Ryan on Farrah's Last Moments

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

In this interview with Meredith Viera, Ryan O'Neal is speaking for the first time since Farrah Fawcett died, remembering her final moments, and about the love they shared and the courage and spirit she showed, both of which were so inspiring for millions of fans.

Farrah Fawcett was a cultural icon for her generation, and even though her death was somewhat overshadowed, it was a powerful story that deserves to be told and honored more than it was at first. Hopefully Ryan O'neal can help do it justice, and do Farrah justice. He also talks in the interview about Farrah's last conversation with her son, and his plans to get his life together.

"[Doctors] thought that she would live just another couple of hours, and she lived a couple of days," O'Neal says of his longtime love, who spent her last days at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. "So I had a bed put in the room for me. And I just lay by her side. She wouldn't -- move on. She wouldn't pass..."

She was in this world a light. Kind and generous with herself, even in the most awkward celebrity moments. Humble and really giving human. She is missed no doubt, and is loved by many who had the pleasure of meeting her. She is back with her creator...

Farrah was a true Hollywood star through and through. I'm old enough to say I watched Charlie's Angels on TV when it first started showing! And yup I had that famous Farrah poster too. but Farrah Fawcett really showed she was a real actress with that other moviem where she played the abused woman in Burning Bed. I wonder if that one is out on DVD? More people should see that so they can know she was a real actress and not only a beautiful star. She will always be remembered and loved.

May God bless you Farrah, you were truly an ICON, it is such a shame to me that when you passed you only recieved minimual air way time, and someone like Michael Jackson who clearly was a the very least troubled, and very much an addict, and showed no appreciation for his gifts, and talent fame, and dtatus in this life, and clearly had the money means, and power to do so, it made me sick how backwards this country has become, lets celebrate someone who was drug addicted, and clearly had no regard for his lofe or the lofe of his children, and lets keep someone of your stature in life at bay, but I can assure you and Ryan, and dear Redmind most of us out there know who the real hero and Icon is thats you Farrah Rest In Peace.

Not only is she beautiful on the outside but was more importantly she was soo beautiful on the inside.Tremendous strength, courage and belief. I hope her son learns a great lesson about life and get his in order. She may not have been overshadowed by Michael Jackson's death, but not in my heart. Farrah was truly an icon, but not only that....she was a brilliant human being and one who touched the lives of so many. Her life illustrates that, in America, dreams continue to come true and that, a good heart goes a long way!
