Boulder Kills Driver

Terrifying story. In Snowmass Canyon, Colorado, A man was instantly killed when a boulder suddenly fell through his window, as he drove his family home from an outing.

Amazingly, the mother was able to take control of the car and guide it to safety, as their kids sat in the backseat, preventing it from becoming an even worse tragedy. See the article below for the details of her heroic actions that prevented this from being an even worse tragedy.

I give my condolences to the wife, children and family. The wife is a very couragous lady to be able to take control of the vehicle under such traumatic circumstances. My hands go up to her with utmost respect. The majority of people may have paniced under the same situation. Instead taking control saving her life and the childrens was amazing.

I have seen this happen a few times. Being an emergency responder rock fall all the time in the Arctic Circle portion of Big Bear Lake, CA. I have seen them hit the road the size of a small car. Drivers just need to be aware as driving in these areas. Most of the time you can see them coming in time to move or stop.
I do feel bad for the family, to see this take place if horriable. They are in my prayers

I just want to say that my thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I just lost my dad very suddenly just a couple of weeks ago and I know how hard it is.

I feel for the family, and applaud the courageous actions of the mother in averting a tragedy that could have been far worse. To the children I can only say this: Your dad was a good man and he didn't deserve that, but it happened. Be the best you can be and make him proud of you, wherever he is.

My very heart felt condolences to the mother and kids. I know from the bottom of my heart what they are going through; I just lost my 17 year old daughter in a car accident on July 23rd. I am still having a very hard time with this. I miss her presence, her voice and I will always love her.

My heart goes out to this woman and her children. I wish that there was some way to change the fact that her husband died. All I can do is wish the family the best under the circumstances.

This happened to me @ June Lake Loop, CA 5 yrs ago. We saw the earth move on the side of the mountain and @ first thought a large animal was running by displacing the ground in such rapid manner. When it came down in front of us, it was the size of a dining room table. What a scary feeling! My thoughts and prayers to the family in Colorado for their loss.
