Marvell Scott Pleads Not Guilty (VIDEO)

Marvell Scott, a New York based sportscaster, pled not guilty today to rape charges, after being arrested and charged with a hideous crime of raping a 14-year-old girl who was working as a prostitute.

The appalling (if true) case involves Marvell allegedly approaching a pimp in Times Square, which I didn't realize was even possible anymore, and arranging with him to take two underage girls to his apartment where he violated the younger of the two.,

Marvell Scott's attorney says he is completely innocent, and that the whole case is a "ruse."

Up until recently Marvell Scott was a sportscaster for WABC Tv, the local ABC affiliate that airs on channel 7.

He is also trained as a doctor and worked in Haiti helping the earthquake victims by providing medical help.

A former local New York City sportscaster has been indicted on charges he raped a 14-year-old runaway working as a prostitute. Marvell Scott pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges of rape, patronizing a prostitute and endangering the welfare of a child. Manhattan prosecutors say he encountered a pimp in Times Square at 3:45 p.m. on June 5, 2008. They say he paid the pimp, and took the 14-year-old and another 16-year-old girl to his apartment where he raped the younger girl. Defense attorney Richard Portale says no sexual contact occured and called the incident "a ruse..."
