Secret Santa Recipients Must Pass Along the Kindness

One of the coolest new traditions, in this holiday season that so often is dominated by crass commercialism, is the new generation of Secret Santas, who roam the nation commiting random acts of kindness, giving money to strangers with no strings attached.

The Society of Secret Santas, who are largely inspired by the late Larry Stewart, ask only that the recipients of their kindness must pass it along to someone else when they have the chance. LArry Stewart began playing the role of Secret Santa in 1979, inspired by a man who long ago helped him when he was down on his luck. When Stewart became a millionaire, he paid that kindness forward every year until he died in 2007.

Thanks to a reader I found out about a group of Secret Santa's that anonymously pass out $100 bills to random people during the Christmas season. The group was founded by Larry Stewart who anonymously passed out over a $1 million over 26 years. The Secret Santa organization has continued even after Larry passed away 2 years ago....
