Falcon Heene Said on Larry King "We Did This For The Show"

At first everyone was mesmerized and terrified as we watched that balloon fly through the sky, thinking little Falcon Heene was inside. Then it landed and we were all mystified as we saw he wasn't inside at all.

But now the mystery has turned to doubt and suspicion, as we saw Falcon Heene on Larry King last night, telling his parents "you said we did this for the show." Wait... what? His storm chasing, "mad scientist" dad Richard Heene immediately seemed flustered, appparently trying to cover up what the son just said and do damage control, then getting belligerent and combative when reporters followed up on it.

Local authorities said they will now re-interview the family, and child protective services will be called in to investigate the family situation as well. Personally I don't think they should lose custody, even if they are proven guilty of a hoax.. but they should lose access to media nad rthe internet! Any reality show deals Hollywood had for the Heene's should now be put in a box in the attic.

Once again I see the phrase "lose custody" because a pair of parents might have made a mistake. Has this country gone nuts? To even mention that possibility is outrageous! All over the world throughout its entire history, terrible parents have raised children to adulthood, and now we talk about splitting up an obviously highly intelligent and loving family because of a single lapse of judgement? Shame on modern American culture and its twisted view of how to fix things!

Next time you want to create a reality tv show serious; make sure you practice lying with your children. He actually said, "you said we did this for the show"?

I didn't see any hole for the little boy to get into the balloon. Also, it seemed very impossible to me for that to happen. Why isn't your balloon tied down? This story is just way too weird.

There was no hole, there was no basket, there was no "balloon boy"! The father and mother looked horrified when the truth spilled out of Falcon's mouth and didn't know what to do at that point. This morning we saw the video that proved that the father was actually there when his flying disc got away and he went crazy.

Again, no hole, no basket, no Falcon!!

And, the parents lied to the sheriff's department and said they were inside the house when the older brother told them that the balloon got away with the little brother inside it?! What a complete farce!

I found this very outrageous. Children don't lie about such things. If his own son said that they did this for the show, then they did this for the show. I just wish that the next time someone tries to pull a publicity stunt they're more tactful about it.

i think the parents should have to pay for all those man-hours that were wasted "looking" for this child and following the dumb balloon!

I agree, It's pretty obvious Falcon's Dad coaxed his family into a hoax in order to let a million people know he designed a UFO balloon knowing the news media would give him a ton of free publicity.
