Dante Wesley Hit Video

If you haven't seen the video of the Dante Wesley hit on Clifton Smith last night, you'll see in the clip below it was an absolutely brutal hit, and Dante Wesley totally deserved to get ejected from the game, and get more punishment from the NFL.

It was a routine punt fairly early in the football game, and Clifton Smith was looking up at the ball when Dante Wesley plows straight into him full force even though the ball was nowhere near them, AND Smith had signaled for a fair catch. Afterwards Smith was lying there motionless and the officials and coaching staffs barely held back both teams from a huge fight on the football field.

Dante Wesley is expected to face further fines and suspensions for the hit, as well he should. NFL Football is already a rough sport, but we don't need to watch NFL games and see straight-up assault on the field. This was a bit too much!

Carolina safety Dante Wesley was ejected late in the first half of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay when he launched himself into Buccaneers punt returner Clifton Smith, who had signaled for a fair catch...The hit with 10 seconds left in the second quarter brought players from both teams off the sidelines.
