The first fight may have left some doubt. The rematch did not.

Georges St. Pierre dominated B.J. Penn on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC 94 main event ended when Penn’s corner called the bout after the fourth round.

Penn, the 30-year-old UFC lightweight champion, fought off takedowns in the first. St. Pierre, the 27-year-old UFC welterweight champion, grabbed gesingle-legs but couldn’t finish them, though he used his length on the feet to score points in the end of the round.

St. Pierre finally finished a single-leg to start the second. He was able to posture up and land a solid left hand to his Hawaiian opponent’s jaw, which helped open a serious pass to side control. St. Pierre landed a right as before Penn got his guard back. Penn showed his flexibility from the bottom, but he could not control St. Pierre, who punched and elbowed from the top.

It was a round that clearly belonged to St. Pierre and set the tone for the rest of the fight.

The French Canadian GSP fed Penn some jabs to open the third. Penn’s nose began to leak blood, and St. Pierre began to dominate. On the ground, St. Pierre passed to side control and punished Penn with short punches and elbows.

Excelent wrestling by GSP. His takedowns where precise and his groundwork proved that he has evloved amazingly well and continues to evolve. BJ Penn showed great heart to carry on moving, and try and defend as much as possible but GSP was to much for him. Great display.

dominating ground control by gsp throughout the entire match. Did three simple things every time while on top...1. advanced when the opportunity presented itself and stayed in his power positions. 2. backside underhook control negated any escapes and 3. frontside head control kept bj from shrimping into a more safe position. kept bj flat on his back, something that must be dome for control, and out powered his opponent in every aspect. looked like a diesel vs. ford tempo. the size difference, strength and wrestling was too much for penn. i found it surprising how effortless gsp made it look to pass butterfly guard to half, and from half into side control. penn's jiu jitsu looked very rusty and flat. then again what do i know
