Obama Joker Poster

Apparently this poster has been popping up around Los Angeles lately, and someone, either the media or those who hate Obama in some parts of America, have found it newsworthy enough to spread around as a news story.

Various websites are speculating that this Obama Joker poster is basically a ripoff of this flickr page, posted back in January. It's not really clear to me why this is news, although I guess it shows the power of the image, just like Obama's campaign did with their usage of positive images that capture the imagination. Also the professor Melissa Harris Lacewell pointed out on her twitter page yesterday that in the movie you see the Joker blowing up a hospital, which could be read metaphor for the administrations health care reform plans?
