NBA Slam Dunk Contest, 2001

Vince Carter, Steve Francis, Tracy Mcgrady. Remember these days, when the slam dunk contest had players you actually heard of?

i'd just like to point out that at the time, tracy mcgrady was still playing second fiddle to vc on the raps and was not a star. carter was known mostly as a dunker and not much else at this point. francis was a rookie and not a household name by any means. and this is the 2000 slam dunk competition, not the 2001.

If you haven't heard of Andre Iguodala, then you "certainly" don't know your basketball history. Andre Iguodala was well-known in the Arizona College basketball team. Amazing to think how well he became a star so quickly. And Nate Robinson is popular just by how he plays and the teams he's been on. Josh Smith is one of the best players I have ever seen. Its no wonder he got in the 2006 Slam Dunk Contest. As for Hakim Warrick, I'm not so sure that he was the best. I was hoping for Andre to win, Nate Robinson and Hakim took too many times trying to make slam dunks and failed. Josh Smith had some good ideas, but Andre's under-the-rim dunk was the 3rd best dunk I've seen of any dunks... I haven't seen anything like that. Everyone had good ideas, but didn't finish them quite the way they wanted it to. As for me, I think Andre should of won. Nate Robinson and Andre Iguodala were in the last remaining round. I think that Nate Robinson took to many tries to get the points that he got, they should deduct players points for missing at least 5 times. Andre Iguodala should of won and everyone knows it.
