Balloon Boy Movie News?

Is there anyone left in the world who doesn't hate Richard Heene, the father of the balloon boy? Apparently there is one, a filmmaker named Steven Barber who says he still believes Heene was innocent, and is making news with his plans to release a documentary seeking to prove Heene's innocence.

Barber has known Heene for 10 years, and worked with him filming various projects Heene was working on. Barber claims he still believes in Heene's innocence, and that the dad really did think his son falcon was on the balloon, and it was not a hoax. He plans to release a documentary with lots of footge of him working on the balloon project as well as other material to show the real Richard Heene and convince the public of his innocence. Honestly, I am skeptical about whether this filmmaker even truly believes what he is saying, as opposed to just claiming he thinks Richard Heene is innocent so he can stir up the already stale controversy and milk it one more time to get attention for his own film work.

Once Richard Heene admitted in court that he wrongly sent authorities on a wild goose chase across Colorado to save the son he thought was aloft in a runaway balloon, friends and supporters seemed to take off just about as fast as that balloon. All except for one: Steven C. Barber, a 48-year-old filmmaker who says he still believes Heene really thought his son was in the balloon. He plans to prove it, Barber says, when he releases the documentary "Balloon Boy: Guilty Until Proven Innocent" later this year.
