Hefner Hollywood Sign Affair?

Hugh Hefner is in the news once again for showing it love on the Hollywood sign, or that is giving love to the sign.

The legendary landmark sign that overlooks the glamorous LA area has been having problerms for some time, and was in need of financial help to stay in existence. So for the second time over the years, Hugh Hefner has donated a large sum from his Playboy empire to keep the famous sign on the mountainside.

The government, led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, was leading a charge to raise $12 million for the ailing Hollywood sign, and Hefner was a hero with his $900,000 pledge to bring them over the top. Said Arnold, "The Hollywood sign will now welcome dreamers, artists and Austrian bodybuilders for generations to come." A happy ending for all!

The world-famous view of the world-famous Hollywood sign has been saved -- by the man who rescued the Los Angeles icon 32 years ago. Playboy's Hugh Hefner ponied up $900,000 to push a fundraising campaign past the $12.5 million needed to buy 138 acres behind the sign to keep out luxury homes. California's famous actor/bodybuilder/governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, called it "the Hollywood ending we hoped for." "It's a symbol of dreams and opportunity," he said. "The Hollywood sign will welcome dreamers, artists and Austrian bodybuilders for generations to come."
