Best Buy, CinemaNow Deal


Best Buy will take a shot at competing with Netflix, as a partnership between Best Buy & CinemaNow allows the chain to offer movie downloads to their customers.

The Best Buy/Cinema Now partnership will allow consumers to watch movies on many devices: computers, DVD or Blu Ray players, smartphone devices similar to the iPhone and portable MP3 players.

Up until now Best Buy has failed to do well with digital delivery of media, and they will have lots of competition as others already offer this service, including Netflix, Blockbuster and Apple, not to mention perhaps the biggest competitor: illegal downloads from places like bittorrent.
