Paula Abdul & CBS Dance Show?

As American Idol flounders without her, word has it Paula Abdul will soon return to TV on her own CBS Dance show.

There had been widespread speculation that Abdul, the successful singer and choreographer who went on to be best known as an American Idol judge, would join her Idol partner Simon Cowell on his new X-Factor show. But now it looks like that won't be happening, as the latest word is Abdul will be heading up her on show on CBS an American adaptation of the British dance show "Got To Dance." Abdul will be a judge in the competition-based reality show, and also executive produce.

In the meantime, rumor has it Abdul will make a cameo appearance in Simon Cowell's final week on American Idol, coming up soon. Too bad nobody will be watching as Idol's ratings are in the tank.. but maybe they'll jump up again for this.

Paula Abdul, who could be dropping in on Simon Cowell's farewell to "American Idol" on Wednesday, apparently will not be part of Simon's new "X Factor" talent competition, as has been speculated, when it arrives season after next. Abdul reportedly has signed on with a new CBS British import, "Got To Dance." The former Laker Girl will be a judge and have an executive producer's credit. The dance competition is tentatively scheduled to also premiere during the 2011-12 TV season.
