Susan Boyle Bullied

Susan Boyle, the singer who touched everyone's hearts last year, continues to show courage by talknig honestly about her battles with depression and childhood trauma.

Talknig about the treatment she received being bullied as a child, Boyle said "I know I'm taking a big chance telling people this but you have to be honest. I used to be made a fool of at school. It was psychological bullying and that leaves a scar and it also cultivates a lot of anger."

I wish more voices spoke up for those who got bullied and picked on this way, and it's great that Boyle was able to survive and make it through as a success story, and show that you can make it past those wounds, and even though you never stop feelnig it and being affected by it, you can lead a full life regardless. And prove those bullies wrong.

Susan is fabulous, and she will have mood swings from this PTSD (childhood trauma). I believe it took a lot of courage revealing her battle with depression and where it stems from. GO SUSAN. Maybe speak to a professional and get some of these issues resolved. Just a little advice.

Hi Susan,

I appreciate you sharing you story, its so difficult to get doctors to assist you when you are suffering from such.

To make matters worse, sometimes your own family does not really understand.

Thanks again for sharing and God bless you as you and all of us reading this story continue to conquer and overcome the battles.

Best wishes

Wow.. I don't understand why anyone could say grow up to sharing past and present struggles. That is so powerful to be able to share and God knows you are not alone. For someone to say such a harsh thing is a " bully behavior" and this is not the place. Susan don't take childish comments to heart. You are wise and brave to share your story. So many children and adults are suffering because of the words people have spoken over them. To share the feeling and emotion that stems from that will help others. You go girl :) Rebecca

Just goes to show that even AFTER success, fame, and fortune people can continue to be haunted by the ravages of bullying in childhood. The onus is on all of us to send the message LOUD & CLEAR that as teachers, parents, ans as a society we WILL NOT tolerate this unkindness that children perpetuate on each other. Better to drain the swamp than swat the mosquitos.

It is funny how people are sticking up for her now. But I recall when she came out for her auditioning, everyone laughed in the audience, as well as Simon Cowell. So you see, you have to overcome many things in life, whether you like it or not. GOD BLESS YOU SUSAN BOYLE!! MERRY XMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN GOOD OLD SCOTLAND. FAN FROM MONTREAL, CANADA.

This last comment is so true....& we must remember that yes, when Susan first walked out on stage, most people sniggered & that included the judges.. &.for that matter who amongst us at home did'n't privately think "oh my god, what is this one going to do...." (including myself)... & then we heard Susan sing... it is so easy to judge people & so easy for us to run with the crowd- bullying doe's'n't end in the playground-we learn too quickly to dismiss people- good for you, Susan, you believed in yourself & had the courage to go out there & we're all the richer for it

Many people suffer from childhood events. people don't relize that even the non verbal reaction to a person can be felt. Self esteem is damaged by thoughtless actions of others. You have a great gift and God is guiding you and making you stronger day by day in helping you fulfill a dream. For that reason I look up to you and was one of the first people here in Canada to buy your cd. Your music is heartfelt and beleive in yourself as a person always. canada fan Evelyn

I am so touched by your singing Susan. I hardly ever go out and by a cd but I made a special point to find yours. Wild Horses makes me cry every time I hear it. This song takes me back to younger days and with you singing it, it just blows me away. You have the voice of an angel. Don't even worry about the past you have come so far. Keep up the excellent work!
