Eric Roberts, the brother of Julia Roberts, has had more than his share of drama. Along the way in his long career, he has had a wide variety of movie roles, but also many trials and travails in his personal life.

Roberts suffered a terrible car accident that left him in a coma and severaly damaged his face, so much that from then on he had to take different movie roles than he had before, playing the bad guy or the tough guy.

And he has been perceived as a bad guy by the law as well, getting arrested numerous times usually for drug related offenses, as he has suffered through drug addiction and sought treatment for it at various times in his career.

In February 1995, Eric Roberts was arrested for shoving his wife into a wall. It was not the first time he got into a domestic dispute. He had previously appeared in court for fighting with his former girlfriend, Kelly Cunningham. In addition, in 1987, Roberts was arrested for resisting arrest and possession of cocaine and marijuana after he tried to assault a New York police officer.
