Nas "Where Y'all At"

As previously stated, I could care less who represents from where, I only care what the music sounds like. But if all the "Bring NY Back" exhortation means more people making more songs that sound like this, I'm all in favor of it. (via okp)

Yeah I peeped this track yesterday. I wasn't feeling the hook but it felt great to hear Nas reppin again.

BTW ... did anyone hear that new KRS-One cut "My Life"? OMG! Reminds me of what real hip hop should sound like... cats need to take note. [waits for bashing] lol

Super Funky-Fresh!

I'm proud of the God.

I ain't tryin' be greedy or nuntin', but yo can we get some scratchin' on a new Nas song?

I know people are tryin' phase scratchin outta Hip-Hop production (9th Wonder get ya weight up), but yo that shit is like Lawry's season salt or Frank's hot sauce or some shit.

Mad flavor on a hip-hop song. Banging seasoning.

Thanks Nas.

It's sad that people dont take a lot of time to listen to lyricas content. Most are too much into beat and not word power. Nas is definately one of the greatest lyricists. Only other I see like him today is Talib Kweli. I'd like to see a collab with them

Posted by: Reggaewatch at July 4, 2006 07:24 PM

And to give justice this beat is classic. You cannot allow these lyrics to disappear between studio effects. This is real hip hop. Simple keys and strings. That irreplacable snare, occasional cymbal. Dude forces you to listen and learn while grooving to a well spaced bass line. Keeping the scratching out and adding a little background crowd - makes you reminisce of the early street beginnings of hip hop NY! I still want to hear Nas and Talib

nas needs to have sex more often. find better beats to rhyme to

I like Nas' new joint, it reminds me of his earlier work and that's never a bad thing. All I really want to know is, when is this new album with Def Jam actually dropping?

This is by far the hottest track I have heard in years. Salaam Remi once again has made a real hip hop beat; simplistic, raw, soulful and leaving enough space for NaS to truly shine. NaS' flow is airtight and effortless and as always the metaphors are sick. I honestly think there is no-one else else in hip-hop who could flow like him, not even Jay, and trust me I love Jay. NaS has stepped it up to another level with this one, and if Jay wants to come back he's gonna have to come up with something new, and stop that De-ja-vu nonsense. Others can bang out to Laffy Taffy and then diss NaS for "being too smart" but make no mistake, this is real hip-hop. Lyrically he's just too deep for the average listener I guess!

"Roll the dice, bring change when I gamble"

this is the kind of song that separates real hip-hop heads from TRL bitches.

Simple...the rawest and realest lyricist on earth's surfice. 50 can eat a dick with AIDS on the tip and die slowly... NaS got it locked from day 1 so where the fuck was the Gay-Unit then?

KING NaS, welcome back to roast they asses!

The new Nas track is hot as hell. I hope that his new LP will be good.
P.S.- Why is it that everytime someone compares Nas to another artist, it's always 50 Cent, Ja Rule, or Jay-Z? Ja Rule's been dead since '03. Jay-Z's retired, and the 50 vrs Nas beef didn't even give Fif the publicity that he wanted. Compare Nas to something else other than a dead person, a retired person, and the 2 quarters man.

This is a hot track...the beat is crazy and Nas' delivery is tight. I only hope that the rest of the 'Hip Hop Is Dead' LP is as solid. I have my fingers crossed that this album really is the one that the fans have been waiting for.
