Carrie in High School Did Not Follow the Crowd - She Led It


We've seen Carrie Bradshaw's adult life in so much detail, in books, TV and now the big screen. But now you may get a chance to dig even deeper, and see what Carrie was like in high school!

Candace Bushnell is preparing a new set of books, the Carrie Diaries, that will show us what life was like for the Sex and the City protagonist back in her teenage days in High School. This announcement comes just in time to follow up on the publicity of the new Sex and the City movie, that follows Carrie and her man-and-clothing obsessed crew in the aftermath of the first feature film episode.

Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell is writing a pair of novels titled, The Carrie Diaries. The books reveal Carrie's high school years "giving an inside look at Carrie's friendships, romances and how she realized her dream of becoming a writer," HarperCollins announced. Bushnell said of the novels, "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd -- she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene," Associated Press reports.
