George Soros: $35 Million Gift!

The billionaire George Soros has always been controversial, with conservatives associating his name with funding many left wing causes, and wondering if he was behind more than he publicly takes credit for, with all that money he throws around.

But this time there's no need for rumor, as the all-star currency trader Soros is right up front representing this new initiative to help New York's needy families. George Soros has put up a $35 million dollar gift to help make sure all New York children can have proper school supplies. Thanks to his gift to our city, and the matching funds that will come along through the stimulus package, Every needy family in NY will have an extra $200 to put towards their kid's back-to-school needs.

Some people will probably ask whether it's a good idea to give this money out without any control over what it gets spent on, imagining that parents might just buy $200 in lottery tickets or something. But I think you gotta have a little faith that parents are are do right by their kids, instead of assuming that everyone who doesn't have money also doesn't have integrity. I think we end to assume that too often(especially when it's the people with the most money who often have the least integrity).

And whatever you think about George Soros' $35 million gift to NY, you have to admit helping kids go to school is not the work of the devil! And as partly seen in the video below, he also has to get credit for correctly predicting that today's economic problems were going to happen. I think the guy knows a thing or two about what to do with money.

what about the rest of us in other states . it is not fair they choose to live there. many are buying nothing even close to school supplies. i was at walmart and witnessed this. it is so unfair to give to some and not to all

I think its great what Soros was did,
and if anyone has a problem with why in there own states that the government is improperly funding children who need school supplies you should then direct your attention to the ones youve elected in your state to represent you on capital hill those are the ones you need to direct your questions of improper funding to your schools!

It is sad when someone does a good thing and others try to make it out to be a bad thing out of envy

Please, George Soros is not even an American! He is a shifty international trader who has manipulated our financial markets for a while now. He has no more interest in school children than I have in moose dung. Believe me, this is not a selfless act, he will get something out of it. Probably a big part in running the US government. Good bye US of A.

It's sooo easy to point the finger at everyone else, why not take a good hard look at yourselves and ask what are you doing to help?? You can't keep putting the blame on Obama or George or anyone else for that matter. Take control of your own crap and quit whining about it!
