Woman Sues Over Fake Facebook Profile of Son


A woman in Chicago is seeking offline justice for her son's online abuse, as she sues over the fake Facebook profile made of her son.

The fake account mocked her son with racially and sexually derogatory material, and was allegedly posted to Facebook by the son's fellow students. The targets of the lawsuits are not named publicly because of their age.

Good for Janet Cook for standing up for her kid and taking this to court, I hope justice is served and the kids who did this learn how to act right. People think there is no accountability on the internet, and we need more reminders that what you do online is real and can really hurt people.

I am glad to hear that someone is at least taking some action. To much goes on with some online social sites. Some good some bad and yes the bad can do real harm not just virtual like we are lead to believe. Once we do something and post it on the internet it becomes public domain knowledge. So we do need to be cautious at what we post if we don't want to have something come back to bite us down the road.
