The New York Yankees acquired catcher Ivan Rodriguez from the Detroit Tigers for relief pitcher Kyle Farnsworth, adding a 13-time Gold Glove winner to replace the injured Jorge Posada.

Ivan Rodriguez, whose nickname is "Pudge," is batting .295 with five home runs and 32 runs batted in.

"We felt that Pudge Ivan Rodriguez will really help our club," Yankees manager Joe Girardi told reporters during an interview on the Yankees Entertainment & Sports network. "He's a Hall-of-Fame catcher coming in, and he's been playing very well."

New York lost Posada two days ago when he decided to undergo season-ending surgery to repair his injured right shoulder. Posada had been playing hurt all season and was batting .268 with three home runs and 22 runs batted in. Jose Molina and Chad Moeller had been filling in. Now IVan Rodriguez will fill in this hole at the backstop.

I’m a big Yankees fan, coz they are really professional baseball team! I used to attend their games just to see their professional plays. They have captivated millions of fans. And they are also the best-selling American team even their tickets are hard to come by and often sky high. Thankfully I found a website where I found cheap ones. Now I will have the chance to attend all their games with low prices. Here is the link; I thought this will interest you:
