Caster Semenya (VIDEO)

Castor Semenya has been a top female runner for years. In fact she's so good, critics say maybe Castor is not a female runner at all.

After blowing away the competition in her latest 800 meter race, her sport's governing body the IAAF has requested that Caster Semenya be tested or examined to prove her gender, though it was not specified what this entails.

There have been whispers for years about Caster Semanya, but many wonder how much of this is based on prejudice, simply because she doesn't look as attractive as other runners, and allso partly due to her African heritage. But others point out she is simply more muscular and developed differently than her felllow runners, and there are many other Africans in the spoprt that don't face such questions.

It's hard to imagine anyone would try to get away with such a brazen scam, so I'd expect Caster Semenya will be exonerated soon enough. It's too bad she has to get humiliated this way, if she is innocent! But perhap she can take it as a compliment that she's so good people think she is cheating. In the meantime, hopefully Orly Taitz won't find a way to tie this into her other African conspiracy theories.

The verification requires a physical medical evaluation, and includes reports from a gynecologist, endocrinologist, psychologist, an internal medicine specialist and an expert on gender. "So we're talking about reports that are very long, very time consuming," Davies said. South Africa team manager Phiwe Mlangeni-Tsholetsane would not confirm or deny that Caster Semenya was having a gender test, but said "there was no cheating on our part..."

I think she could be a hermaphrodite. Not her fault if that is the case.

That's a man and if it isn't, it should be!!

Dude, but dick-less

semenya is a man

Castor is a very fast runner and a girl/female.Just because she is not from the first world she is being ridiculed for being fit. She rather be muscular and fit than being fat, plumpy and chain smoking like most first world women. even those who claim to be athletes are not near anywhere as fit as they are supposed to be.There's a very fit and muscular black british female runner, with no offence to her in particular- but no one ever had nasty comments about her.Castor is very pretty and fit.

i think she is indeed a she. She may b overly masculine and look like a man 2 no fault of her own. She is just good period. They r just waisting her precious time. Wonder how her parents feel since they know they raised a girl now 2 hear she has 2 go through such tests. Its an insult

I think that tests should be done to clear the air. There are reasons people feel that Caster is a man. Let the tests results speak for themselves.

Only in a white dominated world is there a question of one's gender when that person is of exceptional talents and abilities.
Ms. Caster is a beautiful black female of 18-year who seemed to easily out performed many of the fields primier white european professional track champions-making her performance all the more subject to questioning by some.
I wonder what will happen to other black perfessionals in other fields when they show exceptional talents and abilies far above their non-black contempories.
No wonder western cultures try so hard to marginalize their non-white populations. Just think of what would have happened, if there was no history of slavery or colonialism and racism.
I imagine the world would have been a more prosperious place being that blacks would have competted on a level playing field and given their inherited physical power...well use your imagination!

Caster is a girl who is black and out shine the whites who believe glory is not for ablack girl.
May God protect her and shame the devil.

It is a shame that when something happens to a black person there is racism, but when it happens to others it is the right thing to do. I am not white but I can tell you that the person that Semenya looks as if she could be a male in many aspects and that is why the test are being done. People can say what they want about racism and whites attempting to keep them down, but this is nothing but a test required when someone has the appearance and voice of a male and sets a record for the year that the top Female athletes have not reached. Please grow up and stop making everything a racist action against the black population. I can state from experience that through the years I have only experienced and seen racism from blacks on whites and other blacks, but that is something that is not politically correct and will not be accepted. Please learn to be impartial and treat everything as a problem with regulations and not a problem with the race.

I understand that she was born with a vagina, she has ovaries and a uterus. Now I might not be a Harvard educated person, but the last time I checked these characteristics makes her 100% female. This means that she can conceive and give birth to a child NATURALLY in her current state. Now if these are not features of a TRUE FEMALE then I must have been studying the the WRONG EDITION of BIOLOGY 101.

here we go again... haters! whenever something good comes out of Africa, there must be a fluke, excuses have to be made, explanations have to be made. when martina navratilova was kicking butt nobody scrutinized her gender. now bcoz caster is black and african, there must be something wrong. grow up people and spare this beautiful young lady your hate!

Posted by: Anonymous at August 28, 2009 1:12 PM

you have to wonder if she is a man something is wrong her name says it all SE-MEN-YA

Would like to restate what "fikile" said

Just because she doesnt fit the description of what some girls look like, doesnt mean she is not a girl. I suppose if Sojourner Truth or Harriet Tubman were alive today, perhap their gender would be questioned, but does it negate what their contribution did for the Blacks of North America??? I think not.what it proves is we are a very ,very strong people genetically, and, if most North American Blacks, had not been sujected to sexual relations with Anglo slave owners there may be more Semenyas around.

Africas are known for scamers, Sorry, but this child needs to be examine.

Posted by: anna at August 28, 2009 2:56 PM

I'm a person of color, and she is ugly as hell. Her mannerisms deem the test necessary. I'm disapointed in the IAAF. All women should be tested before their pro career starts imho. Is that too much to ask for? To isolate it after a big win is wrong. If it turns out that it is a she, Will an apology mean shit? NOOOOO, it will not !!!

The correct term is Africans ANN , It is clear what U R. P.S Who scams like WHITE FOLK

Test her.So what of how shes made. She didnt ask to be born like that. This could be a test for all of us by the maker ,for us to find a solution to a problem like this.Test her for testerone levels. If its closer to men,her age,let her run with the males. If its closer to the womens, let her run with the females. Why should she be penalized for being born the way she is.She is going to have many problems down the road with her life as is so why take something from her that she loves?

caster is a black african women and she deserve the credit.

Posted by: mulalo at September 11, 2009 8:12 AM

That is not a woman. Perhaps the genitals were ambiguous at birth and this person was raised a girl, but I am certain about this as I am my name , that if genetic testing were done the results would me all MALE.

yes, once people satarted suggesting that the williams sister should be judged in a differernt category. might not have known about it because it ws quite subtle. but it was under discussion. That these women swung too hard. If they had come from a third world country, you know, deemed the unprotected masses, the feceration would have been chomping at the bit for a test. But they know in america they cant do that it would have an outcry. So they go after poor semina. yes, she is a boyish female, made her mind up long ago, fought everything female outgrowth till pyschically she stunted breast growth and developed manliness, but her vagina is all she needs for genetic proof, all the other abilities, she brought them on by herself and to her credit. maybe the other women should try a little mind power, they'd get some testastarones too, maybe they take it a little farther and grow a penis in the bargain.

I really think a lot of you commenting know nothing about athletics other than winning or losing and who is popular, If a person has an unfair advantage not because of God given talent then it is unfair to the rest of the people he/she is competing against. If she does not fit the definition of a woman according to the set standards then she should be banned. Also someone seem to be covering up something because someone had to know. she/it does not look/act/speak or dress like a woman and alas what was in the dark is now come to light,. stop making this a black/white issue and stick to the facts, i am sure there are many black african athletes in the past who did not come under this scrutiny so people please.. caster is a damn man and SA should be ashamed of itself

Posted by: venile at September 12, 2009 5:44 PM

She is good lets face it. Keep it up Semenya and prove them wrong. I wonder what are they saying about Usine Bolt.

Posted by: C at September 12, 2009 11:28 PM

if she's a female good for her let her prove it.she should take it as a compliment.
Why is she the only female with an "adams apple"? I think she is a male and I also hope she makes me eat my words.

Posted by: foxpup at September 13, 2009 2:27 AM

who ever thinks that Semenya is female must be blind or doesn't know its own gender. watch the video. when the runners get introduced you can see that every little move is soooo typicaly male that I have to laugh out loud now that nobody has noticed this before? what's wrong with people this days? too busy watching reality TV?
