Drunken Breast-Feeding Mother? (VIDEO)

Yikes. A woman in North Dakota was arrested after police found her breasfeeding her 6-week old baby while drunk. Some people might not have known this was illegal, but drinking while breastfeeding is believed to pose a serious helth risk to a young baby, and thought this has never been prosecuted before in that state, the woman is now facing up to five years!

5 years is a long time, and some people say she should be given treatment and help, so she a has a chance to get it together and be there to raise her kids. But on the other hand, if she has a previous track record of mistreatment than keeping the kid in someone else's care might be the best thing.

If you watch the news report below, the woman apparently has a track record of previous issues, and even on that night there were other problems discovered besides the breast-feeding issue. Sounds like this intervention was the right move, and great care should be taken before this mother is given custody again.

Drunken Breast Feeding Mother?

Twenty-six-year-old Stacey Anvarinia could face up to five years in prison when she's sentenced on the felony charge in August. Judge Sonja Clapp says Anvarinia will not have to register as an offender against children.

Remove the child. Why should it be exposed to further mistretment. The woman is an unfit mother. There are many people who could give the child a norman upbringing. Take the child away before something really wrong happens to it.

I don't understand..why didn't they police arrest her when they opened the door and saw her holding the baby upside down..why wait till the baby is shakened by this woman...I am a mother of 12 yr old girl and a 9 yr old one had to tell me that breast feeding drunk or high was wrong..It doesn't matter to me where you come from..or your background..being a parent is common sense.treat them the way you want to be treated..I understand that some people have addictions..even mental problems..or deal with abuse..i have deal with all three..i was sexual abused from the ages of 4 to 10..raped at 16..and suffer from bipolar disease and post tramatic stress syndrome...but I choose everyday not to let my past override my common sense..All children want is to be LOVED

Moon. You are a asshole. Your parents should have been sterilized before they made the mistake of you.

This looks like it was just posted. The news is a couple days old and just now filtering out of ND. She ended up getting sentenced to probation/treatment. She went home, slashed some tires on a pickup, and was again arrested just yesterday (8.12.09). I'm assuming this violates her probation and she will now get the jail time she so rightfully deserves.
