Authorities say Peru gang members are killing people for their fat, so they can sell the victim's body fat for use in the cosmetics industry. Experts say there won't be much demand for this fat, as huge amounts of body fat are available from liposuction and other similar cosmetic surgery,but apparently these gangs have found some people willing to pay.

Police say a gang in the Peruvian jungle has been killing people and draining fat from the corpses to sell on the black market for use in cosmetics, although medical experts say they doubt a major market for fat exists thanks to the plentiful fat available from liposuction procedures...the fat was sold to intermediaries in Lima, and police suspect it was then sold to cosmetic companies in Europe.
