Carrie Prejean Suit Against Miss California

Carrie Prejean, the controversial Miss California who answered Perez Hilton's question about gay marriage, is now suing the Miss California pageant for discrimination, saying she was fired for representing her Christian beliefs.

Prejean continued to cause controversy after her pageant appearance, with top pageant boss Donald Trump at first defending her, but as various issues continued Carrie Prejean was removed by the Miss California team. For some reason Donald Trump is not included in Prejean's suit.

The pageant people say Carrie Prejean was missing many public appearances and not living up to her responsibilities, but Prejean insists they are exaggerating that, and her real crime was representing her religion. I say this entire beauty pageant scene is absurd and should just go out of business, and Carrie Prejean should move on and get a job at Fox News.

I don't see what the big deal is here. California voted down same-sex marriage less than a year before her comments which simply expressed her personal beliefs AND the current legislation on the books in California. She is expressing the viewpoint of the majority of the people in her own state and that doesn't make her an uptight right wing fundamentalist freak like some people would try to make you believe. Actually, its pretty normal to share her belief about same sex marriage and most Americans do. Normal can only be offensive to the abnormal as I see it.
