Lil Wayne Looking Forward to Jail? (NEWS)

Rap superstar Lil Wayne is getting ready to serve a year in jail on a gun charge, right at the height of his career. Most people would probably be pretty upset about this development but Wayne seems to be taking it in stride, even saying that he's "looking forward to jail."

Lil Wayne will be serving a one year sentence for a felony gun charge, and will serve it out in NY's notorious Riker's Island facility. Wayne is keeping a positive mindset about his incarceration and plans to keep working by having his partners send him beats to listen to on his Pod, which he will use to keep writing new songs. Wayne says "I look at things as 'Everything is meant to be.' I know it's an experience that I need to have if God's putting me through it."

Wayne just released a new album, his rap/rock fusion experiment entltled Rebirth, and is still riding high off his last album The Carter 3. With any luck he'll use this time away as an opportunity to clear his head and maybe come back more mature and more focused. Especially since he also reportedly has quite his addiction to "syrup", 2011 could be a great fresh start for this very talented young musician.

"I'll have an iPod, and I'll make sure they keep sending me beats," he said. And though the "Lollipop" rapper just dropped a new album, the rock-crossover effort "Rebirth," he told the magazine he's accepted his time away from touring and recording...
