Clint Eastwood: FBI Director?

According to the latest word from Hollywood is Clint Eastwood may soon be the new director of the FBI!

Or at least, the new director of the FBI movie.

Reports indicate that the lagendary actor and director will soon be helming a feature film about the FBI and its mastermind J Edgar Hoover.

J Edgar Hoover was a legend for his efforts to pursue law and order through the organization he built, but also infamous for his eccentricities and what some consider to be his widespread abuse of power and irrational decisions.

Clint Eastwood has done a great job with his historical films up until now, and I expect this Hoover biopic o be smart and balanced as his other films were, hopefully not glossing over the dark side of J Edgar's legacy while showing the positive impact of the FBI as well.

Clint Eastwood is in talks to direct a biopic about FBI director J. Edgar Hoover... Universal put the project into turnaround after Imagine initially set it up at its parent studio. With Eastwood's involvement, it's possible that the film could end up at Warner Bros., where Eastwood has produced 35 films through his Malpaso production company. Hoover was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation in 1924 and was named head of the FBI when it was founded 11 years later. He remained director until his death in 1972 and was notorious for using the FBI to harass political activists and keeping secret files on leaders.
