Chelsea Clinton Marc Mezvinsky Engagement E-Mail


In a sign of the times for our digital age, America's political sweetheart Chelsea Clinton announced to friends and family (and by extension the world) that she was engaged not by traditional means but through a mass email.

The email, sent to friends and family this week, read: ""We're sorry for the mass e-mail," they wrote, "but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn't get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc."

Getting good news like this should be enough to convince all of our parents and grandparents to finaly learn how to check email! Best of luck to Chelsea and Marc, and their families.

The e-mail engagement announcement will no doubt set off a crush of tabloid speculation about where, when and how the wedding will take place. Many media outlets, including The Boston Globe, The New York Daily News and The Washington Post, got so far ahead of the curve that they reported incessantly - and incorrectly -- that Ms. Clinton and Mr. Mezvinsky were getting married in Martha's Vineyard last summer...
