Madonna Humanitarian Efforts, Malawi

Madonna is now well known for her charitable and humanitarian efforts around the world, and now she is getting her children into the act as well, as her daughter Lourdes a few years ago joined her for a humanitarian trip to Malawi.

Lourdes' mom said she was blown away by her daughter's commitment to helping the people of Malawi, especially the many orphan children there diagnosed with the AIDS virus. Madonna said ofher daughter's humanitarian efforts: "She so came into her own and was so responsible and stayed for eight hours every day and worked tirelessly. I thought, 'Why am I babying her so much? She's capable of so much more.' " Madonna also wound up adopting a baby boy from Malawi, David Banda, so Lourdes now also has a little brother from there. Hopefully one day they can go back together to do even more humanitarian work for Banda's people back home! Much cooler things to read about celebrity youth than the usual TMZ gossip.
