May 30, 2006Prosecutor Decides Proof Shooting Was Self-DefenseNot actually self-defense, but you know what I mean. He'll only be facing weapons charges from here on in: Posted by jsmooth995 at May 30, 2006 05:14 PM Comments
I am wondering if we'll will find out what happened. God knows... Posted by: Christian bass player at June 6, 2006 08:30 AM This is when keeping it real goes horribly wrong Attention to all rappers , gangstas and wanna b's we need to get a new code of ethics that will stop people from dying over stupid shit until that happens this kinda shit will always fuck up lives and families especially those of Black and under Posted by: Bruce at June 7, 2006 01:37 PM Hahaha, shooting someone 3 times isnt self defence, or defending someone else. Self Defence is stoping someone from performing offence towards yourself or someone, and naturaly one shot would have stopped Proof. Tests showed he had alcohol and nicotine in his system, no Meth or XTC, so he after one shot he would be on the ground, what the hell were the other 2 shots for?? To make sure he was dead, and when ur ensuring the death of another person, that is a murder. Posted by: R&R C.D.K. at June 12, 2006 11:36 PM Man...they kill da best lyricist of da group..niggaz need2 stop hatin 4real..dis shit gettin out of hand Posted by: Water at June 13, 2006 12:25 AM Three shots is standard procedure for self defense, including in the United States armed forces, of which I am a member. Alcohol and nicotine are both mind-affecting substances, and it is a fact that alcohol diminishes the ability to feel pain. Under the influence of alcohol, a human being can withstand the pain of a bullet wound. It's not the number of shots that matter, and it's also not the intent. I have the right to fire until I believe that my life or the lives of others is no longer in jeopardy. If that takes the entire magazine, then so be it. Posted by: Justin at June 18, 2006 04:26 PM Was the individual in the club at 3am under the influence of alcohol in the US armed forces?? Did he consider the rules when making the life taking consideration? Was the gun even legal? If so why was he given the gun charges, and if not, then wuldnt the same rights that aply for you be different for him?? Alota people may base their reason for murder on these rights, but there are two bodies and plenty of family and friends that may contridict that arguement. And in most armed forces isnt a head shot a last resort method? Posted by: R&R C.D.K. at June 19, 2006 06:36 AM Three shots, read. Two were at the ceiling. One was at Proof. Posted by: bob at June 23, 2006 10:22 AM Na man, dont get it twisted ae, Three shots were in Proof, 2 in the chest and one in the head, that all excludes the shoots in the ceiling, done my research man-- "According to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, Proof was shot three times in the head and the chest." i got that on sum website which im not gonna post coz i dont wanna advertise other sites, but you'l find the info if u Google "proof shooting". Posted by: R&R C.D.K. at June 27, 2006 02:20 AM I don't know how many times Proof was shot, but it doesn't matter, because what happened should not have happened. As for R&R C.D.K.'s comments on whether the other victim was drunk and in the Armed Forces...first of all, he was no longer in the military (retired because of a heart problem), if he was drunk or had been drinking, he was an adult of legal age, so what is the problem? He was a decorated soldier who served his country with honor and respect, the type of respect he is lacking in the wake of this tragedy. His family had to solicit donations to bury him, while Proof was spared no expense and buried near Rosa Parks. What's up with that? How about asking this question: why did Proof have a gun? Why is he being made to look more like he was a victim of circumstances? I lived and worked with Keith Bender for over 3 years. I know his family, we shared the same friends, hung out occasionally, our kids went to school together. I know this is a tragedy that needs to be addressed, but the real tragedy is happening right now, with the lack of respect being shown for this man who risked his life everyday for his country and the people of this country. All Proof did was make a few rap songs, belittle women, and try to imitate what he rapped about, and look what it got him. One final thing: from what I understand, everything was okay that night until Proof showed up, drunk four times over the legal limit, looking for trouble. Keith Bender was only there to celebrate a new lease on life, given to him with news that he no longer had to have a pacemaker in his chest. Stop gloriying these rappers evertime one of them gets into trouble or worse. I used to be a fan of rap and hip-hop, but after this, I gladly turn my membership card in! Posted by: mike at July 20, 2006 04:19 PM First of all, take a self defense or CCW course and you will find that three shots is acceptable when halting an attack that could harm you or anyone around you. The fact that he fired two to the chest and one to the head shows that he had used his training. Even police officers are taught to return fire in this manner. Secondly, the rapper in question was out of line and threatened the lives of everyone in the bar when he returned with a firearm and provoked a firefight. Once he left he should have stayed gone. Being smart would have saved his life. Posted by: Jim at September 30, 2006 05:10 AM |
