You know he has a trashy mouth!
What's the big deal, Rappers say dumb shit like that on their c.d's all the time. How could that been a threat it's not like he actually went and did something to them.. give me a break!!!!! it's a radio "show"!!!!!!! Give Star back his job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOO BAD STAR gave the whites a reason to stop his message. He'll Be Back

I wonder what Bucwild was thinking...LOL!

Star was wilding bad on this one, but it was funny and there is something called FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Envy did something to warrant that display rage. Star will be back on Satellite Radio where he can say whatever he wants.
Posted by: Bullpinn at May 11, 2006 11:23 AM
This is appalling and much too racy for the airwaves. There is no BEEF in the world to result to kids getting involved. This is an upset to all black people. Star "Gone To Far" The best thing that can come out of this whole mess is some jail time. He needs a vacation to air out his animosity. Don't fire him; torch his ass straight to Shawangunk Correctional Facility. Talk that sweet shit up there not over our airwaves. REAL TALK!!!
Straight Like That!!!
Posted by: Real Talk at May 11, 2006 11:46 AM
You f*** idiots. I am the hater. I will spit at you, and tell you the reality of things but if I were to act upon what I said, why would I publicly announce it to the entire audience listening? You people are stupid. Go watch reruns of the good times. Maybe you'll learn something.

As a hip hop fan, I’m disgusted. This is everything that is wrong with hip hop and black culture: no respect for others and no self-respect. Petty rivalries and the willingness to do absolutely anything for fame and money. When will we rise above this?
Posted by: hip hop fan at May 11, 2006 12:09 PM
STAR WAS OUT OF LINE FOR THE COMMENTS, BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THIS IS RADIO, THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT. LOOKING AT IT WITH A BIT OF RATIONALE, A 42-YEAR OLD MAN WITH A FOUR YEAR 17 MILLION DOLLAR DEAL, WOULD NOT LET THAT GO UP ON SMOKE OVER A TRIVIAL RIVALRY. BUT THEN AGAIN IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE UNTOUCHABLE, PEOPLE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO GET AT YOU AND EXPECT YOUR DISMISSAL (HAVING POWER IS NOT ALWAYS HAVING SENSE)

What type of beef can ignite someone to say something as disgusting as Star did? He needs to be evaluated mentally, court ordered, b/c if he can open his face to say what he said he has pedophilic tendencies. He is definitely a threat to Envy's kids and any other kid! This is shocking to say the least. If his brain can concoct that notion, he is a danger to society. Heat of the moment, over the top anger, none of it is an excuse! I can only imagine what would happen to someone who threatened my kid like that. Jesus help them.
Posted by: Caramel Baby at May 11, 2006 12:57 PM
Of course I didn't listen to Star. I gave him a week when he first got to town and he disgusted me, so I stopped. I'm glad he's gone, maybe I can start listening to the radio in the morning again (Hot 97 is out because Miss Jones still has a job there). Out of curiosity, what were these positive "issues" and insightful discussions that miz-e and NYC NYC NYC allude to? I'm not saying they weren't there, I couldn't listen to the show for more than 15 minutes.
BTW: Why don't I care what Imus says? Because Imus doesn't put a black eye on the hip-hop community. I could care less whether cowboy hat wearing crackers look like idiots.
Posted by: janine at May 11, 2006 01:02 PM
This loser decribes how he wants to violate a FOUR-YEAR OLD on the radio and some of you people are upset he was fired because he educates people? He's a victim of racism? He's protected by the First Amendment? You people don't see ANYTHING wrong with this? Sure, sure, but I bet you never leave your baby girl alone in a room with this psycho.
Stop rushing to defend someone because you're a "fan", and really stop and think before you speak. That's something HE should have done.
Posted by: MissyJ at May 11, 2006 01:22 PM
I hear a lot of folks saying Envy "started" the beef... I don't listen to Hot 97 or Power 105, so could someone elighten me as to how things kicked off?
Posted by: george j at May 11, 2006 01:41 PM
I did some research. Apparently, Jonesy and Envy were cracking jokes about Star's deceased father sometime last week. I'm sure this potentially provoked the current debacle.
In response to Janine, the show did touch upon many of the current day issues, i.e. immigration, finance, war, etc. 8 of 10 times, his show featured reputable guests; Al Sharpton, Star Jones, most recently Winton Marcellus. Certainly, these are people who would not have appeared as guests on a show that lacked credibility.
Bottom line, Star was an aquired taste. For some, he was too blunt, for others he was just right.
As to his recent remarks, I reiterate the question: What was his intent? If you're a listener of the show, you would realize it was Star's unfortunate attempt to bait Envy in the worst way, seemingly in retaliation for comments made about his deceased father. Common sense dictates he had no intention of following up with those comments. Who in their right mind would broadcast to millions, their intent to commit a crime?
I do agree in part with MissyJ's comment about rushing to defend Star merely because you're a fan. However, I do believe one should not condemn him merely because you're not a fan.
Posted by: NYC NYC NYC at May 11, 2006 02:02 PM
Words are words. That may be true, but when you are offering a monetary sum for information over the airwaves, in order to effectuate a threat on someone else's child, that must be taken seriously, regardless of Star's history as an asinine jokester.
His incessant babbling and racial comments do nothing to add to the radio. He continues to perpetuate racism, stereotypes and discord, and is basically worthless. He is a disgrace to mankind and Clear Channel was in their right (and wisely chose) to fire him from the show.
For his fans out there who say he is "funny" and support him, stop and think about how you would feel if someone was attacking YOUR child and your enthnicity.
Posted by: Anyone with any intelligence out there? at May 11, 2006 02:44 PM
i am a faithful listener who listens from 6-10am Monday thru Friday, and I can say STAR did take it way over-board. It seems that he would have been smarter than that. It's one thing to talk about DJ Envy's girlfriend but to talk about his child was just wrong. Those comments he made sounded very perverted. STAR really showed his ass this time. I guess there's no need for those WORLD WIDE STAR t-shirts.

I LOVED star in the morning on Power 99. despite his brash delivery, the man had a good team behind him...and a little bit of knowledge too. he DEFINITELY crossed the lines bringing the kids and the baby in the battle. uncalled for. oh well. guess it's back to cd's in the morning!

just threaten a child that cannot hold his/her own against a grown ass man. fuck that fact if he was playing and all that shit it was very distasteful and i can see how it can be frightening for Envy's
family and the fact that a lot of these star fans can't see it is even more frightening
Posted by: yo at May 11, 2006 03:08 PM
I didn't read all the comments here, but for those of you supporting Star and saying he shouldn't have been fired, I'd really like to know what you'd recommend happen to him if it was your 4 yr old daughter who he wanted to do an R Kelly on and put mayonaise in her ass to take a big bite out of. He definitely needed to be fired. Whether serious or not, he potentially put these children in danger--over what? Any cop on the street will tell you that nutcases don't need much to prompt nutty acts. Even the suggestion, again whether kidding or not--that he was offering $500 to someone for information on where the kids go to school puts them in danger. You got beef with Envy, that's one thing, but to bring his kids into it is inexcusable, and I hope the FCC does get involved and puts his ass in a hole somewhere. And I just hope this never happens to any of your kids. He deserves an ass beating Brooklyn style. For real. He's lucky if he just gets off with a firing.

THE LISTNER WILL NOT BE DENIED!!!
People, people, come on Star’s show was mostly about pushing the envelop, him being a loudmouth, rude and arrogant SOB, that’s why we listened, you knew this. There was never anything politically correct about it. Who could forget the interview with Justin Timberlake a few years back on that other station when he asked the popster if he ever ate Brittany Spears coochie, and the dude buckled to the pressure with a positive reply. I never laughed so hard in my life and I’m a female. He was gone from that station a short time later, yet I don’t recall such a huge brouhaha about that.
Harsh as it is to disrespect someone’s children, kids who aren’t able to defend themselves, there are greater issues to concern yourselves with. Not trying to get political here but worry about why this country, the richest, has no national healthcare system, to the detriment of the millions without it. Hell, worry about why thousands are dying in Iraq right now for higher gas prices. Look, in the end Star’s anger got the better of him and he chose the airwaves to rant, rave and vent, for that’s exactly what it was. Not the wisest of choice…yes, bad judgment…yes to that too, but in the end it was all for entertainment, it’s easy enough to flip to another station if you didn’t like the message. It’s not about racism, the black or hip-hop cultures; let’s not put a label on this…he’s one man, one opinion, one show. FM radio provides the same entertainment value as reality TV, some of it real, most of it not. It’s always best to listen with a grain of salt and some healthy skepticism regarding such statements as Star made, then move on with your own day to day lives. Clear Channel, Star, Envy, his wife, his kids…none of them are paying your monthly bills. I have enough intelligence to separate the fact from the fiction, you should too, so love him, hate him but don’t take it seriously.
I’ll miss his show though as that was my morning coffee before heading into the dog-eat-dog world of investment banking and the trading floor (wanna hear some real disrespectful language…work on a trading floor). Like the Phoenix, Star will rise again from the ashes to rule the airwaves and provide to those who want it, his ill humor, rude comments and funny as all hell daily tirades.

I, A faithful listener to the StarandBucwild show, first off will concede to the fact that the remarks made in reference to the 4 yr old was tasteless to MANY(as 75% of his show is). Now that being stated, Id have to agree with "Real Talk"( scroll up a bit~ bold font) when he says "why would I publicly announce it to the entire audience listening?" Comedy is comedy. Period. It is to be aquired by some and disregarded by others. This guy (star) must be lamped up in his estate somewhere(Job or no Job), absolutly satisfied with the the drama that ensued over this parody. He has won! Cant you see? He always preached that his hate~ is to motivate, albeit a tactless approach none the less , it has motivated a nation to act. Who are the real haters here??
Posted by: Goat at May 11, 2006 03:39 PM
First of all, all the people who hasnt been a listener of star should shut the fuck up and not even comment because you are weak that are quick to judge someone just because you live your lives as degenerate fools. Star was wrong in the fact that he brought the daughter and girlfriend into the debate, but DJ Envy, that dum fuck, should not have talked about Stars deceased father. Star played his cards as eye for an eye. I dont believe any educated man would broadcast a crime to millions if they really had the intent to go through with it. Common sense which most of you closed minded fuck holes who live at home and have no lives.
Posted by: Pro-Star at May 11, 2006 03:44 PM
I dont care what the beef was betwen him,and the other DJ. There is nothing funny or entertaining about threatening someone's child. His remarks were rude, disgusting and hurtful. That is a little girl, he's talking about. Any issues he has with the mother or father, he needs to address it to them, keep the beef with the adults. I am the mother of a little boy and girl, and I would fear for their lives if someone said those comments to me about them. He deseves to be fired, and I would add get help, because there are more crazy people walking on the street, than in the homes, or asylums. He needs tp be dealt with.
Posted by: roya at May 11, 2006 03:45 PM
In my opinion star's biggest talent was convincing the idiots at clear channel to give him all that money in the first place. This man strained to sound intelligent and usually failed.
My favortite star quote was when he said he thought "it was possible for the homosexal tendansies of a father to be transmitted to his son through his sperm". This was during the period where they tried to engage in insightful topical conversations. I believe that segment was scrapped because they sounded like idiots.
His managment skills are poor judging by the number of failed on air talent he has hired (that sports guy was the worst). And I think you all who support him may be missing the point. Although his comments about the little girl were in very poor taste and worse than that, they werent funny. But the possible"crime" here will probably be endagering the welfare of a minor. This asshole offerred money , $500 to be exact, for one of his many many listeners to find out where a 4 year old girl goes to school. Now think for a minute, what if a person was as stupid as he is and took him up on that offer? Now imagine if that person also happend to be a pedofile. Now you have a pedofile at school full of children looking for a 4 year old girl. Thats called endagering the welfare of a minor.
Not quite what I would call entertaining , funny, or something we should "lighten up about". All things I have read on a couple of these message boards. I am no prude by any strectch of the imagination. I am black and have laughed at Klan jokes BECAUSE THEY WERE FUNNY. Star is barely funny especially when he tries to talk above his head. And let me just add one more thing here, Star's second passion besides insulting people is patting himself on the back because he tells everyone that he is so different and far and beyond everyone else in the moring drive. For those of you that dont know, his show was only .1 rating point above Miss Jones. If Star was so great why was he neck and neck with his former sidekick? I wont miss him, I just wish I could get his slot.
Posted by: THECSS at May 11, 2006 04:06 PM
hahahahahaha @ all the idiots sayin he needs to be dealt with. Shut the fuck up. Ya'll need to be dealt with for being so uptight & stupid. Star was good entertainment, nothing different from comedians like Chappele & Mencia. I've heard plenty people 'get at' babies in comedy acts & talk shit about all type of people & races. You dumb muhfuckas need to stop being so uptight. Take the dick out your asses & shove it your mouths or something. Nobody wanna hear your complaining.

As I read the comments it appears to me that the people with the most objective views probably didnt listen to the show much. To take him at face value would be like trying to find merit in drunken banter.Star talks crazy on a regular basis granted but its all in the name of entertainment and ratings. Like someone above said they do make remarks and poke fun of racial themes in shows like Chappelle, and etc. Im curious to see what replaces the 4 hour time slot that was formerly alloted for the Star and Bucwild show.

From a legal standpoint this isn't about freedom of speech. This is about verbal assualt and a threat against a person, a child for that matter. The police should investigate.

Star is being paid to push filth and racisim on Black children by the secret power structure. He is being used as part the effort to systematically destroy the black community.
We are still angry at him for his shocking comments about the tragic death of Alliya.
He should be arested for the degrading garbage he spouts in general, and these comments in particular.

Regardless of whether or not you are a Star fan you need to be real with yourself. There is no way in hell you would tolerate anyone getting at your kids -- especially talking about some sexual bullshit -- joking or not I am gonna fuck you up just on GP that you went there.
Star's DJ style was not for everyone and that's why some chose to listen and others didn't. However, when it comes to kids, there is no level of preference. Kids are not to be touched as they cannot defend themselves against the stupid crap you may say or do. With all these sex offenders around and how kids are being murdered you cannot trust that something is merely a joke -- especially if you are the parent of that kid. As a woman, fuck the news, I am getting at you myself -- forget my punk ass husband or "baby daddy" for lack of a better word.
It was very poor taste and very immature if he did it in response to someone talking about his deceased father.
Star I understand you wanted to be gully but sometimes the best way to show it is to straight go in his mouth when you see him -- talking about his kids is an area you should not go.
Since the decision was made to say it, it has to be dealt with. All-in-all, regardless of what some may believe, Star is a very intelligent man -- he knew already that shit would get his ass fired.

Can we please stop putting everything to "Black People" as if we are the only ones who ever listened to Star.
This topic transcends all race and color barriers so leave it alone alright. Gather your thoughts and show that you have a bit more smarts than that.
Posted by: Be Real With Yourselves at May 11, 2006 06:57 PM
For all the "fans" out there who don't get it, let me break it down. There is no unlimited freedom of speech on broadcast radio. The FCC regulates and censors speech on the airwaves and that is why Howard Stern got fined and that is why Star got fired. He BROKE THE LAW by violating the FCC regulations that govern indecent material like saying you want to skeet on a 4 year-old. It doesn't matter if it was funny and it doesn't matter if he was really going to do it. Clear Channel is going to have to fight to keep their license after this crap, and they wouldn't stand a chance if they hadn't fired him.
A bus driver can't down a fifth of Jack Daniels and drive down Broadway at 90 miles an hour and not expect to get fired. And basically that's what Star did when he said this stuff with full knowledge of the FCC laws. He should never be allowed to broadcast again.
Posted by: media lawyer at May 11, 2006 07:01 PM
I agree, Star went too far with the kid comment, but c'mon, isn't that the point of the disclaimer at the beginning of the show? Isn't that what the show's all about? (let's test our limits n-all??) If you don't like him, change the channel!!!!! Don't deprive me!!
What about Star's right to Freedom of Speech?? Why would anyone take him seriously?? Oh, but it's ok when Howard Stern does it though, right??!!?? Star is an equal opportunity hater, so why are they trying to make him out to be some kinda prejudiced pedophiliac??
They should've suspended him, made him pay a fine, and give a public apology (for the kid comment).
All you Star haters need to come down off of your crosses, build a bridge with it and keep it movin!! Frickin' hypocrites!!!!!!!!!

It ain't tough for ya to talk from behind a computer screen right. Cowards will never understand what having balls means. Star pushed the limit cuz thats the man he is & he's always been that way. The idiot who made the bus driver analogy should be kicked off the train of thought for his stupidy. A drunk bus driver is dangerous & can kill someone but the last time i checked words couldn't kill. If you don't like Star or the show then don't listen its just that simple. Get off the dude's dick & go do you. In my personal opinion I find talking about a dead person worse then talking about any living person but that just my opinion & you see me bitching trying to get Jones & Envy fired or ranting on about them. I just don't listen to them. You dumb shits should do the same.

You got it real bad, Star should be thankful for you as a fan. While I agree with some of your comments, you should open your mind a little more and understand as a parent how that would make you feel if someone did that crap. You wouldn't stand for it.
For us who talk about seeing him and talking behind the computer screen...it's even funnier that you said that because it's the same thing that Star did -- he should have went to Envy's face with that shit and kept his damn job.
You gotta be smarter than that if you really want to maintain your position or if you really were concerned about your fans.
What do you have to say for his disregard of you as a fan...a person who wants to continue listening to him?
Posted by: Be Real With Yourselves at May 11, 2006 07:56 PM
Hello!? What every happened to free speech? It was not like Starr was inciting a riot, yelled fire in a crowded place or something of that nature. True, the comments were tasteless but I believe his intent was not to bring any ill will to DJ Envy or his family. I believe his intent was to gain a response from DJ Envy.
The main point that Starr wanted his listeners to get from his show is intelligent thought and intelligent actions, which is sometimes lacking in the hip hop community. The method that he used was shock. These comments were just another attempt to shock the listeners. I am disgusted that Power 105.1 would take such drastic measures over something that could be resolved with a repremand and/or fine. Starr was the ONLY reason I listened to the radio in the morning. I had NEVER listened before and will NEVER listen again.

Does anyone know what the beef was. All's fair when theres beef my friends. DJ Envy just didnt have the avenues to be heard so broadly as Star was. When a man has beef with another man anything is allowable. Didnt MIKE TYSON say he was gonna eat Holyfields kids. Mike isnt as well spoken and witty as star soo thats where it ended. Furthermore, R. kelly was not convicted of anything so when he said the R kelly comment no one could assume anything

Yes star did go to far but he should have been suspended like the miss jones show on hot 97. Power 105 showed how week they are. This morning I heard Miss Jones was saying another fallen star. She better be careful I could see him going back to hot 97 when this blows over and it will. Then Miss Jones will be the fallen little star.

I have been riding with Star since his days at "Bust a Shot" 97 - Star is over the top, that is why so many people listen to his show. He says what many people think, but would never dare to say; what many people feel but would never admit to; what many people say behind closed doors but would never say in public. He is an Objective Hater, and by definition Objective means - having actual existence or reality. He was speaking the truth! He wasn't trying to be politically correct! He was keeping it rough, rugged and real with the listeners! He went over the top a lot of times to invoke thought. Either you "got it" or you didn't. And those who didn't "get it" are angry because they didn't. It went right over thier heads. Now that I said all of that, I cannot defend what he said about Envy's daughter. I was rolling with Star when he was talking about Envy & Envy's wife. That was cool, but he crossed the line with Envy's daughter. I understand what he was trying to do, but the way he did it was whack! I am a father of 2 beautiful girls, and none of what he said "sat right" with me. That wasn't Objective Hate, that was straight "Nigga Nonesense", but in Star's defense, he prefaced his lude comments that day by acknowledging that he was about to engage in "Nigga Nonesense". Excuse me as I switch gears, Envy proved to everyone that he is a "1/2 a bitch". He started all of this "issh" by trying to punk Star by saying that he was outside of Power 105 waiting for Star and that he wouldn't come out. So Star pulled his "Punk Card" and challenged him to "Show and Prove". I call Envy a 1/2 bitch because although he started this nonsense, when it got REAL, he hid, and let his wife talk for him. His wife is more man then him (no disrespect to her at all). Then he further punked out by not showing up for work at "Bust a Shot" 97 the next day. This is the problem with this new generation - they want to start the "beef" when they really don't know how to "cook it". Star took it way to far I agree - Suspended - Yes! Reprimanded - Yes! Fined - Yes! Fired - I don't know? Peace!!!!! - The Brooklyn Hater - Out!

some people out there didn't learn anything about hate and music entertainment, not even after pac and biggie. It's a shame!!! Public Enemy said: "don't believe the hype", but both get caught up in it. It start's with words and ends with bullets. If you don't have nothing intelligent to say, you better stay quiet. Hate is no entertainment, unless your name is Nero, Mephisto or Hitler. Music should bring people together, not create conflicts. Star has to live with the consequences of his imature behavior, like every hater out there. One way or another. What's it about? Ask yourself, honestly. Who needs that, sexually depressed grown man attacking each other over some bullshit, spittin' poison. Not me, that's not what real hip hop is or ever should be about. Grow up or get lost, peace

105.1 should cash in their chips now.
97.1 has the afternoon, evening, and nightime DJ's on lock.
No one wants to hear ED "eddy mack" Lover's corny ass word of the day... that old mofucker.
105.1 just went from the #1 morning show to who the fuck is 105.1 without Star?
I will leave my radio off in the morning...

I am absolutely floored by what I am reading. I have never seen something so ridiculous in all my life. I am all for freedom of speech, but everything has a line and if we allow every Tom, Dick, and Harry to cross it, the world will be complete chaos. And from what I am reading, it already is. Have you supporters of this crap lost your minds? If you want to hate, then hate. But threats are criminal; threats by adults to kids should be punishable by death. I don't have a child, and I am irate over what that fool said. This wasn't a thin line he crossed. NO! This was a big old hefty line that anyone with half of a pea for a brain would have known not to cross, serious or not. What about those other (yes I said other because he has a sick mind) sickos that listen to his show say "Yeah, that's the ticket" and start thinking it is ok for them to not only say they will do the same things to a child, but also act it out. Did you hear him? He wasn't even breaking! He was so calm that he sounded diabolical. And you have the gumption to sit here and support that shit! You know what I do agree with you about? That Clear Channel is pathetic that it didn't have balls to stand for him when they are the ones to give him the go ahead to lose his freaking mind. Every last one of them should go down for this. If CBS was punishable for a Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction, what makes Clear Channel not liable for this? This is what these stations do. Encourage this mess for ratings. I have never said any of them should be off air in the past. I just stop listening to them. Star and Buc Wild, Ms Jones and DJ Envy. This is the first time I have said that not only did he need to be fired, his license should be taken away and he should face charges. It is not about his threat to Envy or even what he said about his wife. That was beef that him and Envy had and Envy and his wife are adults that can fend for themselves. A child? Someone on here said if he said something bad about their kid, they would be upset and hurt, but they would move on. Granted. But he didn't just insult the kid. He made comments about what he would do to the kid, this following an all out strike to find the kid. Come on! That is waaaaay out of line and if that was my child, I would not take it lightly either. Famous last words: "I didn't think the [crazy-ass] man was serious when he threatened me and mine."
Posted by: incredulous at May 12, 2006 02:00 AM
I am re-reading some of these comments and I couldn't help but ask myself - how many of these folks are being very hypocritical right now?
I am not a Star and Buc Wild fan, and if you are a REAL listener, you would know that he didn't want you to be his fan or to worship him or follow him blindly. He welcomed listeners to "get at him"; to challenge his comments; to look for contradictions and hypocritical statements. He has made references to a few of my emails on the air, and not once was I "dick riding" him or agreeing 100% with what he said. I kept it 100 with that nigger. I always brought it to him and his crew, especially DL-21 - that was not a typo - I know he goes by DX-21, but he was so focused on Chris the Queer that I question if in fact he is an undercover "pillow biter" so I refer to him as DL-21.
Again, I do not condone the comments that Star made toward Envy's daughter. I do not listen to Miss Jones - she is f'ing sickening - so I really don't know what punk ass Envy said about Star, but I do remember the "Tsunami Song", and that was done in very poor taste.
I am assuming that since you are posting on www.hiphopmusic.com, that you consider yourself a hip-hop fan. How many of you listen to The Notorious Biggie Smalls and consider him one of the greatest of all times? Which he is not! Rakim is by far the greatest rapper to grace the microphone, but that is another argument altogether! How many of you that are coming down on Star have the song "What's Beef" in your cd/mp3 player/I-Pod? How many of you consider that a hot track? How many of you remember that he said and I quote - "Hope they know my nigga Gutter fuckin kidnip kids (thats right)
Fuck 'em in the ass, throw 'em over the bridge (aaah)"! How many of you hypocrites were in an uproar about that? How many of you called for the boycott of Biggie? How many of you called for the imprisionment of Biggie? The answer....NONE! I never heard shit about that! I was equally appaled when Biggie put that out....But "I get it"! I am an intellectual thinker and I realize that just as tastless as Star's comments were! The shit is just entertainment at the end of the day, and never for once did I think that Star was going to do anything to Envy's daughter, just as we never thought that Biggie condoned raping and killing children. IT'S FREAKING ENTERTAINMENT! GET OVER IT!
Star was the best thing to happen to morning talk radio....and now, it is just "straight garbage". I scanned through all the stations this morning, and could not stay affixed to any one show. When Star was on the air....I never ventured off! NEVER! Even through the rock "riffs" and I hate rock music.
I don't care if Star shows up at a Rock or Country Station or on Satellite Radio (and I am vehemently opposed to paying for radio - but hell we did it for TV) -NEWSFLASH YOUNG PEOPLE, tv use to be all free - I will bite the bullet and follow Star! Where else can you get superior intellect and nigger nonsense on the same program....YOU GOTTA LOVE IT!
NY radio is dead now! Just got through loading my I-Pod for the morning commute!
Negros, niggas, jews, kikes, white trash, spics, gukes, wops, micks, ginneys, towel heads, fags, dikes, bitches, savages and anybody who had a voice or thier issues addressed on the Star and Buc Wild show. Stand up in protest! Write, call or somehow contact Clear Channel and tell them how they messed up! BRING THE HATE BACK, BRING THE HATE BACK, BRING THE HATE BACK!
Where are you M the Lesbian....rally your butches and queens, and make it happen! Lord knows you are the most powerful entity in America right now. If anybody can make it happen, you can!

Incredulous, I feel ya. As I finished reading some of the posts in support of Star's actions, something came clear to me. It's obvious you are a lil more educated or traveled, and some of the posters are young. One of the biggest arguments for hip hop, is that words convey meaning. Yet, some of the posts attempt to dismiss the meaning or excuse the behaviour. Words have power. Isn't that what hip hop always tried to put out? Why does hip hop influence you if the words don't have power? What about church, politics, civil rights leaders, etc....? His words had power: They inspired fear in a mother's heart for her child, they struck at the well being of a baby, and threatened the sanctity of a man's family. It isn't disheartening that some of you show support for him, but that you actually dismiss or excuse his WORDS. And we wonder why other races say we are self-destructive.

I listened to Star daily but let me take a shot at him. His comments are at times vulgar to say the least. He goes to far and sometimes I question his creditbility and turn down my radio. Especially when he is giving advice. Star does not know everything. No one does.
I hated what he said about the children and wife but this is part of his package. Sometimes Steve Harvey, Oprah, Desperate Housewives, Don King and Pres. Bush, Jack Welch and others use tactics that are out of line or in poor taste to get their message across.
I dislike some of what every entertainer/politician/leader does but I still try to find gems in what they do. Star sometimes shows great respect to people on the show but most importantly he offered information on various topics. This to me is a great show of respect for any listener. Some of us like to be purely entertained by way of laughter. Some of us like edutainment. No matter what we all love to hate Star. He's winning the war but lost this battle.

Free speech or the mirage of it comes to play again. This is NY radio this is HIP-HOP all of the people in the Hip-POP world need to realize this is what happens. I didn't hear Nas or his wife go to the police when Jay came at him on Super Ugly talking about his daughter and everything. THIS IS HIP-HOP and the more we allow others to control our culture the more diluted it becomes. THIS HIP-POP GENERATION IS KILLING OUR CULTURE.
Stop being Robots and stand up for the written law.
Posted by: LogicCache at May 12, 2006 08:27 AM
Simbul, I appreciate your comments. I agree. When I was growing up, people would say "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me." It was cute then. But it is not even close to true now. Words are powerful. They can mobilize a nation or crumble the spirit. And that is dangerous.
Dt said that all of these celebrities push the limit a bit at one time or another. Touche. You are correct, but let's get an example. Say you have a friend that likes to party a lot and when they party they get drunk often. When they are drunk, they may not be the most pleasant person to be around, they may be inappropriate or a bit embarassing. But you excuse it all because they are for the most part a good person and fun to be around, even if they are a bit over the top at times - even for you. Then one day, they get drunk and comes over to your house while your family is there. They are not only embarassing, they start to call all of your family members out of their face, call your mother all kinds of b$%&hes, start spilling secrets you have told and gets so angry that they start to smash stuff purposely (albeit drunk) in your house. Would you want him in your house ever again? Around your family that he endangered? To even be around him since now he took it too far and can not be trusted? The fact that he/she was drunk would be irrelevant since he/she gets drunk so often. That is the problem here. Star is a hater. Everyone knows that and accepted that. But you have to know what is a appropriate where and when. Threatening an innocent child? Never appropriate.
There is pusing the envelope, and ripping it to pieces. The latter was done here.

I have listened to Star a few times down here in Philly. His show was good at times, but the hate was always a problem. Now this. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ENVY STARTED THIS! Star, as a grown-ass man, has a responsibility to his own family and on-air staff not to engage in activity that would endanger their livelihoods. Talking about another mans wife and child is a line not to be crossed. Not only did he do that, but he did it in a way that can only be interpreted as criminal. Now Clear Channel will have to fight to keep its license and not pay too big a fine. DJ Envy and his family will have to look over their shoulders for sickos who think they can get a payout from Star for doing something bad. The on-air staff has lost their jobs. And Star may go to jail. However, I think that may be the least of his problems. Envy will now be looked as less than a man if he doesn't respond. With something like this, the only response may be GP. This can get real bad, depending on what people try to instigate. This beef needs to be squashed and fast.

Star has no kids of his own, no woman, and is middle aged in his 40's. He is self loathing closet homo fool, who engages in juvenile behavior like this to expedite his own demise.
I do believe with a good enough attorney, Envy can lay this fool down and serve a light sentence or beat the case. Blatant sexual threats against toddlers don't do much for prosecutors looking for a slam dunk conviction.

Star and Bucwild Show was the best thing that happened to radio in a long time. No one is going to listen to The Beat 103.5 in Miami in the mornings now. I hate listening to the radio because of the simple fact that they have fake DJs. Star always kept it 100%.

For all who said this is"Real Hip-Hop". Are you on dog food or dope? When did hip hop become child pornagraphy and insult to family? If you have beef with another man, handle it man to man. Don't be no punk and attack a man family just to get under his skin. If you had a " Real" problem with the man why don't Star go to him. A coward have to have a audience but a "Real" man need only himself and God. Stop co-signing for this ridicules antics. Whether he was playing or not is not the question it is what he said. Would you all be saying that if he crack like that on your kid? I don't think nothing would be able to stop me from having his soul...Keep it "Real" be a man and go man to man. We accept anything thats why we fall by the wayside. Hold this man responsible for what he said.

Where was all the outrage when JayZ was talking about leaving used condoms on Nas' child's baby seat? Was it cool because it was Jay? NO IT's BECAUSE IT IS A PART OF HIP-HOP. We ok killing over and over on music tracks we even boost the sales of MCs who are shot or in a shootout and now we get so MORALLY RIGHTEOUS over a 40 something year old DJ with issues.

As I read this page, I am dismayed. This world has really gone to HELL! When is it funny, entertaining, or okay to speak of a child in the manner that Star did? Although others have made comments that were similar, NO ONE HAS GONE AS FAR AS STAR. And maybe that's what his sick behind was going for. He wanted to go places and do things that no one has ever done. In the end, he didn't go to an uncommon place. His mind took him straight too hell! Ang, guess what, there are already a lot of people there! I cannot understand how Star has so many fans. You people love him like he's Jesus. Star's insightful, he's educated, blah blah blah. Get a life. There is nothing insightful, intelligent, or sane about this pedophile. Any person who can speak of raping a child with such ease is definitely crazy. People keep saying "this is hip hop". Please tell me what part of it. I am 36 years old and have never seen this in hip hop before. Did I miss something? STOP, LOOK, AND LISTEN, THIS IS NOT HIP HOP! Ms Jones made a joke about a situation in which about 250000 human beings lost their life and she received a slap on the wrist. Star is star which is why clear channel hired him. he brought the ratings and now they fire him for being hisself. Whether wrong or not. They shoudl of taken the time to think about the situation before firing him. I wouldnt be surprised if he received a huge package to go quietly though.

This is to all the people who say Star is so "intelligent". Star uses a lot of big words and because of this he might sound intelligent to uneducated fools. If you really listen and comprehend his babble, you would see that he is nothing but a stupid blow hard who's full of hot air. He just proved how stupid he is by getting fired from a $5 million dollar job, all because he is too much of a pussy to confront DJ Envy like a man.

Yo I don't care what Enyy said or did. That was tasteless and idoitic of Starr to let someone else make him lose his job. Yeah some of you Starr supporters might say what he did for the radio station and HipHop, But as a grown man he knows that there are limits and for every action there is a reaction. He has no one to blame but hisself. Now if he's all that you fans claims he is he'll back somewhere else. I hope he learns his lesson

Finally I got a take on all of this that I can stand. I've checked his site before but former co-host on Star's show, Crossover Negro Reese commented on the whole thing. He's stayed away from anything and everything Star and Buc Wild before this and now looks like a genius for jumping ship before the axe fell. He still says he's got nothing to say about Star but he did say that he warned listeners in the past not to go after "his" children when they (listeners) became annoyed or offended by him. Was the writing on the wall? Who knows but it's worth a listen. http://www.thecrossoveronline.com

I have been reading these posts for a minute and have a few points to make. For everone that said "I would have went down to the station and got at Star for talking about my kids" ......that was the point. Days earlier, Star got at Envy (who he called Benji) and told him to see him over some comment that he made. People talk a lot over the microphone and Star was daring him to step up to the plate. Envy ingored him. THEN Star made his comments about Envy's kid WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT NOW THAT I HAVE TALKED ABOUT YOU KIDS YOU CAN NO LONGER IGNORE ME. The idea was that He said over the radio that he wanted to R. Kelly your child because any man worth his salt would have been there after the show was up. Period. End of story. Do I believe he went over the top on that one, sure. But it should not have cost him his job.
One person did make a comment to the effect of some fool actually taking him serious and trying to get that info......I agree that it could have caused a problem. But that is a problem with any media outlet. How many times have you heard someone say something in a national outlet that could have started something....(think about the movie "The Program" with the two drunk boys laying in the middle of the street)? I aggree that everyone must be accountable for their actions......but that also lies true with the listener.
Many of you are commenting on this situation because your have read the transcript or caught part of the show. While you have a right to your oppinions, it is only those people who heard it all in its entire context that are truly able to discuss (with insight) the penalties that should be brought to this. Star's show is indeed an acquired taste and he was over the top, but he didnot intend an harm to Envy's children.....he wanted to expose Envy's unwillingness to see him man to man versus to talking a bunch of ish on the radio.
Posted by: SirYohan at May 12, 2006 04:15 PM
Star goes to jail... This is some real sh*t! I don't think he was serious, I think he was just trying to get envy heated... But you don't get your man back like that! Star, you're a wild dude and this was definently an idiot move. What were you thinking!Question: What's beef? This sh*t right here will get someone killed, f*ck going to jail...

You can say whatever you want, with the most politically-correct words possible, but I hope they FUCK HIM UP in prison! I hope they do all the things he said he'd like to do the little girl. He could've said whatever he wanted to about Envy, even his wife. But the moment he crossed the line to as he admitted to "disrespect" the kid, he went too far! I hope he gets beat the hell down in prison!

You're wrong, it should have cost him his job because Star works for someone else, if he was self employed then maybe he could have gotten away with it, but Clear Cannel doesn't want to get fined by the FCC so as far as they were concerned "that nigger has got to go". Come on black people, you have to be careful working for white folkes, don't you understand that by now?? And they were paying him $5 million dollars a year, shit he should have known better than to cross the line!

To DE Bomb,
Clear channel knew what they were getting when they hired Star. I could point to numerious people and situations in which the content, if acted on would prove to be problematic. The truth of this, however, is that two radio personalities got into what would amount to a "yo moma" contest and the whole situation was blown up, taken out of context, and made out to be something it was not. Star's point was that a lot of people talk ish on the air waves, but are a punk when it comes time to back it up. Envy mouthed off and Star responded. Case closed. He is not a pedephile, there is no gun play, Star is not going to do anything to Envy's kids. It is two men on the airwaves that forgot white people get scared when they don't know what black people are doing. Period. Stop making out to be this big thing.....the media is doing that already.

do not think Star should have apologized and the reason I am saying this is because whats said is said and words cannot be taken back in any shape form or fashion. It is amazing that we are more interested in what a man said on one day when we have a President that talks crap all day everyday. We need to let this go and look at what is going on in this world instead of what is going on with what a DJ says. Our President is killing children and making up crap why are we up in arms this man (Star) hasn't touched anyone when everyday people are dying! And yes I am a parent of 3 wonderful children and if that was said about my children I don't know how I would take it but we should all take a look at what is really happening there is a bigger agenda than a DJ talking SHIT

Heck! I just switched the dial toanother station at 6:05 a.am yesterday morning. Power 105.1 your mornings are meaningless and empty without the vigorous entertainment of the Star and Buckwild Show. You will drastically reduce your youthful listenerhip base.

Police arrest DJ after radio rants
By TOM HAYS
Associated Press Writer
NEW YORK (AP) -- A syndicated hip-hop disc jockey was arrested Friday on charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child amid an uproar over his on-air racial and sexual rants about a radio rival's wife and 4-year-old daughter.
Police officials had launched a hate crime investigation of DJ Star on Thursday after reviewing a transcript of his recent remarks about DJ Envy and his family.
DJ Star, whose real name is Troi Torain, was contacted by police on Friday and ordered to surrender a 9mm handgun and target practice permit at Police Headquarters. When he arrived, he was arrested and taken to the 1st Precinct stationhouse in lower Manhattan, said police spokesman Paul Browne.
The arrest capped a bad week for Torain.

ZIP code where you park at night:
Do you currently have auto insurance? Yes No
Have you had a U.S. driver's license for more than 3 years? Yes No
Has any driver in your household had 2 or more accidents or moving violations in the last 3 years? Yes No
After city Councilman John C. Liu and other outraged elected officials called a press conference to publicly scold Torain, he was fired on Wednesday from his job at Clear Channel Radio's Power 105.1 FM. Clear Channel, a unit of Clear Channel Communications Inc., said it found his statements "wholly unacceptable."
Not satisfied, the politicians demanded a criminal investigation - and immediately got one.
"This is a real consequence for Torain and sends a real message to other would-be racist pedophile radio stooges that they are not immune from the law," Liu said in a statement.
A call to Torain's attorney, Benjamin Brafman, was not immediately returned. The lawyer had apologized on behalf of his client on Thursday, calling the remarks "unsuitable and inappropriate."
In the comments, made between May 3 and Monday, Torain - co-host of the "Star & Buc Wild Morning Show" - offered $500 to any listener who could provide information about the rival DJ's daughter's school and used racial slurs when talking about his wife, who is part Asian.
"I will come for your kids," Torain said, according to transcribed excerpts provided by Liu's office. "I finally got the information on his slant-eyed, whore wife."
Torain also called the couple's child a "little half a lo mein eater" and said he wanted to "do an R. Kelly on your seed, on your little baby girl. I would like to tinkle on her," according to the excerpts.
The comments apparently alluded to videotapes in 2002 showing a man bearing a strong resemblance to singer R. Kelly having sex with someone who appeared to be an underage girl and then urinating on her.
Torain and his half brother, Timothy Joseph, or Buc Wild, hosted Hot 97's morning drive time show beginning in 2000 and joined Clear Channel Radio in March 2004. They began working at Power 105 in January 2005.
Their show aired in markets including Philadelphia, Miami and Richmond, Va.

This is just unacceptable! This guy gets on the radio and disrespects women and now children??? He's a fag and somebody will be running trains and doing R.Kellys on his weird ass real soon! Why has he been allowed to stay on air this long? I think the people that indulged in his nonsense every morning from HOT 97 TO 105 need to do some serious self evaluations! He is 2 horns short of being the devil himself!Come on black people- can't we can find better ways to entertain ourselves?
Posted by: W T F !!!!! at May 12, 2006 06:48 PM
If he had made racist or sexist comments while working for any other company in the US he would have been fired. Why should he get special consideration because his job is to speak into a microphone? Seems like 1st Amendments rights do not apply.

Well when the 15 mins of fame ends we will see him on VH1's where are they now
You know entertainment is entertainment but a fuckup is a fuckup and thats what that was
Nut isn't it funny how many of us sat at home and laughed while he was saying that shit and how we were all holding our breath so we could hear every word
and everyone knows even his family, friends and co-workers now thinks he's a bitch because they laughed to when they heard
Like damn nigga this nigga still walking and talking breathing God's air wow
I don't condone violence but oh hell yeah it would have gone down
But to all of us that laughed I know we are still laughing

Funny thing is that most people downing his antics are usually the people he attacked..........the bigots, idiots and self-hatredmongers like almost all of yourselves here. The same ones who refer to themselves as "nigga" & wonder why we get no respect from other ethnic groups and can't spell and/or write simple sentences.
Star said MOST things to wake us up from our stupor of idiotic foolishness and listless activity. He challenged all and proved what he said. He was wrong to threaten and scare people like that, yes, but the bulk of his work is good.
I don't think I am better than everyone, I just know I am worth more than the BS we are given daily and I follow through with actions which hold me, myself, accountable for what I do for my own betterment- that was Star's message............ wake up people.

I feel you Star! F*ck that 911 callin mother f*cker. Freedom of speech USA!
Posted by: Ed at May 12, 2006 08:07 PM
How come he only had to turn in his 9MM? He always talked about the 4lb and Bushmaster, which I laughed quite hard, thinking he probably never hit a thing at 250 yards with that piece of shit. Its a chipe ass version of a AR and dude probably couldnt zero it without a scope if he prayed while trying. Iron Sights suck on that piece of shit. The bush is a nice piece for a wanna-be week-end hobbyist but nothing like a nice H&K Model 91 or 93.
Dude needs to get over himself, like he isnt the first to be locked, cocked and Hydro-Shocked!
I liked his show in the MIA, but he was way way to cocky for his own good. And to everyones amazement he didnt know the line of what is acceptable in main stream.
Posted by: Wicked Thinker at May 12, 2006 08:22 PM
Lets look at this for a minute from all points of view and yes there are many points of view
This is a man who has the power to say what he wants we are all ranting and raving about what he has said but the truth of the matter is if we don't make a big deal of this then it will go away
This WAS NOT entertainment it was boffunary and I hate that our people have made another thing for other races to glance at us and say wow they are worst than we thought
It is a shame that we are in a country where we after all these years are now back to being the shit on the end of the stick Mexicans are now passing us they have marched and accomplished something and we are still sitting on our asses and acting as if our 40 acres and a mule will be hand delivered to us
Its amazing that illegal aliens were able to march and protest and are still here
Wow what a way to begin a year 2012 there will be a Mexican President and we will all be the ones doing the jobs that we don't want to do now
This should be a wake-up call to all that we are going down the toilet fast
I have read alot of the statements here and I agree with many of you but we need to find another term other than just entertainment because entertainment is meant to entertain not hurt, cause fear or kill, have we not learned from rappers that have passed, our ancestors or from different races that stand together, blacks always stand alone unless they are doing bad, mean and hateful things then we got the whole hood behind us
Yes Star got cred cause he's still walking around but when he bites the dust(all it takes is pressure from the right person and DJ Envy will snap) he will just be another one that bit the dust!!
Posted by: Let's Look at it Like This at May 12, 2006 08:44 PM
To all of those who dont believe that Star should have been fired you are just as much of a disgusting embarassment to society as he is. Nevermind the fact that he said what he said for entertainment value or the fact that it is free speech. He actually took the time out to spell out the terrible sexual crimes he would commit on a four year old girl. Wether he actually intended to do so or not, it takes someone without a soul to even say so. I am happy he was fired. There is no place on the airwaves for people like that. If someone had said those types of things about your children or anyone you know you would be ready to take some action. The FCC or whoever got his ass fired did a great job. And I hope he is never able to earn another penny in the entertainment or any other industry. Think about how that little girl would have felt if she had the misfortune of hearing and understanding the statements that were made against her. AND YOU ALL KNOW that if someone had said anything remotely racist about black people you would ask for his head not just his job. FUCKING HYPOCRITES!

I just read a couple of the emails but it is ridiculous....and not on Star's part. I don't know exactly what was said on Dj Envy's part to piss Star off but it had to be something real serious. I am an avid listener and Star is a hater but to come out like that Envy had to have been pushing him. I listened to the whole convo that day and Star (if anyone REALLY knows Star) they would know how he is always coming out with stupid comments to get people to hate him. I honestly do not believe that he meant those comments personally and for Dj Envy and his punk ass wife to go to these lengths they just decided to get at him the 'white mans way' instead of the street way and that in it's self shows he's a punk.

I have read these comments made by a few of us. Listen, I did like Star until I read what he said about this child. This is a comment specifically for the ass hole miz-e..I take it you dont have kids and obviously if you did you don't give a fuck about the welfare of children. This nigga Star is an outright asshole and yes I listened to his show every day. He says things that are what should be said about us as a people but for an educated black man to open his mouth and continue to say this shit over and over about doing something to this man's child is just a bunch of bullshit. So to you my friend get a fucking life and stop condoning idiots like Star and the shit that's right they are not words..the shit that he says.

I listen to Star in the morning down in Philly and I must admit, it is a guilty pleasure. I feel like I'm wrong for supporting the show but none the less I don't want to miss what he has to say. I disagree with most of what he says but I really liked his team. I heard part of the broadcast about DJ Envy and I did think it was CRAZY. I was in my car gaulking. I would definitely be fired up if someone made those comments about my family. I congratulate Envy for handling the situation the right way because I would have just called "Pookie and Dem" to kick his ass!!! He deserves the termination without a doubt. I will miss the show but right is right and wrong is wrong. He was way out of line.
Posted by: kia at May 13, 2006 07:38 AM
the words in all are disgusting, but everyone know it was just verbal retaliation for all the other bullshit being said on the radio. Theese comments were invited by Envy...... Envy threatened Star and Star's mom, took a journet to the station{105.1} with intent to cause bodily harm. If that's not aggrivated harrasement, what is. and wasn't it Envy who said nothing can bother him, unless you disrespect his wife and kids. Star got pissed and wanted to hurt him. Nothing more nothing less. Does Gia really think that she or her husband and kids are that important in Stars life. Star wanted to piss someone of....appears to have suceeded. He'll be back hopefully, he'll more than likely be paid more, and if he has to go to Satellite radio. believe me they will have a heap of new customers.
Posted by: Dawn at May 13, 2006 08:07 AM
Serves hime right. Black people always get away with saying racist crap, particularly against Asians. Then, they try to downplay it by spoutiung off some crap like "I can't be racist, race plus power equals racism." Haha, that does not even make sense. My only surprise is that Asians don't speak up more.
Serves this jerk-off right.
Posted by: Blastin at May 13, 2006 08:38 AM
If you believe what Star said was entertainment you are truly sick. I would've expected him to take the high road. He would still be on the air. Instead he sunk lower and it only shows how bad it's gotten. They'll be repercussions at HOT 97, but make no mistake, Star took it way too far. By the way, though he is another idiot, give me an example where Howard Stern said he'd like to sexually assault a 4 yr old. If you ask me, the day after Star was fired was the first time I had heard the most music on the radio. I'm tired of hearing all the endless talk and commercials anyway.

MISS JONES SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED FOR THE TSUNAMI SONG LAUGHING AT THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS WHO DIED IN THE TRAJEDY.
DJ "STAR" WAS FIRED FOR HIS REMARKABLY OFFENSIVE, DISGUSTING AND CRIMINAL COMMENTS THAT REACHES OVER INTO BAD CHILD PORN.
DJ's on the air reach millions. They have a social responsibility.
When you shock, you at least they have to be funny. They weren't even 1% funny for these skits, they were 100% offensive and mean. People don't feel the physical pain from abuse after time but mental abuse and hurtful words in peoples mind last a lifetime.
This black/hispanic man applauds John Liu in stopping the pain & insults to his community.
IF a KKKer made songs on Hot97 laughing at the "N...." who drowned in New Orleans and wanting
to sodomize black 4 year girls, would that DJ last on the air for 1 day?
It's terrible.

He was just getting back at Envy, but what about his listeners. People out there really want to do this shit. They hear someone they respect saying it and maybe they feel not as wrong, and go ahead and do it. Or maybe theyre resisting the urge and hearing talk like this pushes them over the edge. He endangered a lot of kids but he cant take the words back. I hope he can find a way to work against it.

Do any of you people think that CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO (The largest media corporation in the country) would have spent 17 MILLION dollars to hire this cat without doing some research into his past...and weighing it against their bottom line? People...get a f&%#$n clue! This shit didnt begin on Monday! This shit is all about JUICE! Emmis vs Clear Channel.....Hot 97 vs Power 105.....Star vs Envy! ALL OF THESE MUTHAFUKKA'S ARE GUILTY! The white muthafukkas sittin behind the big desks or on the board of directors at both these corporations been leanin back in their chairs rubbin their big ass guts while collectin those fat ass advertising checks generated by BOTH of these shows. Star AND Envy both have ANOTHER MUTHAFUKKAS NAME scribbled at the bottom of those checks they cash. Both these cats wanna act like they thugs...right....wanna be "gully on the microphone"! What about the white boys in Long Island...... They made a entire song about a phony resteraunt, called wet back steakhouse...... apology..OK. Tsunami song Suspension, apology OK....... I don't get the problem. Other than Star did in some ways attempt to educate the uneducated. He also shared music that some people mever thought of listnening to. If you try to help the black race in some way, as soon as something goes wrong believe me, it will be broadcast news. They will try to take your path away from you.

I don't uphold what star said about the 4 year old in no way shape or fashion. He should'nt be fired but something should be done. But here are some questions answer them to your self honestly you don't need to post to the board your answers.
1. What would you do if someone said that about your kids?
2. What would you do if someone spoke damaging words about one of your deceas
