7th Century Shipwreck 60 Minutes

60 Minutes last night had some incredible stories of an ancient shipwreck from the 7th century, capturing the moment of exhilaration when the discoverers figured out that they had found such a rare discovery.

The tv show followed an explorer named Robert Ballard, and 60 Minutes reporter Lara Logan was able to ride along with them to the waters near Turkey, where they found the amazing ancient wreck. Ballard is the same expert explorer who found the wreck of the Titanic, according to the link below which has more details.

CBS' "60 Minutes" is there when explorer Robert Ballard finds a 7th Century shipwreck off Turkey as the juncture of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas Lara Logan and her team record the moment of discovery. "Got it! It's an ancient shipwreck. I love it. I love it!" Ballard says at the big moment. He has had those a-ha moments before when finding the deep-sea wrecks of the Titanic, the Bismarck and PT 109, which Lt. John F. Kennedy commanded during World War II.
