Alcohol and Breast Cancer Return


Bad news for women recovering from breast cancer, but a warning that may be worrth heeding. New medical studies are said to indicate that drinking, even moderately, can increase the chances that a woman's breast cancer will return.

The study found that women who have just a few drinks a week incresed the likelihood of a relapse. Doctordswho have studied the research say cutting your drinking is definitely a good idea, as well as keeping your weight down. Some alcohol is often said to be good for people, in, general, especially red wine because of its resveratrol, but women at risk of Breast cancer issues may have to decide that the health risks outweigh the benefits. As always though, it's important to keep following the studies and reactions to them, as with other controversial reports about breast cancer screening.

Breast cancer survivors who have just a few alcoholic drinks per week are more likelyl to see their breast cancer return, according to research presented today at an annual meeting of breast cancer specialists. The study, which followed about 1,900 early-stage breast cancer survivors for eight years, found that women who consumed an average of at least three to four alcoholic drinks in a week had a 34 percent higher risk ..
